Yeah its a little on the heavy side but boy does it suck! Sucks in a good way. Now well get to the hose. It is an accordion style and stretches out too about 5ft. That is until you turn it on. Once on the, the powerful suction, did I mention how it sucks, pulls the hose tight. It almost straightens it out its soo strong. You cannot use the hose with the cannister attached to the main body. Unless your using the hose 12 inches away you have to detach the cannister. Even with the vacuum on low it still pulls the hose tight. You have to move the cannister with your vacuuming motions. Used for a few weeks now and havent had to clean roller at all, works as designed. Had to clean my old Shark after ever second vacuuming. I have 2 Golden Retrievers, nuff said there. Gave it 4 stars for the hose and weight. If you can put up with that, which I can, then this vac is a good buy.

What a difference this vacuum has made. In the past I would have to dust every day, dust so thick you could write your name in it and this happened even when vacuuming every day. This vacuum fixed the problem. I love it!! It is so easy to switch from bare floor to rug cleaning. The rug cleaning works great also. Vacuum is a little heavy but it is a great trade off for the suction. The only thing I do not like is the hair wrapping around the small rubber tires in the front of the vacuum. I have a constantly shedding border collie and cat and hair is everywhere. When I vacuum the hair winds around the small rubber wheel axles. I have to clean it out by using tweezers. I hope the future models of Shark have an easier way to clean this wheels.

This replaced a Dyson ball, that I was never happy with. Dyson advertises that their vacuums never lose suction, but the suction on the Dyson was too weak to begin with. This Shark has WAY more suction. It also has a far better brush roller. The brush roller on the Dyson was self-adjusting but seemed to ride on top of the carpet pile, instead of digging in and pulling out dirt. The fins on the Shark do a much better job of getting into the carpet fibers. The fins also dont get clogged with hair, and the second roller does a great job on the bare floor. The lift-away turns the vacuum into a corded stick-vac that lets the vacuum get under the sofas, entertainment center, and beds. The headlight helps you to see the dirt in those areas, too. And the fact you can use it as a wand or handheld is a huge improvement over the Dyson, too. So, what are the negatives? Its ugly. Its heavy. The hose is a bit short. The cleaning head is a little too tall to fit under one of our sofas, even in stick-vac mode.

Easy to use, comes apart easily for cleaning and using just hose. Incredible suction, cleans carpets better than all the expensive Vacuums we’ve tried (Dyson, etc). Great value, we’ll see how it lasts, but I highly recommend this vacuum after many pricey disappointments.

Only had it for a few days but so far I love it. Bought this to replace a completely overrated Dyson and I’m very happy with it. It clean my tile and carpeted areas equally well and the suction is great

My dog sheds so much and this has been amazing! I have physical issues and was worried it might be too heavy, but it is light enough to use daily. It’s easy to use and picks up better than any vacuum I’ve owned. I love that it has 3 settings for floor types. It makes it easy to vacuum the whole house! Highly recommend for pet owners

I am beyond in love with this vacuum! I will never be buying a 80$ vacuum again there’s a reason you’re paying as much as you do for this state of the art cleaning technology. I have always looked for an easy to clean vacuum that help pick up all dirt especially in carpets. Being someone with asthma this machine has definitely helped minimize all dust in my home! I feel like I’m in an easy breathing environment after bringing this to my home. I will be recommending this vacuum to everyone especially pet owners and people with children it helps keep the house safe and clean

Good vacuum with powerful suction power. I just wish it there was a way to decrease the suction power doing kitchen and bathroom rugs. Like the other Shark vacuums, I have had in the past. The vent like thing. Other than that good vacuum. Always buy Shark....

The Shark AZ2002 Vertex is an awesome vacuum on wood floors, tile and carpet. The suction is so strong it will suck anything in its path. :-) Love using the lift-away with the dual-fins.

    Greater than one week

I need to start by talking about my old vacuum cleaner, which was an Oreck, my second one. It weighs only 8 lbs, and cleaned pretty well ... or so I thought. The Oreck is old and the company doesnt want to service it, but Ive continued to use it until it just wasnt cutting it for me anymore. Didnt want to dish out that kind of money again, so I went on Consumer Reports and did my research. The Shark Stratos is one of their highest-ranking conventional upright vacuum cleaners (i.e., not a stick vacuum). I just vacuumed about 5 days ago. I fired up the Shark and I was dumbfounded when the canister was half full of dog hair, sand, dust, and red clay. If it was only about the cleaning ability, Id give this vacuum a five-star rating. But this thing is exactly twice as heavy as my Oreck and I find it difficult to maneuver. I will get used to that because of the level of clean. I also like that you can pop the canister off the running machine so you can sweep under things.
