My partner and I love this vacuum. All of the attachments make it very versatile for use around the house. It does especially a great job on hard floors. I love that it can easily turn into a handheld vacuum which is great for use on stairs and dusting applications. It is not my first choice for thick carpet though as the power doesnt adapt very well so it kind of grabs onto the carpet and becomes difficult to move. My only other complaint is that it is a little bit on the heavy side.

So I should Premise that I only use this on the max setting , that is the highest of the 3 settings. So on the high setting I love it. It only lasts 15 minutes but my god will it suck so much dirt out of your carpet more first then you even new was there. ( it’s disgusting but awesome ) — it’s like the Kirby but with out 200 pounds and ten minutes of prep time. The problem is once you use the vacuum on the high setting you never wanna go back down because it doesn’t work nearly as well yes it will pick up all the dirt you can see but after picking up all the dirt can’t see you just simply can’t ever use the regular setting again maybe for someone with hardwood but I have carpet. One thing is after I first bought it I went on a cleaning spree and the next day my elbow hurt and it continued to hurt for almost a month I’m holding the vacuum above my head I think but it’s not the vacuum spot I’m out of shape so I’m not really holding that against it. But be warned I wouldn’t suggest anyone’s grandmother vacuum their blinds or tapestries with it for that reason. Also I definitely suggest purchasing the offbrand stand that goes with it because it just makes it so neat and easy for all of the attachments and riches place over on its stand which also keeps charging. I am however afraid to vacuum up anything nasty or sticky because of the cost of the vacuum and since the filter is reusable I don’t know I’m just worried I vacuumed up wet dog hair once with the Kirby planet has not horrible ever sense so that that kind of bothers me when you pay so much for something you’re hesitant to do certain things with it because you might break it which then overrides the purpose of getting it in the first place but I still like it

    It’s a little heavy but it’s a workhorse - I don’t mind

My vacuum arrived less than two months ago. It had strong suction, a good assortment of accessories and a good display. I quickly gave up using my built-in vacuum. The battery lasted through most of the house cleaning and the waste compartment was easy to unload. I was totally impressed with the device. Up to about a week ago I would have given it five stars plus. A week ago, the vacuum motor started surging and the display indicated that the filter needed cleaning. The display even had an animation of how to remove the filter and clean it under a faucet. It then showed how to reinstall the filter. I did what I thought the device was telling me to do. I rinsed the filter under the kitchen faucet and shook out the excess water. The filter even shows a faucet on it. After the filter was reinstalled, the motor continued surging and then the vacuum shut off completely. Thinking that maybe the battery needed charging, I put the vacuum on the charger and took out the filter to let dry further. After a couple of days, I reinstalled the filter which was still slightly damp and tried to run the vacuum. It was still dead. The Dyson web site had some suggestions of what to do, which I tried, but to no avail. There was a video that showed how to clean the filter, but it added a step of letting the filter dry for a day before reinstalling. Eventually I contacted Dyson’s customer support. I told her what had happened and she told me the warranty was voided because the machine had got moisture in it. I mentioned that a cell phone can be dropped in water and it will still function. She confided that she had dropped her cell phone in the toilet and it still worked. She said I could buy a battery or take it to the Dyson repair facility 70 miles away. It did not seem like a batty problem to me. I told her I am an electronics engineer and cannot imagine a consumer product that would be that sensitive to moisture. She said I could talk to her supervisor which I said I would like to do. After a pause, she told me that the supervisor was on a phone call and would call me back. It has been 24 hours now and no phone call. My company builds electronic products and they get exposed to rain, snow and many other sources of moisture. If our products failed when they were exposed to moisture, we would be out of business. I though I was following the instructions on the screen. It seems like normal use could expose their electronics to moisture; for example, a wet rug or a small puddle of water in the bathroom or kitchen. The Dyson literature says it is good for pets. Pets can have accidents and if the vacuum goes over a wet spot in a rug, the machine will fail. If exposure to moisture is all it takes to kill the vacuum and void the warranty, then I see major issues with it. Standard coatings can protect the electronics from water and most electronic products have such coatings. The vacuum seems like a great concept, but still in the beta development phase. It just went to market too early without sufficient real-world testing. Incidentally, I looked at the repair facility’s web site and they are closed because of the COVID-19 virus. There is no way to fix my vacuum, so it is a $700 paper weight. I certainly cannot recommend buying one. Update: The supervisor never called back. Dyson did email me and offered a 20% discount for a new main body/cyclone. When I tried to purchase the part, I spent one hour on hold on the phone. After reaching a customer support person, he told me he would call me back if the line dropped. The line dropped and he did not call back. Before the line dropped he said there was no stock on the part, but he would check further. My vacuum remains a paper weight since there is no schedule for the service centers to reopen and apparently Dyson does not stock the part I need.

