Greater than one weekSo I should Premise that I only use this on the max setting , that is the highest of the 3 settings. So on the high setting I love it. It only lasts 15 minutes but my god will it suck so much dirt out of your carpet more first then you even new was there. ( it’s disgusting but awesome ) — it’s like the Kirby but with out 200 pounds and ten minutes of prep time. The problem is once you use the vacuum on the high setting you never wanna go back down because it doesn’t work nearly as well yes it will pick up all the dirt you can see but after picking up all the dirt can’t see you just simply can’t ever use the regular setting again maybe for someone with hardwood but I have carpet. One thing is after I first bought it I went on a cleaning spree and the next day my elbow hurt and it continued to hurt for almost a month I’m holding the vacuum above my head I think but it’s not the vacuum spot I’m out of shape so I’m not really holding that against it. But be warned I wouldn’t suggest anyone’s grandmother vacuum their blinds or tapestries with it for that reason. Also I definitely suggest purchasing the offbrand stand that goes with it because it just makes it so neat and easy for all of the attachments and riches place over on its stand which also keeps charging. I am however afraid to vacuum up anything nasty or sticky because of the cost of the vacuum and since the filter is reusable I don’t know I’m just worried I vacuumed up wet dog hair once with the Kirby planet has not horrible ever sense so that that kind of bothers me when you pay so much for something you’re hesitant to do certain things with it because you might break it which then overrides the purpose of getting it in the first place but I still like it

Greater than one weekI am not a cleaning gadget person. Give me a rag and some Simple Green, a mop, a broom and a vacuum and thats pretty much it. I have purchased several vacuums I thought were good (always more money than I liked), but always came up short for cleaning. I finally bit the bullet and purchased this Dyson V11 Animal vacuum. I figured I would ultimately disappointed again, but for more money this time. I was wrong! I have been blown away by how much better this vacuum works than any I have had before. I love, LOVE not being tethered to the wall and dithering with a cord all the time. This vacuum has so much more power than my past corded vacuums, it is easy to handle, the head is low enough to go under my furniture, it is easy to empty and it doesnt give me a backache as my others have. The battery lasts long enough for me to do our 1850 sq foot house end to end. We have hardwood floors with scattered wool area rugs and having the vacuum adjust to each new surface without my help is pretty darned neat and IT WORKS. We live in the Rocky Mountains, so we have an additional season....the season of mud. We have two cats and two dogs that love the outdoors and come and and go freely through a pet door. So we have A LOT of dirt and A LOT of hair. I am not a happy house keeper. I want to do it once a week and be done with it. That leaves a few days of the week with some pretty dirty floors. Not anymore. This vacuum is so easy to use and so effective that I grab it often and keep the floors up. AND WOW does it pick stuff up and suck all the dirt out of my rugs. They are definitely brighter and I was surprised to be able to actually see a difference. I do not hesitate at all to recommend it.

> 3 dayI love vacuuming!! It has incredible suction for wood floors, grabs dirt on the edges of the head of the vac, automatically adjusts for the area rug and I am totally amazed at the amount of dirt and dust comes out of that rug. I love watching the dust bin fill up! I must lead a very boring life to get so excited about a vacuum cleaner.

Greater than one weekIm still new to this vacuum. So far Im enjoying it. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because I like it very much with some minor down-sides (see below). The charge seems to last more than long enough to do my entire 1500 sf, 3 bedroom, 2 BA house. The suction seems strong. I enjoy the feature that lets the vacuum adjust its suction depending on the surface (hard floor versus rugs). Unlike some people, I dont find the need to hold down an easy-to-operate button to keep the power on a problem at all; it means that the vacuum only runs when you want it to. I share the sense of some reviewers that it would be better if the vacuum more easily stood by itself. I havent yet looked into the question some folks have raised about the desire for a more easily swappable replacement battery, since the battery doesnt run out of juice during my whole-house vacuum. Also, Im a small person without huge upper body strength and Its not particularly hard for me to operate this machine one-handed. However, its a little heavier on the wrist than I might have anticipated. I also appreciate the swivel head, which lets me maneuver into spaces I wouldnt have thought the regular attachment could accommodate. I havent yet experimented with most of the attachments so cant comment yet on those. All in all, this is a most welcome change from my (high quality) canister vacuum - so much smoother and easier, none of the awkwardness of plugging, un-plugging, inadvertently yanking the cord out of the socket, etc. The convenience felt worth the difference in price.

> 3 dayMy partner and I love this vacuum. All of the attachments make it very versatile for use around the house. It does especially a great job on hard floors. I love that it can easily turn into a handheld vacuum which is great for use on stairs and dusting applications. It is not my first choice for thick carpet though as the power doesnt adapt very well so it kind of grabs onto the carpet and becomes difficult to move. My only other complaint is that it is a little bit on the heavy side.

