I bought this item three years ago. It works just fine. However, I have misplaced the covers that came with it. The company has no way to replace them. So, if you buy this item - do not misplace those covers, or else make sure both sockets are being used in bad weather.

Bad heather didn’t matter for this guy. Keep working never an issue.

I bought two of these for my holiday lighting where I didnt have a programmable switch. These smart outlets worked perfectly.

I have several TP-link Kasa Smart Plugs and a Kasa light switch, so I wanted to match my outside plug for the Christmas lights I had up on my fence. I couldnt find anything and then came across this. I didnt know or even think if my Christmas lights were dimmable, but knew it would still work if they werent. Lo and behold my lights were dimmable; so, I set it at 75% and put the lights on a schedule and it all worked perfectly, and was visible/availble for control in my Kasa Phone app where I set up the % brightness and schedule.

Easy to use. Instructions are as easy as plugging in a power cord..

This works really well. The amperage of my motor is about 13 amps and I have had no problems with the 15 amp smart plug. I wish I would have bought a double smart plug since both can be programmed differently.

Ive tried several of the other cheaper smart plugs and its hit or miss if they work or not. I have 3 Kasa plugs including this outdoor one and they were all simple to connect (less than 5 minutes), integrate with google home and work just as I need them too. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks extra and get the Kasa so you dont have to deal with the headaches.

Let’s face it - if you’re interested in buying this. You’re probably interested in setting up some outdoor string lights that you’d like to dim, and more importantly add to something like home assistant. You’ll probably never dim the lights, and once you set up a automation probably never touch that either. But it’s all about setting it up and getting it to work right? It’s not like your wife is going to be super excited by how the string lights can be set at different brightness levels for different people outside :) With all that out the way. This is actually smaller than expected, but with the smaller size comes a smaller cord. So you’ll to decide if you want this hanging off your outside outlet or drop in an extension cord. It also connect super easily (local) through to home assistant. Where you can quickly set it up to act as a light entity. Then all the really nerdy stuff of setting up pointless automations can begin. Overall - I’d recommend it - just probably not going to be the coolest thing your wife has seen.

So far (only a week old) I LOVE this product! I’m using it to control a string of MARKET lights that I just installed and it’s been working flawlessly and the app to control things is very easy to understand. It dims my lights efficiently, and I have fallen in love with the timer, allowing me to start the illumination and end of the illumination whenever I care whether it’s minutes or hours.
