I was looking specifically for a bag that I could fit my good camera and a couple of lenses, AND carry my work computer on a trip to the UK. AND fit under an airplane seat. This bag worked out very well in all respects. Carried a Nikon D5200 with 18-300 zoom attached + a Sigma 10-20 zoom. The excess compartments held al chargers (phone, computer, camera batteries), and other misc. stuff I travel with. PLUS the 15in MacBook PRO, and my scripts. Fit under the seat not only on the big plan to uk, but also on a smaller commuter jet to Philly. My only regret: the computer is a lot heavier than I every realized! Glad I had included a cloth backback in my check-in luggage to use as a camera bag for schlepping around after the meeting (computer locked in hotel safe) because I would NOT have done well with the loaded DLSR/laptop on my back for long!.

Wow; I just got back from hauling this bag around South America and Antarctica for 3 weeks, and it is fantastic. I wanted something that would hold my camera equipment, work as a carry on, and not be uncomfortable. This bag was great on all fronts. The large opening has nice padding for your camera and related equipment. It is a little annoying that you have to lay the bag down and open it flat to pick out an item, but this still worked fine for me. I was also able to put in a ton of stuff that I wanted safe in my carry-on using the front and back pouches. The back pouch was great for tablets, books, papers, etc. that are tall and skinny. The front pouch has great dividers in it to hold onto smaller items in an organized fashion. There are also a couple side pouches, which I used mainly for cords. I was hopeful that they might hold a water bottle, but they are a bit small for that. I did not use the tripod holders, but it is a feature as well. The bag was very comfortable. Many bags exacerbate a shoulder condition I have, but this one, with its waist and chest straps and lots of cushioning, did not hurt to wear. A rain cover is included which will cover the part of the bag that isnt on your back. It was nice to know that I had this, although I didnt find it very practical to use for my purposes. The bag seems sturdy, and held up well. I expect to be able to use it for many years to come. The best thing about this bag is that you get all of this for such a fantastic price. Other similar bags seemed to cost significantly more. I was very happy with my choice to get this one.

    Greater than one week

I got the orange one. Its built as good as anything else Ive used. It fits my Canon 650D, and 5~6 lenses and a flash however I want quite well. Ive loaded it with heavy `L telephotos (70-200 F4L) and heavy Tokina wide angle lenses (11-16 F2.8) as well as several primes and it was heavy, but it held fine and I didnt have anything shuffle while I hiked. The front has pockets for accessories. The middle is the main storage for gear. The rear has a slot for a laptop but I use it for waterproof stuff, towels, gloves, hats, etc. I dont think you want a hard laptop/tablet on your back, behind your heavy lenses. Its not waterproof, but comes with a water resistant cover that you can fit over it if youre out in the rain and this works well. Ultimately it does the job, is built well, protects my stuff and is actually comfortable. Zippers are well made and strong. Cant go wrong for this price. The fact that it says Amazon on it instead of Canon is also nice, less people stare at it knowing what it is and think its just a backpack and not a storage bag with $5k+ of equipment.

Just arrived and loaded it, heres my initial feedback: First, it has three significant failures: 1) no water bottle pocket (I knew this when I bought it) 2) poor organization for accessories - batteries, cables, chargers, caps, etc - the front pocket is the only place, and its more oriented towards pens/pads/etc and only opens halfway down the face. ZERO access from inside the camera compartment for the small stuff, (like when you pull your lens caps and want to stick them somewhere while the lenses are in use...) 3) the cross-body straps DO NOT store and DO NOT remove - the waist-wrap strap, while a nice feature, doesnt stow. so use it, or get tangled in it. the cross-chest strap (that ties the shoulder straps together) also doesnt stow or remove. 1 and 2 knocked a star off....but 3 really brings this to 3 stars. NOTE on layout - dont expect to have easy top-access to a body+lens - the design of the organizers forces that to the bottom of the bag, lens pointing up. For the price, its decent - and I was able to load a 300mm and 400mm (or a pair of 300mm) f4 lenses, 2 sony e mount bodies, 18-55mm and 55-210mm sony lenses, a 18-200mm zoom, 28mm, 35mm, and 50mm prime - and many F, MD, K, and EF lens adapters, 2x teleconverter, a set of macro ring spacers, and my sling strap. Finding a non-backpack bag to give good access to a pair of super teles has been pretty challenging, and this took it all for a low price. well see how it holds up to hauling it all (well, a subset)!

I had purchased a camera bag before this one and it just didnt seem to fit. I thought that maybe I didnt know how to put it on since I am 64, and weight about 240#. Anyway I had trouble with it. I purchased this bag hoping that it would fit me ( I read a couple of the reviews and one said that the guy was in the 6 range) . The bag is great, the compartments are very good and do accommodate my camera, 3 lens, flash unit, and camera charger plus various other things. I didnt put my laptop in it because I probably wouldnt be using my laptop when I would be using my camera. The only thing I have a problem with is the place where you put the tripod, and the straps are difficult to tighter up and they are spaced kind of close together so it may not hold the tripod securely. On the other bag, It had a little pocket at the bottom of the bag on the side to set the feet of the tripod into, and it held it more secure. I will just have to modify it a little to make it my own. I do love the bag because it fits great on my shoulders, and distributes the weight of camera and other components so it doesnt see like it is overly weighted.

