> 3 dayThe unit was installed for the directions exactly. When I installed the hot water shut off valve I noticed it was slightly loose. I ran the test for the instructions and there was no leaks and everything worked normally. 30 seconds after I started a load the wall side threaded adapter separated from the hot water shut-off valve completely. On closer inspection it appears to be held together with a c ring. So its not actually part of the shut-off valve. 140 degree hot water squirted out at me under 80 psi. By failing at this location the device itself could not shut off the hot water that was spraying out. This cause physical injury and property damage. This design flaw needs to be addressed by the manufacturer!

> 3 dayThis just saved me paying for water damage to my apartment and probably the ones below mine. Some seal in my washer went bad one afternoon in a fairly new washer and this device turned off the water just like it was supposed to. The alarm went off (never had a false alarm) and was loud. I can’t say enough about how grateful I am to have had this product.

> 3 dayI bought this to protect against major leaks in a 2nd floor laundry room. The product is well made and packaged, and includes good instructions. The included hardware for wall mounting was cheap (as is the case with most products), so I used my own. The included template for marking the holes was a nice touch. I first set it up in the kitchen to verify the operation of the valves and the water sensor......everything worked great. Once I connected the fittings to the original valves in the wall, I realized that I would not be able to push the washer back to its previous location. Would have lost a few inches do to the electronic valves and fitting. So I decided to cut slots in the plastic housing in the wall to allow the valves to move further into the wall. That worked great and allowed the washer to slide all the way back to its original position. I like the indicators on the control unit that let you know if the valves are open or closed. It also has a vacation mode that can be used to close the valves with the push of a button. And the valves also close in the event of a power failure. I am confident that this product will perform if necessary, which is worth the cost and time to install.

> 3 dayProduct works perfectly. It already saved us!! [someone] forgot to close the trap drain on the washer and ran a cycle… Water poured onto the floor, and this device shut off the water source immediately and alerted the household and me. It prevented damage to our ceiling, walls, and floor and saved us countless time and cost. I installed it in 15 minutes. Just follow the instructions carefully. I believe my device only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi…so it’s not working for you, check the installation instructions or contact the manufacturer to help you.

Greater than one weekBest safeguard purchase I have ever made. I am a professional mechanical, instrumentation and electrical engineer and I have purchased and or installed many pieces of equipment during my tenure. The MyGuard® Automatic Laundry Water Shut Off System Automatic Laundry Water Shut Off System rates up there with the best products I have ever received and installed. The whole kit is very well thought out, from packaging, the installation instructions, wiring, controls and hardware - perfect. The kit was a pleasure to install. Our laundry room is on the main floor of our ranch style home with walkout and fully finished basement. A leaking seal or hose rupturing would cost thousands in repairs so this kit is worth every nickel. Now to be sure it worked - I took a thimble from our sewing kit - filled it with water and dumped it out by the sensor - valves went shut within seconds of the dump. This kit gives us peace of mind for any laundry issues, now I need to research to see if MyGuard® makes something similar for our automatic dishwasher. Note: I did not use the supplied drywall anchors - purchased a more substantial pair.

> 3 dayQuality control issues! After installing only 3-4 months ago, the alarm goes off all the time when Im washing my clothes and there are no leaks...sensor and floor around it is bone dry. After multiple tries contacting the company I finally got through. The replacement worked for a few months then had the same issue again! Defective product and poor customer service. What a waste of $ and time. Dont buy this. There are alternatives on the market.

> 3 dayThankfully have not had a real life incident. :) Good investment if you have washer dryer above your living room.

> 3 dayI received a defective unit that triggered a false alarm, and the system wont reset itself. I contacted the customer service that put me in touch with the engineers responsible for designing the unit. They were very helpful, sent me two new units via overnight shipping. Unfortunately, the new unit also has the same issue - triggered a false alarm and wont reset. The problem is that without reset, water wont turn on. There is no way to overwrite the command. I am going to stop using it and may be even get a new unit. I couldnt be more pleased with the customer service but this product is not ready for consumers at this point.

21-12-2024As an earlier review stated, the packaging and instructions are very clear. It was easy enough to install. The problem came after I plugged it in. The instructions explain how the Test, Vacation, and Reset buttons work. I pressed the Test button, got a single beep and all the lights went out. After that there was no more response. I tried unplugging it, waiting, and plugging it back in. No lights, no sound, nothing. A slight ozone smell from the controller, I assume some electrical component failed. While it wasnt hard to install, it was annoying to have to turn around and uninstall everything and box it up to send back. I would order a replacement, but if something could fail that easily Im hesitant to put faith in the device to product the home from flooding. I hope my experience was an isolated issue.
