This does work. I am not a computer person and it took me days to figure it out. The instructions online are different than the instructions in the package and the information in the Q&A help is different than both of those. I feel this would be 4 stars if the instructions were cleaned up. Now that Ive got my video, Im trying to figure out how to edit it. That seems just as challenging. It might be easier to locate other software for that. :(

I use Roxio Easy media Creator and Adobe premier Elements 2019 and have been doing video editing for 20+ years (mostly for personal use with occasional work for friends). This device and its software is pretty good for its price. I only used it to capture VHS tapes in MPEG format to import into Adobe Premier Elements. I wish it had more options for capture format - it only captures in MPEG4 format. I also had to unplug the USB device and re-plug it occasionally to get it to be recognized. I am using a custom built PC running Windows 10 (MSI Mainboard with 8 GB DDR 3, 500 GB SSD with several additional storage ATA drives and a 3.4 GHz AMD Phenom CPU). Overall, it does what I need it to and should work well for anyone just wanting to capture RCA or S-Video analogue input.

This was easy to set up and install. Works exactly as expected and on a Windows 11 laptop. Quality of the video it converts is going to be based on how good a shape the VCR tape and player you have.

It was easy to set up and use, the only thing was on the vhs tapes I transfered there was a lag time between the voices and mouth movements, but it may have been the tapes at fault because they were so old.

I was able to accomplish what I needed to. Its not a bad device, but the software is a little dated. With the pricing of the device Im betting there isnt a lot of development (which is completely understandable). I like the size of the device in contrast to other units Ive held/used in the past--its very compact.

I have converted about 20 VHS videos so far with very little trouble. I have more VHS and others yet to go! It has stopped occasionally but a simple restart fixes it. It is not a video editor although it has some capability to crop, but for simply getting video from tape to digital, its super simple. I thought about just sending all the tapes to a service for transfer to digital, but I can get more value out of doing it this way, and I can see what I have. Some of the tapes only have a little bit of video, some I dont care about, so I now know what I have and how to put it together. Ill use a different video editing software for that, but the library I now have of all the old stuff is awesome. Using Windows10.

I used this product to digitize an old Betamax tape. I couldnt get the program working on a computer running Windows 8.1, but it did work on my Windows 10 computer. The preview window in the application wouldnt work, but that may be because I was using a Betamax player. Additionally, my computer did not recognize the USB device, and it was only after I clicked around in the program (I had success clicking the audio and video source input toggles) that the light on the device finally lit up and my computer recognized it. Overall, I have looked at several types of this product, and this one is the most reasonably priced and it does its job well, with a few minor issues that dont affect the recording process in any way. Though I cant say how well it does in digitizing VHS tapes, Im sure they record just fine. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone looking to digitize Betamax or VHS tapes.

Was an easy plug and use. Just downloaded the software. It was actually harder to find a working vcr to plug in to this than it was to use. Recording my memories to my computer for safekeeping
