> 3 dayI blew a spark plug in cylinder 4 near the firewall of my 2004 mustang gt. I bought a helicoil kit to patch things up like a band aid. That didnt last for long. So, I decided to shell out the big bucks for a true repair kit. I decided to go with this kit because several reviewers mentioned using it for their mustangs as well. The kit comes with all you need to accurately rethread a previously repaired hole. The thread inserts are excellent, theyre beefy and solid. They fit nice and snug in the tapped hole, with the help of some jb weld. I have yet to encounter any problems yet, if i do ill update.

> 3 dayFixed my 97 Expedition that had a blown our spark plug two weeks ago and it is running great. I was really nrevous about trying to do this myself, but I had to keep the costs as low as possible. Bought the CalVan 38900 and let it sit for a couple of weeks till I got up the nerve to tackle the job. Looked at a bunch of videos including the one that came with the kit and was pretty sure that I could do this even though I only had hand tools to work with. I had no bore scope, air ratchet, or starter button, but was able to do the job just fine with a 1/2 ratchet handle, I bumped the motor over using the key to get the valves closed and measured piston height by using a soft plastic rod inserted into the spark plug hole. Luckily I was on the front of the engine so it was easy to get to. The supplied guide holds the reamer and tap bits in the correct position and it takes a few minutes to get the hole ready to install the insert. The inserts look well made and went in without a hitch. It was easy enough that I wanted to do the other 7 plugs but didnt want to deal with the clearance issues towards the rear of the engine. But should the need arise later, I have the kit and 7 inserts ready and waiting.

> 3 dayGreat kit. Watch the you tube video by Ron Williams, step by step. If you don’t have a large air compressor it will take awhile because you will need to stop and let the air compressor build up pressure again. FYI: In Ron’s video, he stated that he charges $280 per cylinder.

> 3 dayWorked flawlessly for my 2 valve Ford E350 5.4l. I was in the middle of life as usual when plug no.7 decided to leave the engine. I made the mistake of trying some auto part store fix it kits by brands I can’t remember, and they were only successful in ruining the head further, completely destroying whatever was left of the original threads. CalVan to the rescue. More thanks to Ron Williams YouTube channel who expertly displayed how to use and repair my engine.

Greater than one weekMake your own blow gun adapter. Take a 16 or 24 blow gun tip from harbor Freight and use a small drill to add small holes to the tip area to force the air backwards inside the cylinders to facilitate the chip removal. And dont think you got it all without borescope evaluation , I used 40 gallon compressor with 5 tanks per each hole. Take ur time, Ive now got 15k extra miles and counting,
