I normally never give a negative review of anything I buy from Amazon, this is an exception. The program would not install and work on a Alienware computer with Windows 7. Their tech support (if you want to call it that) said my computer was too over powered for their program to work. Never heard that excuse before. I was due for a new laptop so bought one with Windows 10. I was able to get the program working on that, but the picture and sound was terrible!!. I installed a SSD in the computer and could do a DVD that was watchable, but still not good. I come to that conclusion by plugging the VCR right into a TV, played it that way and compared the two. Now to the next problem. The DVDs I make wont play on a newer DVD/Blu-ray player, only the older straight DVD player. I find it very strange that you can only get tech support by email?, but I emailed them with that problem. Same old song and dance, they said record at a slower speed, tried that and the picture and sound is terrible so I am giving up on this program and buying something that works and at least has a phone number a person can call for support. If you have a Overpowered Computer and a Blu-ray player, stay clear of this program, its just a waste of time and money.

Works well and easily on Windows 10. There is no Automatic Stop, but you can overestimate the runtime and set a time limit for recording. That works good enough since there is a built in editor that you can use to cut off the end or any in between sections. Definitely past its prime though, as the last New VHS device was discontinued in 2016 and this software supports XP! -1 Star for being so expensive considering its too young to be vintage but old enough to be effectively obsolete on modern OS.

I had 40+ years of 8mm film converted to VHS years ago. No sound. Time to convert the VHS to DVD before it degrades too much. Instructions were easy to follow and the DVD I created plays perfectly with resolution equal to the quality of the VHS. All to be expected. Someone indicated in their review they were unhappy they could not expand the work screen to full screen. True, but it doesnt bother me at all. This was half the price of a product I purchased that didnt work. I cant speak to how well it edits or records with sound but for my purposes, I am 100% happy with this product. I use Windows 10.

I am very happy I chose this brand of VHS to DVD converters. The instructions made it easy to install. I did have one issue so I contacted the seller and had an answer just a couple hours later. It was an easy fix. My issue was an access denied error message. By making sure both my webcam and microphone were available to apps, the issue was resolved. Tech support responded the same day, within just an hour or so of me sending in the support ticket with easy to follow instructions to resolve the problem. Would highly recommend for transferring family VHS tapes to DVD.

It took me almost an entire weekend to figure it out, but once I did, it was great. I must say the directions booklet that came with this product lacked a few details as far as step by step instructions, especially for someone like me who is not computer savvy. After finally going on YouTube, a few details were cleared up for me and I was able to record all of my old family VHS tapes to DVD. Very relieved now that I no longer have to worry about these tapes deteriorating over time. It was worth the time and the $30 spent on the product.

Quality of product and ease of use are each in the 4-5 star range. Desirable feature that is lacking is that when product stops recording after a time period as predetermined by the user, there be an actual indication that the recording has stopped (so that customer can leave the recording alone and come back later without having to keep track by oneself of how much time has elapsed since recording started). More than balancing any minor drawbacks Is the superb customer service, which rates 6 stars for their promptness and helpfulness in responding to any difficulties arising with product usage. Correction and Addenda to my earlier review: No change in my ratings. The software DOES have a built-in timer, to the right of the STOP/RECORD toggle, so it is possible to know how far along you are in the recording. Video input signal parameters can be adjusted independently for Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation and Gamma. For better recording quality, source device should be a 4-head VHS (if available) rather than a 2-head VHS device. As noted by other reviewers., there is a few second delay between the audio and video capture. How important this is depends on what is being transferred. For a lecture, for example, it should not be of significance.

Great product for transferring old vhs tapes to dvd! Being able to keep a backup copy of the file and dvd is always peace of mind knowing tapes don’t last forever. The original software sent didn’t work with my old dell laptop. Tyler the support department lead is Awesome!!!! He sent me another option that worked for my computer. Very happy with product and support.

This product works great! Out of the box I read the easy instructions and was able to transfer videos effortlessly. So far I have transferred about twenty VHS tapes to digital files. There are some color changes and color bleeding but this may be due to the 30+ year old video tapes or maybe the VCR that I am using. Are they the quality of new digital movies? Absolutely not. But the movies are viewable and I have saved quite a bit of money doing it myself and not sending the tapes out to be converted.
