> 3 dayIve been using this vacuum cleaner for a few months now and I have zero complaints. Powerful suction and the liftaway capability is wonderful. And - no hair wrapped around the beater bar! I have long hair and with my previous vacuums, it would get wrapped around the beater bar, which was a huge pain to remove. Because of the way this vacuum is designed... no wrapped hair! I know that doesnt sound like a big deal but if you have people in your family with long hair, you know what I mean! Very pleased with my purchase.

> 3 dayGet this. I’m loving vacuuming. I know it’s crazy but somehow I do. I really appreciate all of the features on this vacuum. I watched some videos on “Vacuum Wars” on YouTube and his info is great! Best place for all things related to vacuums and helped me decide on this model since our Dyson was not worth fixing and was not getting the job done. I love that I can clean all of our floors quickly so our whole house is cleaned must faster than usual. We have tile/hard floors, medium pile carpet and a sensitive wool rug, so with the 3 floor settings we can clean it all. Our Dyson had the brush on or off option but that did not work for us - our tile floors did not get cleaned after several passes unless I used the wand which took forever. The first day with our Shark, I cleaned up the piles of hair off of our tile after a hair cut! It was all gone! Honestly I was shocked. With our Dyson, the brush option damaged our wool rug but the rug setting on the Shark is awesome. It makes the rug look awesome and gets all of the dog hair! This is also lighter and narrower than our Dyson! It is similar in that it has a canister with washable filters but I like that this canister opens at the top and bottom and has a special bin for the larger items that may get sucked up (like nerf darts!) so you can get them out without digging through the dirt you just vacuumed. The filter is also separate from the canister (the Dyson is combined). It is picking up the finest dust! It has a long cord like the Dyson - but be careful - it has such great suction that it will suck up cords and anything else you run over! But our Dyson was not doing that... Each time I vacuum with the Shark Vertex it looks like our carpet has been shampooed. With the two rollers its like our hard floors are also wiped clean from fine dust. We have not had any hair clog or wrap the rollers and have a Great Pyrenees who leaves his fur tumble weeds all over the house and a 15 year old daughter with a lot of long hair! Our Dyson was constantly needing the rollers cleared. I also love the powered lift-away option. I can clean under our furniture much faster now. It also has a few options with the wand - the long or full wand and the smaller handheld option. It comes with 3 attachments - 2 store on the housing and the special pet tool we keep separate. Overall, this vacuum is great! The canister holds a lotttt of stuff and it does all I need it to do and more! Get this awesome sucker!

21-04-2025This is my first Shark, and Ive never owned a Dyson, but I do have 6 house cats and 2 horses and a plethora of chickens and turkeys, so the dirt tracked into my house is on a daily basis is in the overwhelming amount! FWIW, only the cats have access to the house, not the other critters, and only 2 go out on a semi-regular basis, so this is all about accumulated hair rather than dust/dirt underfoot as I change shoes at the door. I will say that it got the entrance mats by the doors almost as clean as power washing them, which was amazing as they are ribbed pile, not flat! the other vacuum wouldnt touch that. I bought this to combat the cat litter tracked and the hair, and sanitize the air, as I have allergy issues. I have mostly hard floors, a few area rugs, and an un-carpeted staircase that has been a huge problem with hair blobs. I have 100% woven wool area rugs in the living room, they are deep pile and have been a problem to get clean from the beginning, not to mention that they also shed! Here is how I rate the Shark: Suction is 100%, bare floor cleaning 100%, area rugs on pile setting and they are 80% clean. Some of that is probably because the rugs are old and need repeated vacuuming to get *all* the dirt out of them. I used the lift away feature to vacuum the corners of the rooms and it was long enough to reach, but just barely. Under furniture? NO problem! Basically I dont have to dust mop any longer as the floor finish roller does a great job of getting the dust up, too. The hand tools are powerful, I have slip covers on several pieces of furniture, and the power brush is too strong it can suck up the material making it hard to vacuum. So I use the un-powered brush attachment and that works great. The only thing that Im missing is a little mesh bag for organizing the extra attachments. For $350-$400, Shark should come up with a free bag for their customers. And, do yourself a favor and order the spare filters, they come in handy. I have to change mine each time I use it to get the best air quality. I simply rinse and dry the filters that come out and reuse them.

