> 3 dayMy 17 year old Sears canister finally gave up so I went vacuum shopping. I went to the appliance store to look at options. They had Miele which I knew has a good reputation. But the salesman told me not to buy it - that the Dyson Animal was better - that he had two of them. And they didnt sell Dyson. I then researched various styles of vacuum. The stick vacs seemed best for ease of use, but I was worried about suction and time of use between charges. I finally concluded a stick vac would suit me. Of those the Dysons seemed best. After reading the specs, I decided the Animal would do the job but splurged on the Torque Drive for the nicer UI and extra tool. Ive had it for a couple of months now, and am very pleased. First thing I did was my carpeted stairs, that hadnt been done thoroughly for ages. It did a great job, though I had to empty it several times in the process. The small beater brush tool was great for this. The battery life has proven to be more than enough for my needs. I dont think the suction is as good as a plug-in canister machine. But it is good enough. My conclusion is that convenience wins - that the machine I use beats the more powerful one I dont use! Small complaints: The transparent dust bin always looks dirty, even right after emptying; While there is storage for two spare tools on the long tube, and storage for more on the wall hanging bracket, there is one extra tool for which there is no storage space. (I think this is only with the Torque Drive which has an extra tool the Animal doesnt have.)

> 3 dayI was cautious prior to buying this and read all the negative reviews but decided to buy. Glad I did. I wanted to comment on some of the negative comments with my opinion to help skeptical buyers like myself. So, 1. the plastic wall mount base, its not to flimsy. It holds the vacuum great if you slam it around like rubber weights in the gym. 2. If you see my picture I mounted it so its supported with the attachment on to help hold the weight and prevent the bottom from being caught. It has a lot of leverage on drywall anchors if its torqued on, as is anything mounted on sheet rock. I did this for my V7 as well and has worked great for years. 3. Use the right settings for the head when going from carpet to hardwood; the center setting or minus setting (letting in more air) and it works great. It picks up sand, cherries, screws, peanuts or what ever just fine. 4. Its not the manufactures fault there isnt an outlet in your closet. 5. The directions are vague and little under done, but this isnt a complicated item either. 6. Is this the right vacuum is the biggest question of all. I have a V7 for the second floor that is all carpet and it works great for about 1000 sq. ft. of quick clean up and is about $200 less. We went with this for the downstairs because we were too lazy to keep going upstairs and this one worked better transitioning on an off our rugs to hardwood that we on the first floor. We have a 1 year old and teenagers so this was a great addition that quickly and efficiently keep the floors clean for the baby. Im so over swiffer mops that dont really work. 7. Deep cleaning ability is good. We have a Kirby that we use one time a year (just before we have the carpets shampooed). The other 364 days of the year the Dysons do all the work. 8. Battery life, great in this V11. If you need more, vacuum more often or make life changes..lol. Ive cleaned the whole bottom floor and used on the car and still never got below 50% on the V11. The v7 would have needed to be charged at least once for that amount. So that maybe a decision point. Lastly the V11 has been said to be unbalanced in weight and awkward. If you see the second picture and use the attachment holder it offsets the slight misbalance. But really, it is 6 lbs. if that gives you issues get a gym membership, really. Oh and the V11 has a detachable battery that the v7 doesnt. If multiple charges for long runs is what you may need then that maybe a decision point. If not you may want to save some cash and go with the v7. Ive also purchased cheaper model of cordless vacuums but they dont last and preform like Dysons so youll get what you pay for.

> 3 dayEven though there are close to 5,000 reviews on this product and this will probably never get read, I feel compelled to write something because this has been a game-changer for me. Apparently, bending down and plugging in a vacuum was inhibiting to using my former vacuum. I did not know this until I got the Dyson. The Dyson is always charged up, and now I can just grab it and start to vacuum. No more stooping down and trying to pick up one hair off the bathroom floor (where, you know, theres never just one.) Instead, I just run in with this cordless vacuum cleaner. So convenient! Its also easier than my previous vacuum to switch out the attachments and seems just as powerful, even though it is much smaller. But its small size makes it a lot more nimble and easier to get in awkward and tiny spaces. So yes, it has a nice amount of pros. But if Im being honest, the best part about it is the no bending down to plug in a cord. I know this seems like such a minuscule benefit and of course, there are other vacuums that do this. But this one is powerful, unlike my other cordless vacs. Really, it does everything my giant full-size vacuum did but it does it better and because its so convenient, I use the vacuum more and have more positive connotations with this one. I dont know anyone who really likes to spend their money on boring vacuums and that kind of thing, but I see what all the hype is about. I am not a neat freak yet I use this all the time and my house feels so much cleaner. So happy I made this purchase!

> 3 dayI bought a Dyson V10 a few years ago, and I love it. I moved to a new house, and my stuff has been in storage for several months, and my place was just getting too dusty for simple sweeping clean and/or mopping the floors. So I decided to give the V11 a chance. The Time Remaining Meter: Thats a cool feature, but not terribly important for me personally. It was easy to get accustomed to how much vacuuming I could do with the V10 before I had to charge it again. The Real-Time Carpet/Floor Adjustment: Not very impressed with the smart speed setting when rolling over throw rugs, at least. I have tile and wood floors, and only have small throw rugs in the bathroom, for example. It doesnt really register and speed up until Im about 40%-60% done with the 3x5 carpet. I think it would be more convenient if you have larger carpet space to vacuum over. Conclusion: Other than those two additions, this is basically the V10, but revised. Either model is a good purchase. I only had cheap $30-$40 Dirt Devil small vacuums for 20+ years, and got tired of the terrible efficiency. It also was annoying when a model I had would no longer have replacement bags and pieces after a couple/few years. The Dyson was initially something that made me think What the heck are you doing spending this much for a VACUUM?!, only to go home and vacuum my entire place in 20 minutes. I was floored (pun intended), because it used to take 20 minutes to do just the living room! So I recommend considering these models if you want a mobile, not too heavy, and reliable vacuum that is really easy to empty the dust into the trash. The attachments are nice as well, but... ADVICE: Adjust your budget to include the fluffy cleaner head. That is amazing if you have tile and/or wooden floors.

> 3 dayJust got the dyson v11 torque drive today. I fully charged it and tested it out. Overall design and technology is fantastic, the dustbin is super easy to empty, and battery life is long. The wall mount holds 2 attachments, and the tube of the vacuum has a clip that also holds 2 more attachments as well. The digital display is convenient, counts down how much battery life is left in real time. Ive tried several other vacs and returned them all, finally decided to try dyson. The power this vacuum has surpasses all others. My only cons are that on thicker rugs, its harder to push, but thats because the suction is so strong. Also I prefer am on/off switch instead of trigger. Time will tell if this vac is worth it. Also, if you buy this vacuum, ONLY PURCHASE DIRECTLY FROM AMAZON LLC!! IF YOU BUY FROM A 3RD PARTY SELLER, DYSON WILL NOT HONOR THE 2 YR WARRANTY. I did my research before I made the purchase, contacted dyson about the warranty details. There are sellers on Amazon that will lie to you and say the warranty is guaranteed, and even have it in the description. Dont do it. I will update with more details on longevity in a couple months.

Greater than one weekIve had decades of vacuums, including Kirby. This is the one Ive been waiting for. Light and powerful. Changing accessories couldnt be easier. The display on the end of the filter told me I had a plug in the wand and to clean the filter (also exactly how to). The suction grabs it all. The soft brush did a better job on fans and blinds than my shop vac. The charge lasts longer than my will to vacuum. My only negative is that I developed a blister on the inside of my index finger after first day use. The trigger might need a redesign. For now, I wear a glove.
