This backpack is surprisingly sturdy and an exceptional value. I typically load a lot of gear into it... my Nikon D500, 3-4 lenses (including a hefty 150-600mm Tamron lens), filters, and backup gear. It even holds a tripod - an essential for landscape and astrophotography. I’ve been hiking with all that gear many times and not had a problem with weight or comfort. I usually bring a lighter travel tripod though - my Manfrotto is just too heavy to carry along with all the other gear - my problem, not the backpacks. My one wish... would be that it had quick release buckles on the shoulders. It would be so much easier to put on/drop my fully loaded pack if I could unclip a shoulder strap. A very small complaint for a great bag that I use all the time.

Overall, I am so content with this purchase. I needed something to hold my Canon camera and the multitude of accessories that came with it (from Amazon). It holds everything and I still have room for other stuff. I put it on and adjusted all of the straps to make it fit snug but comfortable across the chest and waist. I really like those features. The extra strap material is not a big deal because I can find a way to take care of that. I also like versatility in anything I buy so this is great! I can take all of the Velcro out if I need to use it as a backpack and it holds my 16+ laptop - which is not easy to find in a camera backpack. I like the sturdy material and the rain cover. There are only 2 things I wish it had, but are not deal-breakers: zipper handles with holes for small locks and a pocket on the side for a water/thermal bottle. I can use zip-ties and a safety pin in the side pocket to undo them (as seen on a 5-minute craft video) if I am traveling somewhere I need extra security and I can buy a bottle that can attach to one of the front strap loops- but that is not ideal, especially for a female.

I love this bag. It only have one camera body and one lens that I am carrying with me currently, but I wanted a bag that would leave me room for more lenses in the future, as well as something that could fit my laptop and/or iPad. This case fits the bill. Everything seems very well made. There is ample padding, and plenty of room for all of my gear. This case is so much better than I had originally thought, that I am considering using it as my new daily use laptop bag, which will encourage me to carry my camera with me more often. The bag is a little bigger than I had envisioned (certainly not Amazons fault), and because of its size, I may need to consider purchasing a slightly smaller bag for flights. I suppose that is what comes with the territory of my purchasing a bag that will fit my camera and laptop though. Overall, I am beyond thrilled with this bag. I *almost* bought something nowhere near as good from Best Buy, and Im glad I found this instead. The price is very good, and the case itself Id better than anything else I saw in this category/price range. There was a smaller version of this bag that I might consider purchasing before my next flight.

Ive had two of these in a row since 2018. Backpack itself is great. But the zipper puller (the part you grip) keeps breaking off. I had two break off on the first one within a couple of years, and now on my second one the pullers broke off again within a year. They need to fix this one issue. The metal should be changed.

I bought this for my first ever trip going really anywhere, so this firs time was to Kauai! This bag was PERFECT! I LOVE the hiking type waist strap as one spontaneous hike we had to do and didnt know until we went looking for Queens Bath and we had barely any sunlight left and had to beat it going down, shooting quick, right back up! I carried this bag EVERYWHERE while there and it fit perfectly under the seat on the airplane too. I dont have a mass amount of lenses so I could also fit a few other things in the pockets. It is perfect to look like a normal backpack and not get stolen, although it was ATTACHED to me and my guy either way. I also took my laptop since homework online, and it was perfect for that too. Sturdy. Zippers going both ways made it easier at times when quickly searching a few times to pull something small out if under the seat or however. Great quality of fabric, straps so easy to adjust and not too easy that they slide when I dont want them to resize. I also didnt take my tripod so I just tied my water bottle onto the side strap area where the tripod would go. MyGyvering works! I would absolutely buy this again once mine forever later wore out or as a gift for someone else. Perfect!

I was very surprised with this backpack. Generally I see comparable backpacks at 3, 4 and 5 times as much as this bag. So when I got the bag I was not expecting much for its build quality and ease of use. I was very pleasantly surprised. The bag is excellent! Lets look carefully at it now: Pros: - Good build quality - Easy to re-arrange internal areas - Fits a lot of gear - Straps are built in such a way to ACTUALLY alleviate weight off your back - The Laptop Pouch is safely protected from the lenses. - Rubberized and strong top handle. Cons: - The outside pouch does not hold much (I have it holding a - The bag includes a rain cover, but no pouch for the cover. - The outside tripod holder is useless (as they are on every bag) - The waist straps are not removable (if you dont like them, they flap around and look silly) Overall I really love the bag so far. For me, it was perfect as I had just enough gear to fill but not overpack the bag. One has topay attention to what they put into the bag and where it goes, but once that initial step is done, youre good to go!