> 3 dayI read reviews here and talked to friends with Dyson stick vacs and laughed when I read I use it every day! because there was no way I was going to vacuum EVERY day! But guess what?? I really do use it every day because it is so quick and easy to grab it and run it over the rug or that pet hair tumbleweed making its way down the hardwood hallway. I have FOUR pets. In the past, Id vacuum about once a week, or when the rug got so gross that I just couldnt stand it anymore and Id get out the Dyson Ball Animal (about 10+ years old and still awesome!) and clean it. That vac is amazing, dont get me wrong. But my new V11 Animal stick vac is just SOOO easy! Its a little top heavy, but that is to be expected. It has great suction and gets at that dog and cat hair with no problems. Super easy to empty. I keep it on auto and I really can tell when it switches for the rug and the floor - its very convenient! I dont have to change the heads for the wood vs carpet. It wont replace my big Dyson for major messes, but it will be used way more often. Ps. I bought a stand for it here off Amazon and it sits in my coat closet with its big brother. EDIT: This thing emits a sound that dogs cannot stand! I thought my dog was just crazy until we adopted a second dog recently and it drives him crazy, too. As soon as its on he starts barking. Even from the other room when he could not see it, he still barks like crazy. Stop it and he stops barking. That wont make me love it any less, but something to be aware of.

> 3 dayWe were in the market for another cordless vacuum as the other one we had didnt do very well, so we decided to go for the gusto and invest in a higher quality one that we felt would last longer and do better. With that in mind we finally ended up looking at this Dyson model. After reading the reviews from here and elsewhere we look the plunge, although it was initially hard justifying the money we were putting into it. My wife is the skeptic of the family, so for her seeing was believing with this. She headed upstairs to vacuum the entire upstairs, which includes four bedrooms, two closets, and two baths. When she came down with it full of junk this thing had pulled off the floor she was a convert. Her baseline has always been her Rainbow vacuum that she swears by, but after using this and seeing how well it cleans shes now less eager to haul the Rainbow out and lug it around. Given the long battery life of it, and the incredible suction it has, I now frequently use it to do a quick cleaning of the house as I know its sucking up whatever it comes in contact with. Ive been especially impressed with the suction it has and the battery life of it. Ive vacuumed the entire upstairs and downstairs in a 2900 square foot house and still have plenty of battery life left. It obviously uses less battery on the tiles floors we have in the downstairs area and part of the upstairs, but for the carpeted areas it still gives me plenty of time to thoroughly clean them and still have plenty of battery life left. Both of us are totally sold on this vacuum and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a cordless vacuum that could very well end your need for a lumbering beast like our Rainbow. The cost is not cheap, but in this case I would say you get what you pay for.

> 3 dayWere long-time Dyson users and have been generally pretty happy with their products. This V11 cordless product is so woefully underwhelming that I felt like I literally flushed $600 down the toilet. I just vacuumed this morning, and Im still pretty agitated from the experience so bear with me. It is winter and we have a yard. Leaf bits do get dragged in along with blades of dead grass. We have a Giant Schnauzer who doesnt hardly shed and two cats. Our floors are mostly bare tile and wood, tho we do have an 9x12 area rug in one area. Total area being vacuumed is around 600 sq ft. Not once this morning did I have to dump the (small) canister because it was full. i did, however, have to take the wand off, take the canister outside, slide it open, and dislodge hair and debris from the (very small) inlet hole between the wand and the canister. SIX TIMES! Not sticks or rocks or other hard objects...just blades of grass, some leaf debris, and a little hair. And, just to be clear, pulling out the visible blockage at the inlet wont do because there is stuff backed up into the internal wand centered in the canister. To get up into the center of the canister requires a thin stick or a coat hanger and a bit of finagling...all while holding this dusty canister outside where the slightest breeze causes a dust storm right in front of the person trying to unblock the canister. Ive come to the conclusion that Dyson engineers must have tested this on glitter in a lab setting while wearing hazmat suits. Oh, and lest I forget, if you have one of these rugs that has the surface cut at the same height, forget it. To keep this vacuum from bogging down on our area rug, this product has to be turned to the ECO setting which means there is barely any suction. In essence, I could sweep that rug with a broom and get more stuff off of it. It does do okay on sculptured rugs for what its worth. There are some good points about this product: highly maneuverable, good battery life, lightweight. In the end, tho, I could have gotten all that with a much, much cheaper cordless vacuum.

Greater than one weekIt was time to replace our old Dyson cord vacuum. I think it was 17 years old. Since it had performed so well over the years, I immediately looked to Dyson again. I admit I was a bit skeptical that a smaller stick vacuum could do the job in an almost 2000 sq ft house. We are senior citizens who have an active lifestyle, live in the mountains off of dusty roads, have house cats and 2 Aussie dogs. Since we also have horses and acreage, we are busy and the cleaning sometimes takes a lower priority. I wanted something that was easy to use, quick, and not having to drag a cord around sounded really good! Hubby thought I was making a big mistake. But, after assembling it and using it today, he has changed his mind, and I really, really like this handy and powerful vacuum. Some of the features take a bit of getting used to, like taking the tube with the power head off to dump the bin. In fact, I was concerned about the small size of the bin, and how often I might need to dump it. But after using it to vacuum most of the house, Im no longer concerned. Im used to it now, and it takes just a moment. And...it did a great job, our area rugs look great, and it moves so easily to our hardwood floors. One really big plus for us is that it runs off battery charge. We live off the grid and generate our own electricity with solar and wind. On cloudy, windless days, I was basically forbidden to vacuum, unless I started a generator. But now, I can have a charge ready and get it done! Couldnt be happier. If, having using this for a time we find something to change our opinion, I will edit my review to reflect it. Can definitely recommend this product!

Greater than one weekI’m 77, so I’ve had a lot of vacuums in my life. This is far and above the best. No cord to lift over. Suction is awesome for all the pet hair. Battery life is great. Dyson has thought this one out in detail.