> 3 dayI’ve owned or used all the major brands over the years and have even owned two Kirby brand vacuums. This is so much better. Easier to empty than a Dyson. Better for hardwood floors than any other, it doesn’t kick out bits to the side or leave anything behind like my Dyson stick did. Better for carpet/rugs because unlike many vacuums you have a bleed valve that allows for pile height or backing. The ease of use and multiple ways to configure means I can actually vacuum my hardwood stairs, get underneath the beds, and in corners without stoping and starting. I love the mini rotating tool, it gets the pet hair and doesn’t clog. This vacuum can do it all. I may get another for upstairs just so I don’t have to carry it up and down, although it isn’t a problem because it isn’t too heavy (throwing shade at you Kirby)

> 3 dayIll start by saying this is an incredible vacuum. We have dogs (two doodles) and thick carpet as well as laminate flooring with area rugs. Before this, we had a cheaper Hoover (under 150$). I felt it was not doing a sufficient job so I started reading up on higher end vacs. I landed on this one after seeing reviews showing this vacuum beating out Dysons and anything else put up against it. They said it was excellent for both carpet and hardwood, and was the best at picking up hair without the beater getting tangled. These were all true, so here are my pros and cons: Pros: -Great suction. The pic shows the reservoir being full...this was from JUST a 12x12 thick carpeted room, 5 MINUTES after vacuuming the same room with my Hoover. -I do not have any issues on our very thick carpet with the vacuum sucking too hard and making it tough to push. I saw some reviews that state that...they likely pushed the button and have the beater turned off so it wont pull itself, or they have it set to the wrong flooring type. This is the main reason I chose this over a Dyson, I have seen far more reviews on Dysons being very tough to push. -LOVE the maneuverability. You can pop the whole canister off and carry it, or just the top and use the hose attached to the vac. Also very easy to turn and go under tables and stuff. -No fanning. What I mean is that with every other vacuum Ive used, if you were on a hard surface, the beater put out so much air that it just blows all the dust and debris out of the way so you never suck it up. This works awesome on hardwood when you put it in that mode, and only one beater spins to pick up debris. Cons: -This thing is ugly as hell. The engineer that designed the functionality features is a genius. I believe after they designed it, they let a 90 year old lady choose the color scheme. Seriously, why would you have a grey vac, with rose gold touches and a blue roller? If I had shopped in store I wouldnt have even considered a vacuum at this price point with those colors solely based on looks. Dysons are so much more appealing if youre simply going off looks. -Reservoir size. The reservoir is fricken tiny. If you have a large house or more than one dog, you will either need to vacuum every week or empty the canister a couple times during use. Only the front and top portions of the canister are actually to collect debris, most of it is taken up by the motor. -The cord. Yeah, its super long which is great. But why are we still making cords the EXACT length to where you have to wind it up super loose to attach the plug to another cord. Make it 2 shorter or longer, so annoying. -Wheels. The back wheels are stupid. Theyre tiny plastic wheels that wannabe a dyson ball but arent. If rolls around like a ball, but when turning one of the wheels lifts off the floor and its like youre kind of lifting the vacuum. I believe their goal was to mimic a Dyson ball without infringing on patents, but its a cheesy way to do so. As you can see, my cons are slightly petty but still sort of annoying. Luckily, a vacuum isnt particularly for pleasing the eye. Overall this is awesome vacuum in terms of functionality, and I would highly recommend to any friends or family to snag one of these if they can afford it.