Im going to sum this up right off the bat. I LOVE this bag. It fits my needs perfectly. I was looking for something to use for travelling on an airplane. I had my T3i DSLR camera that I wanted to take, a laptop that I wanted to take, and some other small electronics that I wanted to take. I didnt really want to pack the laptop or the camera in checked bags, but the camera bag I had and the laptop bag would have been both of my carry on bags, and I wouldnt have been able to take the extra one for my tablet and phone and such. I had a pretty decent camera backpack, but what I now was in need of was a backpack that held my camera and accessories along with my laptop. I found the AmazonBasics bag, and after having good experiences with Basics products in the past,, I didnt hesitate to order it right away. It arrived quickly in a nice box with the backpack itself wrapped in plastic. It was easy to open and it got me into inspecting the backpack immediately. The first thing I noticed was that fit and finish on the bag is pretty top quality. I actually work in an airport, so I see a variety of bags and backpacks, from the cheapest of the cheap to the nicest of the nice. This bag easily fits in with the other quality backpacks that Ive come across in my work. As the name states, its very Basic looking, but to me thats a good thing. When using something for travel, the less it sticks out the better in my opinion. The straps are nicely padded. The chest strap works great, and the waist belt is very nice as well. There are small pockets on the outside of the bag, and those could be used for just about anything really. Inside of the back most opening is a spot to hold all of your small things. Ive got cords, memory cards, and manuals in there right now. Theres also a cleaning kit in there. It all fits really well, and theres still plenty of room for other stuff to go in there. In the main compartment, there are a ton of options for how to lay it out. I wont really get into how I set mine up, I will just say that the camera is at the bottom of the pack and I feel its supported and cushioned very well. The inside of the pack is nice and soft, with many hook and loop dividers that can be moved to just about however you want them to be moved. My pack currently has in it: T3i The higher zoom kit T3i lens Hotshoe flash Battery grip Five batteries, with two each in small plastic boxes for better storage Chargers and cords Lens filters GoPro Hero 3 Black GoPro waterproof case GoPro cords With all of that in there, I still have room for plenty to fit in the camera compartment. Im really happy with the way everything fits in the bag with plenty of room to spare. I also was easily able to fit my Asus laptop in the bag, as there is a separate pocket that goes right up against your back that the laptop goes in. I had no problems getting the computer in and the zipper secured with the bag. The bag also has a spot on the side to mount a tripod. I used those straps while at an art event recently for several hours, and it worked like a charm. You dont even notice the tripod is there, but when you have use for it, its easy to get it off, get your shot, then get it back on the pack. With all of that stuff in it, including the tripod on the side, the backpack can be a bit heavy...but the ergonomics of the bag allow you to wear the weight well. Its supported where you want it supported based on how you tighten up straps and belts. It also easily fits in the overhead storage bin on a plane so you can use it as a carryon bag and not worry about it. I wanted to also note that I put my Peak Designs Camera Clip on the left shoulder strap. The strap supports the device very well, and having my camera at the ready whenever I need it is great. In short, I really like this backpack. Im glad I got it. If youre looking for a bag to hold camera equipment and a laptop, go for it!!

Wow; I just got back from hauling this bag around South America and Antarctica for 3 weeks, and it is fantastic. I wanted something that would hold my camera equipment, work as a carry on, and not be uncomfortable. This bag was great on all fronts. The large opening has nice padding for your camera and related equipment. It is a little annoying that you have to lay the bag down and open it flat to pick out an item, but this still worked fine for me. I was also able to put in a ton of stuff that I wanted safe in my carry-on using the front and back pouches. The back pouch was great for tablets, books, papers, etc. that are tall and skinny. The front pouch has great dividers in it to hold onto smaller items in an organized fashion. There are also a couple side pouches, which I used mainly for cords. I was hopeful that they might hold a water bottle, but they are a bit small for that. I did not use the tripod holders, but it is a feature as well. The bag was very comfortable. Many bags exacerbate a shoulder condition I have, but this one, with its waist and chest straps and lots of cushioning, did not hurt to wear. A rain cover is included which will cover the part of the bag that isnt on your back. It was nice to know that I had this, although I didnt find it very practical to use for my purposes. The bag seems sturdy, and held up well. I expect to be able to use it for many years to come. The best thing about this bag is that you get all of this for such a fantastic price. Other similar bags seemed to cost significantly more. I was very happy with my choice to get this one.
