I previously had less expensive robot vacuum of another brand and it worked well for about a year until the pets killed it out of curiosity. I went about 6 months without it but definitely missed it with 2 dogs and 2 cats inside. I had major rotator cuff surgery some months back and vacuuming still irritates my shoulder so I went to looking for another robot vacuum to help. I settled on this one and love it! I run it at least once a day throughout the house common areas about half standard carpet and half LVP flooring. My house is large so it runs quite a bit. The battery charge can all the areas in one charge and I have it set to automatically return to station to empty when it gets full then it return vacuuming. It picks up pretty well and makes it much easier to keep carpets clean. I still vacuum weekly with my corded shark upright because cordless vacuums don’t have the power corded do but sure make life easier. This little guy picks up everything from flour to cat food, it’s low profile enables it to reach under cabinets and into corners and it’s pretty good at emptying its canister but sometimes will let you know it needs help and you have to manually emptying out the canister but overall it works great !

I would totally love this vacuum if we lived in a larger area. The suction is mostly great (although, when its going over the hardwoods, it leaves the debris by the rugs). Really, its one of the best robot vacuums that we have had. I appreciate that it maps the house and you can direct it to not go into certain areas. Its also great at maneuvering throughout the house. The largest issue that I have had is that I feel like I spend more time picking stuff up around the house than I would just running the vacuum myself. Overall, the vacuum works well, the suction is powerful, and it really does clean well. I recommend it for larger areas or homes, especially if you have a pet!

I bought this after doing a lot research. I thought it was nicely priced and had a lot of features considering the cost. It cleans very well sometimes going over the same area more than once. The self emptying is a particularly nice feature and on a cleaning run, it will often interrupt the cleaning to empty itself then start over where it left off. Its pretty good with hair as long as its not very long. I am not so sure that the bin on the base will go for 30 days as I usually empty mine after a week or at most 2 weeks. It is however not maintenance free... The filter in the robot as well as one in the base does need cleaning every now and then to maintain the great sucking power that it has and I usually take off the brush and remove the hair that is tangled there. As I have a baby in the house and hence lots of food particles on the floor, I activate the robot twice daily and clean the robot every 2 weeks though it is probably un-necessary to do it so often as the filter and brush are usually not very dirty at that time. My only negative comment is that there is no option for a remote to the best of my knowledge bearing in mind that the app to control the device doesnt work in all countries outside of the USA as I painfully found out when I tried to download the app. That unfortunately converts it from being really smart to being somewhat retarded as it learns the position of bits of furniture but if they are removed, it still avoids the area as if they were still there. I took off one star for this reason and would not recommend this particular unit if you live outside of the USA or its territories.

Does the job but does get lost from time to time and dies somewhere in the house which is a pain.

I got it at a large discount and I like the self-emptying feature, so 3 stars. The cleaning performance and coverage are OK, about the same as my 1st generation roomba. The smart features are designed terribly. The creepy eye with an internet connection is a privacy concern and is useless for mapping. Why do you try to map walls while its so much easier to map the working area? You could use cheap ultrasonic radars for that. That would also allow to discover obstacles without bumping into or climbing onto them. When it tries to run over my bare foot, that actually hurts a bit. The map is not utilized for route optimization: robot keeps bumping into walls and ignoring doorways even after it has mapped out the room. It wastes battery while doing that. The docking algorithm is ridiculous - docking can take up to 3 minutes. It cannot climb the raised front edge of its own docking mat.

Our home has no carpet, only tile and wood flooring. Weve had the Shark for over two months now. I have to say I am impressed with it so far. I have it set to run 3 times a week and each time it picks up stuff. The first couple times it had a lot of material, but even now it doesnt fail to pick up a substantial amount, in other words that is material that would just accumulate until we manually vacuumed. It has gotten caught up on our light rugs, but vacs right over the heavier and rubber bottomed ones. It recommends you have 3ft of clearance on the side, but the best places for us to put it did not have that, only a foot on each side, but so far weve had no problem. It has always found its way back to the base. My wife was skeptical at first, but after seeing how much it picks up is now happy we have it. We do pick up the light rugs before its scheduled run, but other than that we just let it run. In the future we will replace the light rugs with heavier ones and we wont even have to do that. It does require some maintenance, especially the first few times. The first time it ran, in which it went under couches and beds where we normally dont get, the eject opening got plugged. It warns you that something is off and the app lets you know it is plugged. Easy to clean out. It has also gotten hair twisted around the roller brush, but the plate comes off and the rollers come out. Cutting the hair with scissors and pulling it off worked. Then easy enough to snap back in place.

