In 3 years, I have had 3 vacuums. Dyson pet, Kirby AVALIR 2, and now the best of the 3. The SHARK. I was not happy with the Kirbys performance. A friend recommended This Shark, Im very glad she did. It picked up all the dust and pet hair the Kirby left behind. I highly recommend this Vacuum.

I have gone through 3 vacuums with my labs. This is the best one for hair that never stops coming...it doesnt clog the roller and its easy to use. The suction is great and I like the fact you can clear the hoses easily.

This is my second Shark Vertex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins. My other is still working. However, there was a great deal on this one, and I decided to buy just in case. I first want to mention that I have had to call a few times in the last 5 years about my original vacuum, and shark came through every time! They are easy to contact. They offer on the spot video technical support and then if they need to send out replacement parts, they are delivered within a week. Secondly, I own a Newfoundland dog and if you know anything about the breed, you will understand that a clean freak will be vacuuming every single day! Their hair is super long and it is NO JOKE you will have hair like you could never believe hair. This is the only vacuum that does the job! Ive tried cheaper brands, but poor Hudson Douglas kills them or they just cant even do it! Great vacuum! Great warranty program! Totally worth the price! Only neg on my review is the pet attachment! I dont like it, and it definitely needs improvements. My original one is fantastic but this one I dont think does a good job with hair... I think they tried to save money when they designed the pet attachment!

This is a great vacuum! I was so surprised at the amount of pet fur and dirt it picked up the first time I used it. I would recommend this vacuum.

This is Shark’s top of the line vacuum. It lives up to it’s reputation, but looses a star for it’s weight and noise. The good: - Powerful. Dyson is often cited as the king of powerful vacuums. But I’ve used Dysons and this is easily on par with those. - Great pick up. This is the most important part of any vacuum and this does a GREAT job. This picked up things my old vacuum missed. I thought the floor was cleaned but wow, I guess it wasn’t. - LED Lights. These are very handy for seeing dirt in dark corners and under furniture - Lift-away. This is something Shark’s done for a few years now. The ability to detach the bin and use it almost like a consider vacuum is very handy if you want to reach under furniture, for doing stairs, and reaching high places. - The rubber rollers really don’t tangle - Easy to empty bin. It pops off easily, you push a button to open it, then it snaps closed without issue. Easy and clean. - Filters are easy to access and clean. - Comes with a crevice tool and upholstery tool, and the accessory websites sells one for every task you could need it for. Some reviews say there aren’t any, but it looks like that has been fixed. Shark now carries everything at least as of right now. - Odor reducer. This is a nice addition, though replacements are a bit pricey. If you have pets it can help reduce that pet smell vacuums tend to get. You can also use the vacuum just fine without one. - Long cord. Why this isn’t standard with vacuums I’ll never know, but this cord is long enough to be able to do most average sized rooms without having to swap outlets The bad: - Loud. Coming from an older shark, this is noticeably louder. Which is a shame, I guess a trade off for the power, but Dyson manages to have power without this noise. - Weight. This thing is a beast. I am in decent shape and it still can get tiring. The lift-away feature is hampered by the fact that it’s so heavy too. All in all you won’t be disappointed with this vacuum. No vacuum is perfect, some might fix another flaws, but it’ll have new ones of it’s own. The pros for this outweigh the cons in my opinion. The price is on the upper end, but worth it.

This is just the vacuum I was looking for! I have multi surface home, this does it all! I love the fact that the handheld suction has rotation. And the soft brush suctions on hard floor and does not shoot debris out the back. Definitely my favorite vacuum I’ve ever bought!

Only had it for a few days but so far I love it. Bought this to replace a completely overrated Dyson and I’m very happy with it. It clean my tile and carpeted areas equally well and the suction is great

Great suction power. Does great on carpets and hard surface floors. It is a little heavy. Motor over heats and will shut the unit off temporarily which I don’t like. The dust container detaches easy but is a little wonky when re-attaching. The odor blocking technology is just and replaceable air freshener like you would put in your car. The new roller fins are better than the old brush rollers and haven’t tangled so far. Just curious tho if the rubber fins will hold up or tear after a while.

My biggest gripe is how short the hose is. You can’t just undo the hose from the machine and use the furniture attachment without tipping it over as you try to clean the sofa or even just a recliner. You basically have to detach the vacuum canister from the floor unit and tote it around anytime you want to do something like that. A minor gripe is that there is no place to store even one attachment on the machine. Every time you want to do a crack or crevice or furniture you have to stop and go back to the last place you left them unless you wear a tool belt to store the attachments. I do like the job the dual brush does on the floor, both hard and carpet. The soft brush does a really nice job on the wood floors. And it does pick up the pet hair great, if you can catch it. This next gripe is not unique to this vacuum, but has been an issue with every upright I have ever had. The exhaust comes straight out the front. So the cat hair I was just about to vacuum up all the sudden is no longer there It may be more noticeable with this vacuum because it is so powerful. If it is creating a strong suction because it is moving a lot of air, that air has to go somewhere. But why does it have to go out the front. I cant be the only one who has noticed this. Why cant the designers vent it out the back or something. Like I said, this is not unique to this vacuum, they all seem that way. Finally, the dust bin is really skinny and hair gets stuck up at the top ( I have many pets), and I have to go get my back scratcher to teach up and dislodge it to get it out of the bin.

I am so amazed every time I run this if you don’t own one of these, you really should the stuff that’s in your carpet that you can’t see this vacuum definitely pulls it out. I am very very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anybody who is looking for replacing their old vacuum, I used to be 100% Bissell I think I am now 200% shark. Thank you for a wonderful product I just wish you could get the air freshener on this particular vacuum
