I love that I dont have to pick it up and empty it every day! I can set it to run anytime and pick the areas that it vacuums! Worth every penny!!

yes, its loud when the house is asleep, but a welcome sight midday. weve 2 dogs & this keeps up easily. sounds like a jet taking off when it empties. easy to set-up & app makes it seamless. voice command works but name your rooms simply & distinctly. dont know why I waited so long to get one...

Expectations: robot silently keeps the house clean with a 45 day auto emptying bag. Reality: noise levels are uncomfortable on hardwood or carpet. Takes an hour to clean 400 square feet, then gets tangled in hair and requires manual service. It will not set up without wifi, I spent over an hour trying to use a hotspot, it would not go though activation, so a couple times I did run it manually by pushing the button. One thing I did not hear mentioned is the NOISE, that thing is whirring, sucking and bumping into objects. It’s not pleasant to be in the same apartment while it cleans, definitely not for a work from home arrangement. What prompted me to write this review is the fact that the first ever scheduled run after connecting to wifi simply failed. I come in and find the robot dead. Later I see a notification on my phone with a cleaning instructions. I ended up taking out both brushes and cutting the hair which is tangled at both bases. Previously I cut hair from the triangular spinner. So here goes my dream of low maintenance automatic cleaning. I thought it would keep cleaning for over a month before needing my attention .The hair (over 20 inches long) is not going away. So it will keep jamming every few runs. The speed is not great, our house is mostly empty hardwood with some rugs. The history says it cleaned 400 square feet in an hour. None of the jobs ever were completed, mostly because I got tired of the noise. I moved the base station a number of times, and each map is broken, looks like I need to do another reset after finding a permanent position. Overall, mediocre. I hope the motor would not burn out due to the hair situation

This is the fourth Roomba I have purchased. This is likely the last Roomba I will ever purchase. I bought it for the self-emptying feature so that I didnt have to remember to empty the bin every night. I also liked having a smart map so that I could schedule it to clean different areas of the house each day. The battery life was also longer than the previous robot, so, between scheduling smaller areas and the extended battery life, it would fun for a much shorter period each day. Well, it all sounded great until it came to actually performing. Some days it would back off the platform while turning get stuck--no cleaning those days. Other days it would report that it was stuck. When I came home it would be sitting in the middle of a room with no obstacles anywhere close. Other (many) days it would report that it had rebooted and just be sitting with its light blinking. Most of those days it would report an error with multiple options to clear. I tried all of them to no avail. I bought the vacuum to be a timesaver, not to spend my time troubleshooting a buggy, unstable system. iRobot, Ive enjoyed your products for over a decade. If this is the best you can produce now, Im afraid we will have to part ways.

    Greater than one week

We, or rather I, named our robot Sancho Villa not sure why, it was just the name that popped in my head when prompted by the app. We have two dogs, one of which is a golden retriever, and two young kids and travertine tile floors throughout most of the home. The robot does a great job of keeping the floors relatively clean, which if you know anything about golden (or young kids) is no small feat. It’s a bit loud and takes quite awhile to vacuum the entire home but that’s a petty complaint. So far, so good on the mapping and being able to tell the robot to vacuum the kitchen or whatever other room. (FYI - you can designate/name rooms in the app). Last tip, if you get an error notification from the app and you need to pick up your robot, try to put it back as close to where you picked it up as possible or your robot will get lost and meander aimlessly through the house trying to figure out where it’s at. Expensive but worth it. Oh….buy extra vacuum bags and side brushes right away. Would recommend the factory replacement rather than 3rd party stuff.

This is my first iRobot but third Robot-Vacuum. So far, I’m very pleased. Once it maps the house it’s off. Best part is I don’t have to remember to empty the bin.

Works well for keeping wood floors clean. The one problem I encountered with the iRobot i4 was during set up. I created an account on the iRobot Home app, but the i4 was not syncing to the wifi network. I also bought a M6 iRobot mop and there were no issues connecting the mop to the app to my iPhone. I have an iPhone 8 and there is currently an issue with the iRobot Home app and iPhone. I was able to get the i4 to sync and connect through the app with my wifes Samsung phone. After that I can see the i4 on my iPhone, start and stop vacuum jobs, and program which rooms Id like cleaned. I am able to look at the data the vacuum provides after each use. It tells me how long it was running, what areas of the house it vacuumed, how many square feet were cleaned. It is used daily and keeps dirt and pet hair down and out of the way.

It’s been a pretty great vacuum, it’s a little to loud to run while I’m home but it has a nice auto feature to run when I leave which makes up for it. 18 months later running once a week the battery life isn’t what it used to be and having more trouble keeping it running. It’s been well worth it though, I get a lot of compliments on how good the floors look

I have four small dogs and I don’t know why I waited so long to buy the iRobot Roomba!

There’s so much I love about this thing…my apartment has never been cleaner! But, it constantly is getting stuck on a rug, a cat toy, or under my couch. Also, if it decides it doesn’t want to communicate with your wifi is just doesn’t do anything and fails to start. I have to manually reboot it more than I care to, considering it’s supposed to be automated. It also often leaves debris behind if it’s not just right. Also, the battery drains quick, so it’s best to work in areas rather than the whole space, otherwise it has to return and charge for a couple hours before it continues. I recommend this one as the bare minimum Roomba, don’t get anything less than this unless you basically want to do as much work as you would manually vacuuming.
