Greater than one weekGood vacuum with powerful suction power. I just wish it there was a way to decrease the suction power doing kitchen and bathroom rugs. Like the other Shark vacuums, I have had in the past. The vent like thing. Other than that good vacuum. Always buy Shark....

> 3 dayThis is my first purchase of a Shark vacuum. After exhaustive research I settled on the Shark Vertex model based on reviews and comparative shopping. First, the positives, excellent suction, large dust storage container, multiple adjustments for roller height, ability to remove storage container to vacuum in difficult to reach areas, useful attachments, and overall sturdy feel while vacuuming. For all the positives, it is a little clunky. It is somewhat difficult to roll around during vacuuming because the the roller provides significant resistance on the back stroke, and it’s large size feels awkward, generally speaking. In conclusion, I will gladly take the relatively few negatives for the excellent overall performance and quality this vacuum offers.

Greater than one weekWe like the power but this vacuum is much heavier than you would think it should be. So far its working as advertised against hair. Maneuvering is more difficult than some weve used - the twisting requires significant wrist strength.

> 3 dayWe have 2 Shelties and vacuums have been short lived and ineffective in our house. The dog hair stops the rollers and clogs the works. The Shark Stratos is a miracle machine. It got a ton of dust and hair out of a carpet that was just vacuumed with our old machine and no hair wrapped around the rollers. The dustbin is free of clogs as well. I love that the controls are right at the top of the handle. It is very maneuverable and did great on hardwood and carpet.

Greater than one weekShark AZ2002 Vertex Powered Lift-Away: I have only had this vacuum for a few weeks and can only give my opinion based on 3 or 4 uses. I have two other vacuums that I am using for my comparison, a Hoover (constant overheating after years of use) and a Dyson (old & heavy). First off, I am a 66 years young man, and do the whole house vacuuming as my wife is not able. The unit was shipped USPS and in the stock box. It arrived in a timely manner but was severely damaged for carless handling by our USPS during shipping. While the box was a mess and I feared for the contents, I only found a couple dents in the main tube of the unit (see pics). However, the vacuum seems to be working fine. The Shark AZ2002 SUCKS… and I mean it has more suction for cleaning than any vacuum I have ever used. The controls are at the handle including the power switch. This is much better when you get used to it, like when using it as a wand having the power switch right there is great. At first, I did not think it did a good job on the carpet, but after changing and finding the best setting it does a fine job of getting the carpet groomed and doghair free. We have a Border Collie mix and a somewhat shorter haired mixed breed. As advertised, I have had NO dog hair at all wrapped around either roller (perfect). Couple things could be better… the “Large Dust Cup” is too small, especially if you have dogs. But the performance outweighs this inconvenience. The vacuum air powered “Pet Power Brush” is a joke. Stops spinning as soon as it encounters any surface (totally useless). I guess I will have to buy the electrically powered brush…maybe. This cost you a star. The position of the front roller lets you get really close to things and is appreciated. On our tiled areas this unit gets all the grit and doghair up and gone… even from the sides. The exhaust from the motor is in the front. I thought this was odd but after using it on the tiled areas, I realized that because the whole unit tips back when in use, the exhaust is out of the way, and I no longer have to chase doghair around the tiled areas like the other vacuums. On carpet, you have to get used to it wanting to run away forward and drag resistance pulling it back. But you get used to it and can really see the carpet is clean and groomed well on the drag-back stroke of your cleaning. The AZ2002 is not cheap, but I have to say, overall, it is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever been forced to use…LOL (pun at my wife). Highly recommended.

> 3 dayPros: The suction power is incredible! Hair does not wrap around the roller!!! I have 4 dogs in my house and vacuum every day, so this is a big plus! There is no bad smell as a result of odor neutralizer, also a big plus. The lift-away is always handy. It has three height levels for the rollers. Easy to empty. Cons: There is no brush on the end of the crevice tool. I am using the crevice tool with brush from my old Shark vacuum. There is no headlight on the end of the wand making it difficult to see what I am vacuuming under and behind furniture. It is a bit stiff in maneuverability but I am making myself believe that it is due to the incredible suction power.

> 3 dayI LOVE IT. I’ve been so happy with my Shark vacuums but have always had the more basic models. Now that I have a Golden Retriever that sheds and another shorter hair breed who sheds too I decided it was time to invest in a higher end model and see the difference and wow! It’s so impressive!!! I know it’s expensive but honestly I’m so happy with the decision and it’s something that should last a long time so will be worth it. But bottom line- it’s extremely impressive and I am so happy with it! Very highly recommend it!!!!

> 3 dayHas great suction for bare floors, picks up everything. The head is difficult to get under beds and furniture, it is thick or to tall. Like others have said, the hose is very rigid and makes using the wand difficult. The handle makes using the attachments difficult. It is big and clunky and at a wierd angle.

> 3 dayIm adding to the previous review. Ive now had this sweeper 1 year, 10 months. The sweeper is still doing its job well, but I have had to replace two parts. 2 months ago I had to replace the extension wand, something in it that supplies the power to the sweeper head (floor nozzle) went bad. It was a $30 fix. Today, my replacement floor nozzle arrived. I noticed in the last month that the power fins completely wore down, and a few days ago the beater bar stopped spinning entirely. Replacement past was $90. Please note that I have a large house and sweep both bare and carpeted floors on a daily basis, so it is definitely getting a workout. I still have no regrets about buying this sweeper. Previous review: Ive had this sweeper for over a year now. It does what its supposed to do. However its hard to use on stairs because the hose isnt that long or flexible. This is my 2nd Shark. Kids broke the first one. I havent been disappointed in the brand yet.

> 3 dayHad an old Dyson and presumed I had the best vacuum available. It smelled of smoke the other day and would no longer turn on. Time for a new vacuum. This vacuum had a great fan club on the internet. When I tried it out, it not only picked up new mats of hair, but appeared to be cleaning the carpet very deeply. It appeared that trapped hair and dirt from long ago were also being picked up. Awesome performance.