> 3 dayI have 2 golden retrievers, so live with constant dog hair. Everywhere. Recently had my carpets professionally cleaned prior to getting new furniture, and the carpet technician recommended Shark as the best vacuum. Period. So I indulged. This Shark is far superior to my Oreck in most ways - better suction power, the powered lift away (which I haven’t even used yet!) - but there are still some areas where the Oreck rates higher, in my opinion. For one, this Shark is HEAVY. Once you’ve turned it on and are using it, this is no longer an issue, but if you have to carry it up and down stairs, or into a different room, it really is heavy. Secondly, the dust bin is crazy small. I can get less than 2 rooms cleaned before it has to be emptied, whereas a standard vacuum with a bag, like my Oreck, could clean my whole house several times before the bag was full. And the there is my biggest peeve with the Shark: The maneuverability. Below the dust bin there is a pivoting type connection that allows the base of the vacuum, where the brushroll is, to turn easily. Maybe it’s just me, but I seem to have almost ZERO control over the base - the handle and the attached dustbin are the parts your arm is pushing, and suddenly the base will turn 90 degrees to the right or left, like it has a mind of its own: ooh - let’s suddenly zag and go under this chair here! And then the Shark laughs as I lose my balance because my momentum is still moving forward. LOL; good one, Shark. It’s very easy to assemble, and very easy to access all the features. I have not tried the liftaway yet, but will soon. The self-cleaning brushroll is genius! I was used to cleaning the brushroll on previous vacuums every time I had to clean, because the dog hair really gets wrapped around them, but so far, so good with the Shark! I wish all the attachments came with a dedicated accessory bag; I’ve just collected them all in a plastic grocery bag. I do love my Shark, and won’t be going back to a bag-type vac. Just wish it would let ME decide which way I want to go when we clean!

> 3 dayI rarely write reviews, but I am so impressed with this vacuum that it has to be done! I have two Australian Shepherd pups and two children under the age of 10. My house always has dirt tracked in and all other sorts of messes are constantly being made. I have a brand new carpet, and hardwood floors and this vacuum does it all! After going through two cheap vacuums in the last year, I decided to splurge on this Shark. I compared and read reviews on several different brands and models before deciding on this one and I can honestly say that I couldn’t be happier! A few of my favorite things about this vacuum and comments to the pictures I included. The first picture I posted shows a small area of my room that I vacuumed. As you can see the amount of dog hair and dust that it collected was mind blowing! In addition, there’s an extra trap that caught a necklace my son made without damaging or getting caught in the rollers. I finished vacuuming my room, and found no hair had attached to the rollers. This is a huge deal for me (and a big reason I splurged on this vacuum) because I despised cleaning and cutting hair out of the rollers every time with previous vacuums. With the power lift option and powered hand attachment, I was able to clean my carpeted stairs with ease. It has incredible suction and devoured the dog hair and crumbs embedded deep within my couches. It’s absolutely magical and has made cleaning house so much easier. No dust, debris, or odors using this vacuum. You will not be disappointed!

Greater than one weekSeveral years ago, I bought a big, upright Kenmore vacuum because I have two cats and Consumer Reports rated it highly. Maybe it was great at first, but it was heavy and cumbersome and the expensive bags filled up quickly. I vacuumed a lot less than I should have because it was a hassle to use. On Black Friday, I decided to look for something lighter and easier to use. CR recommended the Shark Vertex, and at half price, I took it. The first time I used it, I unpacked as few parts as I could because I was sort of expecting it not to be as good as the big Kenmore and I wanted it to be easy to repackage and return. I turned it on and WOW! It was so light! It propelled itself across the carpet easily, requiring me to only pull it back towards me. It can be converted like a Transformer for every vacuuming need by pressing clearly labeled buttons. There are no bags to buy, and emptying it is quick and easy. It has three attachments that work beautifully, and a simple slider to move easily between thick carpet, low pile carpet, and bare floors. But the BEST PART is that I could *literally feel with my bare feet* that the carpet was MUCH cleaner than the old Kenmore ever accomplished, and that is golden. There is only one thing that could be improved: a more flexible hose or a hose extension when you detach the handle to use the add-on accessories. This is a minor flaw, but everything else about this vacuum is so good, this one little thing could be better. So now Im vacuuming more than ever because its not only easy--it is almost fun!

> 3 dayThis cleans the floors better than my old vacuum. It has a roller brush that works great on the hard floors , but it also transitions to my rugs with ease. The canister can be removed from the base so you can easily get under couches and beds... also has a long wand that can reach high places. Longer power cord then my old one as well makes it super easy to get around the house better. It comes with only a few attachments, so do your homework and order the ones that you may need. Overall great buy and I am so happy we decided to buy this with all the options out there .