As a photographer for my universitys newspaper, I carry this backpack with my camera gear at least two days a week with school supplies and sometimes my laptop. The main divided camera area is easily reconfigurable, with the option to move or take out as many of the dividers as youd like. I have even been able to fit a 60 telescoping tripod inside the main compartment by re configuring it. I like that the camera is designed to sit at the very bottom because then it is more stable and protected. You can flip the dividers so the SLR can fit at the top, but it doesnt work as well because the compartment is thinner at the top so it is harder to zip up and it isnt as protected as well. The front pouch has several useful pockets and a zippered mesh pouch for accessories, as well as a larger pocket for folders and notebooks. The laptop pouch is easily big enough to fit a 17 laptop, my 15 laptop fits with enough room to leave flash drives plugged in and still zip up. The velcro pouches on the exterior sides of the backpack definitely DO NOT work as cupholders, but work nicely for storing a computer mouse or spare camera batteries. The quality of this backpack is really impressive, I have depended on it for over 6 months now using it multiple times a week, and there are no signs of wear or any problems this far. The zippers always run really smooth, and are good quality. One slight annoyance is that you cant really access the main divided compartment without setting the backpack down because you have to open the entire front of the backpack, so plan ahead and pull your camera out when you can take your time. The exterior tripod straps work nicely and secure just about any size tripod just fine. The ergonomics are very good, I can wear this backpack for long periods of time just fine like most other high quality backpacks. There is a surprising amount of support in this backpack, It stands up by itself and feels very sturdy when handling. I didnt think I would use the waist strap, but when you are carrying 20+ pounds of camera equipment, it can be really nice to relieve some of that pressure from your shoulders. Overall, I highly recommend this backpack to anyone needing to carry more than one or two lenses and a laptop or school supplies. The quality really impressed me and I expect this backpack to last me several more years.

I bought this bag 4 years ago with some hesitation. I thought because of the price it couldnt possibly be as good as other name-brand bags Ive owned. Well since then Ive taken this bag on dozens of trips, both domestic and international, and Id buy it again in a heartbeat. Ive been on long hikes (well, long for me, 5-10 miles) with it fully loaded and its just as comfortable and functional as packs that cost 4 times as much. The only problem Ive had is the velcro on the side pockets is starting to come loose, but it hasnt failed yet. The rest of the bag is extremely durable and well made. I love the orange interior (makes it so much easer to find black camera bits) and the pockets and dividers are adequate for my kit, which is usually 1 body, 4 lenses, 2 speedlights, etc. The tripod straps on the side are sturdy enough that I never worry about strapping my large tripod to it. Finally, I like that the bag is black and nondescript. Nothing says, please rob me! Im carrying thousands of dollars worth of camera gear, like a brightly colored LowePro bag. I highly recommend this bag for both pros and hobbyists.

Have now had this item for over 6 months and taken 4 trips with it so I think I can review it with some certainty. No zippers have failed, no stitching has unraveled, despite somewhat over filled it has not failed to fit under the seat on any airplane so far, even including the smaller regional jets. When I first got it I was having real problems with my left shoulder so I was being really careful with it, but in the last few months I have been able to wear it properly and it makes getting through airports with short connections much easier than my shoulder slung bag used previously. I carry a Surface and a leather document portfolio along with books or magazines in the large pouch nearest the straps. A digital SLR along with 70-200mm, 200-500mm, 28-70mm, flash, GPS, power chargers, cables, flashlights, binoculars, etc. etc. all fit. The only thing I noticed, dont close the zippers on that big back pocket and leave them up near the handle, pull both down to one side or the other. The weight of the rest of the pack caused them to unzip and for it to partially flap open. Had I not noticed it I might have lost items. I have not has a repeat since being sure they are to one side or the other. In short a spacious back that does fit under airline seats and seems pretty rugged so far.

I cant speak about durability since Ive only had it a couple of months, but it is just about perfect for my needs. It has room for all of my photo gear, laptop, and a few other small items, yet it fit perfectly beneath the seat in front of me on the plane. It is padded well for protection, seems to be pretty water resistant, and even has a rain cover I havent used yet. I havent felt a need for the hip belt yet, and wish it were removable. But, it could come in handy in the event I need to carry it a long way. BTW, my photo gear consists of a DSLR body, 100-400mm, 18-135mm, and 10-18mm lenses, a few filters and a battery charger. This still left room for a couple of bottles of prescription meds, extra eyeglasses, a folder for maps, extra pens and highlighters, etc. For the money, this is a great purchase!

I just received this bag and, having shopped for a decent backpack for sometime, knew what I was getting. And, I can review this even before I take it out into the field. Ive been hauling cameras around [usually 2 or 3 bodies (SLRs) with several lenses] for over 50 years. . .and, I wanted something COMFORTABLE! This bag is EXACTLY what I wanted for a field bag and/or a carry on . . . I currently carry a Nikon D90 and D7000 with lenses from 18mm to 300mm plus various cords; battery packs; User Manuals; writing materials (pens & 5x8 cards); a tablet; and, a pocket dictator. . .ALL of the above fit comfortably in the bag with room to spare. . . One thing I would like to suggest. . .a LowePro TLZ-1 holster which will fit on either your pants belt or the backpacks belt strap; and, allow ready access to a camera body fitted with a 300mm lens without requiring you to unload the backpack [The TLZ-1 is one of the few holsters that opens in the proper direction when you are wearing it. . .I picked up two of them on EBAY for $10 each (I also picked up a tool belt from Lowes for $4.95 that comfortably accommodates two holsters. .For use when I dont feel like bringing the backpack)] And, as long as Im mentioning money, this Amazon backpack is approximately half the price of the comparable LowePro bag.
