> 3 dayExpectations: robot silently keeps the house clean with a 45 day auto emptying bag. Reality: noise levels are uncomfortable on hardwood or carpet. Takes an hour to clean 400 square feet, then gets tangled in hair and requires manual service. It will not set up without wifi, I spent over an hour trying to use a hotspot, it would not go though activation, so a couple times I did run it manually by pushing the button. One thing I did not hear mentioned is the NOISE, that thing is whirring, sucking and bumping into objects. It’s not pleasant to be in the same apartment while it cleans, definitely not for a work from home arrangement. What prompted me to write this review is the fact that the first ever scheduled run after connecting to wifi simply failed. I come in and find the robot dead. Later I see a notification on my phone with a cleaning instructions. I ended up taking out both brushes and cutting the hair which is tangled at both bases. Previously I cut hair from the triangular spinner. So here goes my dream of low maintenance automatic cleaning. I thought it would keep cleaning for over a month before needing my attention .The hair (over 20 inches long) is not going away. So it will keep jamming every few runs. The speed is not great, our house is mostly empty hardwood with some rugs. The history says it cleaned 400 square feet in an hour. None of the jobs ever were completed, mostly because I got tired of the noise. I moved the base station a number of times, and each map is broken, looks like I need to do another reset after finding a permanent position. Overall, mediocre. I hope the motor would not burn out due to the hair situation

Greater than one weekI love that I dont have to pick it up and empty it every day! I can set it to run anytime and pick the areas that it vacuums! Worth every penny!!

> 3 dayIt just quit. The company sent a new battery but it did not fix the problem, now the year warranty is out. Going to have to use the extended warranty that I have.

> 3 dayIt took a while to get a map and once complete it seems more confused than ready to clean. It’s constantly running around ‘thinking’ more than cleaning it seems. I wish it had a remote where I could help it out like my last one did! Overall for the price and comparing my first brand (Deebot) I don’t think it’s far superior other than self cleaning.

Greater than one weekI’m baffled how this robot can consistently get stuck somewhere in a 1500 sqf space after mapping it out, making constant trips to recharge and worse completely kill its battery again and again when going nowhere. Somehow my previous apparently stupid robot vacuum was fine for years. But two months in I want i want to throw this out despite the high price tag. In a given week of daily cleanings it usually manages to clean the apartment once. Every other time I must save it. It’s just silly.

> 3 dayWhat a waste of money. I thought I was upgrading from a much cheaper off brand, but definitely not. We have a very simple ~2000 sq ft first floor and this device couldn’t handle it. After over 5 hours of mapping, where it couldn’t find its way through four foot passage ways to the other side of the house, this pile of junk canceled the mapping and disregarded all the data it had collected on its own. Wtf?? It cancelled itself? Disregarded all mapping data it had collected?? How is that possible? And watching it, I can’t believe the way it went about itself. It always made the wrong choose of direction. It was like a child was driving it. I started it at 5pm and found it the next morning dead and half on its base. Makes no sense. It literally couldn’t even align itself to the charging pads. Every time I run it since, it gets lost and can’t seem to make it home. Even when I explicitly send it home. I’ve even gone so far and closed all doors in our house so it has a smaller space and it still doesn’t return home.

> 3 dayIt does struggle a bit with deeper dust or larger pieces of dirt so I do still use my Dyson once every now and again, but I set the Roomba to clean everything downstairs every night and it keeps the pet hair perfectly under control (I have one medium coated dog, one short haired cat, and one medium to long haired cat whose hobby is shedding huge clumps of fur everywhere, as well as frequently watching my grandmothers cat, so, lots of fur). Ill likely get a second one for upstairs at some point.

Greater than one weekI love Roombas...Ive had 3 over the years, and they are great if you have the right setup for them. Doesnt eliminate vacuuming entirely but really spreads it out, especially in main areas. My problem with this one is that I bought the base that empties itself, and had no idea it requires disposable bags! They are expensive! I would never have bought it had I realized that - I hate dealing with disposable bags, and its completely unnecessary. I would rather dump it out myself. They could definitely design this with something you wouldnt have to replace when you empty it. This just seems like a money grab to me. Save your money and get the version without the self-emptying bin that requires expensive refills every time.
