> 24 hourVery easy to apply. Sticks well and until you press it firmly in place you can usually reposition it. I dont have any concerns with the tape and recently bought 2 more rolls for the next phase of my deck. After 3 months in the Texas heat, the tape is holding up well.... of course its way too early to rate the durability.

> 24 hourThe idea is nice, however it is better and cheaper actually to go with silicone or rubber paint, you can paint all the joints including the top (for example this https://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Rubber-Roof-Coating-Sealant/dp/B01EM9GAA8/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=silicone%2Broof%2Bpaint&qid=1634698430&sr=8-5&th=1) for this price. I used them so cannot return

> 24 hourTape stuck quite well and as easy to work with. I thought the length would be more than sufficient, but what with three stringers and all the other places I found to use it on, like railings, it was just enough.

> 24 hourI recently installed about 800 feet of this on a very large deck we are having built in Florida. The previous all wood deck had rotted. Were replacing that deck with 25-year Trex and using ground contact lumber for the joists and framing. The previous frame had rotted from the top down, primarily associated with screw penetration used to attach the wooden decking. I wanted to give this deck as long a life as possible. Since its brand new, I dont really know if the joist tape will work for its intended purpose (sealing screw penetrations), so my rating is based on quality of product, ease of application, durability during the construction process, comments from our deck contractor, and cost compared to its main competitor sold by Trex. Its easy to apply, albeit youll sometimes get a bit of butyl on your hands. Just remove a bit of the protective film from one end and leave the tag end sticking out to the side, stick that end to a joist, line up and lay about 3-4 feet of tape on the joist, hold that end down with your thumb, reach back to the film and pull it down to your thumb and stick it, smooth the tape with your hand, and repeat. The contractors said it actually made laying the deck faster because the decking tended to stay in place as they were laying it, the plastic facing grabbed the hidden plastic fastener so it didnt move, and once installed, the black plastic fastener was hard to see against the black facing. The tape also held up remarkably well to being walked on and having boards dragged over it, though I did have to make a few repairs. Because of delays in getting our full order of Trex decking, the tape on part of the deck has been sitting exposed to rain and sun for several weeks and still looks great. Its about 30% less expensive than the competing brand, but I didnt use the competitor, so I cant compare quality. Also, the customer service was great. I underestimated the amount needed and the company owner made sure I received my reorder on time and at no additional cost.

> 24 hourI have used this in the past around a pool deck. It was quite sticky and was not a problem using as long as you remove the backing as you go. I recently used it again rebuilding a deck under a hot tub. It seems that bromine used in hot tubs will cause treated wood to break down and rot. After five years I had to replace the deck so I now have composite decking on top with this tape to protect the joist below.i feel confident using this tape will stop any rot below the decking. Although its not inexpensive, I recommend using this product.

> 24 hourKnowing there was the concept of there being joist tape most influences my rating. For the minimal cost, an almost guaranteed way to prevent the most common way your deck joists are going to rot seems like it should be a requirement of any deck build. The people that built my deck did not use it and that seems criminal unless this concept did not exist 10 years ago. As far as this particular product, it did exactly what I wanted, seemed to be good quality, adhered well. It is like slightly wider electrical tape with some roughness on the side where the deck boards would sit. I would use this product again next time I need it.

> 24 hourI used this Butyl tape on the tops of the joists on my new deck... It was easy to use, and will add years to my deck. Would recommend.