I have long believed, perhaps incorrectly, that Dysons high prices were unwarranted given the how they performed against the competition. Although Dyson offered unique innovations, the performance differences did not justify the cost in my opinion. I disclose this information because I want you to know that I am NOT a Dyson shill or even a fan boy. This is my first Dyson and only purchased after EXTENSIVE research... and I do mean extensive. I spent hours watching and reading independent reviews. If you are reading this review, perhaps you are in the midst of the same exhaustive process. Maybe I can save you some time - STOP READING & CLICK BUY! Seriously! OK, if youre still reading... then you are definitely more like me (which may not be good). I was initially looking for 3 things when deciding what vacuum to purchase [1] cleaning performance - duh, [2] ease of use / maintenance, and [3] reliability. However, once I dove into the process, my list expanded to include [1] battery performance, [2] flexibility in application, and [3] fatigue considerations*. * - I wanted to consider fatigue because, if I was going to utilize the vacuum based on flexibility, I needed it to work flexibly but to do so practically. In other words, flexible application that would actually be used because it is designed well, balanced appropriately, etc. So all this led to the ultimate question... can this stick / battery powered vacuum replace my corded Shark? By the way, Ive owned many horrifically expensive vacuums in the past and came to the conclusion that I dont keep any longer than 5 years because of the advancements in cleaning. Well, I cannot answer whether or not this has fully replaced the Shark... but I can tell you that I am definitely leaning in that direction. [1] I use this vacuum daily - I NEVER did that with the corded vac. [2] This vacuum absolutely compares in cleaning performance - much to my surprise. [3] Not dealing with a cord is a HUGE benefit and one that I could never describe adequately. I didnt think so (intellectually), but WOW, and I mean WOW. It is really hard to imagine using the corded vac unless I absolutely must. [4] It is light, maneuverable, well-built, quiet, and easy to use. I have only been using this vacuum for a few days... so if things go sideways - I WILL BE BACK TO LET YOU KNOW! This isnt a cheap vacuum, so my expectations are that, properly maintained, it will not break or degrade in performance. I hope this helped. So long as this purchase will not harm you financially, I truly recommend this vacuum. If you have a lot of hard surface flooring, you may wish to consider one of the felt roller head attachments (3rd party offer some for about $60 as opposed to the Dyson at $130). I also purchased a trigger lock, to reduce finger fatigue during protracted vacuum sessions. And finally, an extension hose and extra filters. If you do purchase, make certain to watch some of the great videos on YouTube explaining how to pull apart the vacuum every 6 months or so (depending on usage) to super clean / maintain the system. ENJOY

NOTE: Update below... Just got the new V11 from Amazon. Shipping and packaging was excellent. Now onto the actual Dyson, the VAC itself is amazing!!! However, the Torque Motorhead was a big disappointment on my hardwood floors. The $100 Dirt Devil I have does a better job, but it’s corded, which is why I went for the Dyson. I heard so many positive things about the V11 that I assumed I was just using it incorrectly. Turns out I wasn’t and that the head it comes with isn’t great when using it on bare floors. I contacted Dyson and they said I have to spend another $150 for a bare floor head from the V10 model. Just a heads up for those with mostly hardwoods, look into a V10 package that comes with both heads as it’s a better deal. It comes with both heads and since the V10 is the last model, it’s much cheaper to boot! That being said, the suction seems good on this thing. With the front vent on the included head “closed”, this thing sucks itself to the floor!! Battery life on turbo mode is about 5 or 6 minutes which is enough to super clean a small or medium sized room. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) On regular mode I can do most of my house, which is amazing. It’s also pretty quiet. I don’t like loud noises so I wear noise canceling headphones and listen to music when doing things like mowing and vacuuming. I didn’t need them at all with the Dyson. Overall pretty impressive, just that initial shock of seeing debris left behind on the hardwoods makes me want to give only three stars. I’m hoping the new bare floor head helps. UPDATE: Ive been using the Bare Floor Tool for a few months now and it is 100 times better than the Torque Motorhead on bare floors. It picks up way more stuff and the battery life is more than doubled!! It can also roll over things (like Cheerios) where the Torque Motorhead will just push them around. Also Ive noticed that my bin is fuller when using the Bare Floor Tool, as if the Torque Motorhead was somehow leaving find dust and dirt behind. IF you have all bare floors, try to find a Dyson kit that has the vac and the Bare Floor Tool. The Torque Motorhead will be useless to you. Mine lives in the back of the closet now.

