    At first I was a little skeptical, but once receiving the cal-van kit, I could see that it was definitely top-notch. I watched several YouTube videos on installation as well as the one provided by the company before installation . As you can see from the pictures, the original helicoil is on the left of the spark plug and the new cal-van insert is on the right ( its upside down on purpose and was installed the other way) you could see a huge difference in the quality and size. You can also see on the second picture that there is a chunk of head missing from the spark plug hole. That is my own fault due to installing two helicoils on top of each other. Unlike helicoil, the new calvan insert becomes one with the head using JB weld ( instructions state using JB weld . I have repaired and driven my F-150 5.4 l for approximately a month with no issues. It currently has 231,000 miles on it. I highly recommend this kit if you have a blown spark plug. Stay away from helicoils!

    Found this just in time. It was 1500 to get new heads, 5k to get a new car, or these to get back up and running. White boys broke these days, so the cheaper option saved me alot of money. Exactly as described. Easy enough to use. The kit that is. Gettting into some of the cyclenders in the back are a pain. But worth the extra effort to keep from going to the shop

    I used this kit and it was extremely easy to use. Literally just put the air hose in that spark plug hole and bump the starter until the air hose comes out to ensure valves are closed. Rheem the hole, blow it out, rethread the hole, blow it out, brake clean, repeat until you are certain all shavings are out of the hole. Put 271 red loctite on the insert, anti seize the spark plug, and torque to 22 ft lbs. Retorqued other plugs to 17 ft lbs. Instructions were clear. Way worth it. If you are contemplating, dont. Just buy the kit. It works.

    By far the best and easiest way to fix your 2 valve triton!!! Stay away from the dorman kit! Had my #7 cylender fixed in 45 minutes start to finish.

    Photos are of before and after using the $20 borescope I bought, also from Amazon. Threads were completely gone. This kit did a great job of setting new threads for the insert and the insert went in quite well...wish I could show a finished product shot, but Im not taking that plug out for another few years, lol.

    I found nothing wrong with this but make sure you use JB Weld like it says in the directions otherwise you will blow the plug out. This worked great for me as I had the plug blow out on me twice and needed this to repair my expedition the first time factory plug blew out I used a different brand and used red loctite I will not use loctite on a head repair again.

    Easy to use. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and fixed my car with this kit. If you have a 2 valve Triton with an ejected plug this fixed mine.