It’s a robot vacuum. We have only laminate floors, so it works beautifully, but I doubt it would do well on carpet. The small device just doesn’t produce enough suction (in my opinion). My biggest gripe is the SharkClean app. It’s terrible. Even their website is buggy. For example, I cannot register the device with the app. I enter ask the required info but the app will not save it. It also will not send the info to their servers. I tried through the website and it requires a 15-character model number, but the model number on my device is only 10 characters, so it doesn’t work there either. There are various other settings in the app that will not save either. It’s very frustrating.

To start with the straightforward stuff, it is a fantastic product for those looking for something simple to keep their rooms clean when they cannot do this. I would not recommend it for super heavy cleaning of tons and tons of fur if you have a husky or another large shedder. I do not have any pets, so this was fine with me. I use it in my basement because it gets pretty dusty down there fairly quickly. It keeps it very clean, especially from all the debris knocked off of shoes. The app was, at first, minimal and did not provide much control over the robot. But they just recently released an update that shows a more clean interface, and it allows you to pause the robot if there’s an issue. Before there was no pause button, so it would be difficult to resume it when the robot would get stuck in a situation. It definitely takes more than a few runs to learn your room and to stop running into things. I have watched it slowly grasp where everything is, and it has finally stopped running into problems as much. It used to get stuck under my computer chair, but now it recognizes it and completely ignores it. It does an excellent job of cleaning dust, debris, and even little critters. There are 3 different modes to choose from when it comes to suction strength: • Eco mode is suitable for light cleaning around the rooms if you want to save the battery and such. • Normal mode works fine if you are doing a regular clean. I mainly use this mode because it cleans the best while reaching all rooms without running out of battery. • Max mode will cause it to lose battery much quicker, but it will clean at the maximum suction. This mode is excellent for these types of situations. However, I would not recommend using this mode if the area you are cleaning is large in size.

This is a game changer for dog hair. I’m surprised how much it can hold before it has to dock itself to twice the trash.

The pros: it does do a decent job of cleaning and works well on my carpet and much better on my tile. It has only gotten stuck once and sadly was under my desk. The unit has gone throughout my home (areas i want vacuumed). The unit is small enough to get under my couches, bed, and will make its way around my chairs and tables. Overall, there is value in the unit and what it can do. Wearable/Replacement parts seem to be readily available and priced reasonably. The cons: the AI/mapping is rudimentary at best. We have cars that can successfully self-drive but we cant seem to get a vacuum to map a home correctly. Ive now reset my unit 3x and tried to get a good map of my home... and to date without a strong degree of success. I get a map. The map has some areas that look like my home, but.. and esp as you get outside my open floor plan area, it seems to struggle understanding where my bedrooms, baths, office, laundry, etc are in relation to the open area. it seems to use the first 2 runs to do the initial map of your home and doesnt seem to up date the initial map much after that... if at all. After that, it just seems to clean what it mapped on those first 2 runs and doesnt really update the map after that (or so it hasnt seemed to in this case). Help resources stink. Theres not much in the literature and even less online. So, do i wait for some sort of notice that the map is complete or do i accept the initial one and it will update it as it learns more?? The unit runs for 60 minutes then docks. It doesnt matter if the battery is 15% at the end or 80%. it docks after 60 min and there doesnt seem to be any way to change this (ive been completely throughout the settings.. and again.. documentation is terrible esp within the app).Evac and resume will pause for 3 hours regardless if the battery charge is 15% (which it needs some charge) or 80% (it should just resume at this point.. but no, its going to sit for 3 hours). it does this regardless if its cleaning or if its mapping out your house. Firmware updates are pushed and cannot be requested. So, lets assume my firmware is out of date by a release or 2. I cannot download and apply it to my unit. it has to be pushed from some central server somewhere to my unit. Im not sure if my release is current or not (2020 is the date of the last update... which may be WHY the AI/mapping seems quite dated in capability). And, if this is the latest version... that would have me question the commitment by the manufacturer for this product. Overall, the unit is good. It does a fair job at cleaning and does offload the stuff it picks up into the bin which does last a while (have the 45 day bin). The unit does a really good job of avoiding getting stuck and if it vacs up something (like a toddlers sock) it will alert you to the issue. There is so much more potential with this device and it seems much of this is software/firmware related (hardware is pretty solid). Im hoping the company makes some changes to allow some more self-service, improves the mapping and AI capabilities, and releases regular updates. If not, then open this thing up to third party tools which will do this for us.