I have only had the vacuum a few days and I absolutely love it. It has strong suction and different ranges of suction so if I want a suction boost I can get it, but the regular suction is strong. I love that it gets around my chair legs because of its maneuverability. Amazing maneuverability. You can stand in one place and get around all the chair legs without having to move around to each side like you would with a regular vacuum cleaner. It gets under my kitchen cupboards where my old vacuum didnt fit. With my regular vacuum I had to stop and install a flexible hose and keep pulling the vacuum around to use the short hose that was attached which is awkward. I can go from carpet to floors and it automatically adjusts. The tools are fantastic! Any changing of tools is quick and easy, much easier and quicker than a regular vacuum and there are many more tools. I feel like I am getting all my vacuuming done faster from living room to kitchen to stairs and the special cleaning such as under the kitchen cupboards, under dining room chairs, tables, stairs, blinds, shelves, upholstered furniture, door tracks, around the dryer, etc. I would have skipped alot of that with my old vacuum because it was too time consuming and inconvenient. The handheld option makes alot of those jobs so much easier than trying to pull a vacuum around so you can use the flexible hose. There are many tools that come with the vacuum that are so useful. The vacuum is lightweight so it is great for stairs and much quieter than my old vacuum. I have never run out of power before I have finished vacuuming. It is hot here because it is summer and the motor puts off a light breeze and cools me off while I am vacuuming. I like the LCD screen which shows how much power I have used and how much I have left. It also lets you know how much power you have for the level of suction you choose. If you use the Power boost for all your vacuuming you would run out of power a little earlier than if you use the regular or eco suction but I have never had to. It charges within a few hours so it is always ready to use. I am so happy I made this purchase! It is a great vacuum. It is expensive. That is the only slight negative I can think of.

Compared to the Tineco V12S the Dyson V11 is a basic vacuum. BUT the Tineco (the one I bought) lasted only two days. I have yet to see any of my Dyson products to fail. The V11 does not have a trigger lock, the motorized brush does not have any illumination and it comes with only one battery (the Tineco has a spare). It is heavier the the Tineco. The Dyson vacuums color scheme was outsourced to a kindergarten coloring class. And the V11 is heavier than the Tineco...but, again, the Tinecos are not made to last. Read the reviews. Also, te Dyson customer support must be better than Tinecos (Although I had no reason to call Dyson. Only had to deal Tinecos support.)

We rent a home with hardwood floors and Mexican tile in some rooms. When we moved here I had a Sebo (very expensive German brand) that was supposed to rival Dyson. The Sebo would not allow me to turn off the brushes and was damaging the hardwood. Bought an expensive parquet floor attachment with hoses. It was so huge, cumbersome, and miserable to use, dragging the upright and messing around with hoses and cords, that I hated having to vacuum at all and it took over 2 hours. Before Sebo I owned a Dyson upright and still cant believe I let myself get talked into the Sebo after my first Dyson gave up the ghost. Always loved my Dyson. The Sebo is mega expensive (altogether we had over $1000 wrapped up in it with base price and extra attachments). I thought the price of the V11 Animal was pretty steep, but now I can do my entire home (3-bedrooms, huge kitchen/dining/living room, laundry room, 2 baths, and sun room in a little over an hour and never take it off the Eco setting. That includes 1 large area rug, 1 5 runner, and a door mat. It rarely takes more than 1-1/2 hours and thats getting under beds, too. The brush on the floor attachment is strong enough to pull things off the rugs, but it does NOT damage the hardwood finish. Its super simple to pull out at a moments notice to clean up dry spills, use the power brush to clean cat fur from cushions, or just do a quick traffic lane maintenance mid-week. No hoses to trip over or yards of cord to fight with. Ive only had Dyson back in my home a little over a month, but Im so happy that I bought it. Keep in mind I have had 7 orthopedic surgeries (neck, lumbar spine, knee, both feet, and both hands) and deal with the attendant disabilities that have resulted, but I can do this and still stand upright when Im done. A little tired and sore, but I can handle it like a breeze compared to what I went through with the Sebo. I do notice that it is harder to push on the rugs so not sure how Id handle an entire carpeted house, but still, I highly recommend this machine!
