> 3 dayElgato has done it again, the Stream Deck is the perfect solution to take your production up a level. If you already have the graphic overlays and a solid mic, the stream deck is the next thing you need for broadcasting. It allows you to quickly setup adjustments to your scenes. It is extremely customizable and can do multiple things. You can have it change shots, mute audio and record video. The software is very easy to setup and allows you to customize the icons and actions of your stream deck. This is one of those things that makes a higher quality production, much easier. The build is very solid and the buttons have a great feel to them. Not clicky, but just soft although distinct when pressing. Notes: Make sure your PC is close as the cord isnt super long. I plug it into a USB adapter which has been working well since my CPU is across the room.

> 3 dayAcross all my projects, I use different statistical packages. And for each project, I have a specific set of macros that I run to maintain replicability of my data creation steps and analyses. I have been able to use the Elgato stream deck to organize all my macros and projects with ease. I also have it set to open commonly used software applications on my computer. It works really well with Keyboard Maestro on the Mac OS.

> 3 dayOverall a great product. I dont use for video or streaming-related stuff, I just use it as a generic macro-key auxiliary keyboard. First the pros: - Solid feel, it doesnt feel cheap (it shouldnt, because its not cheap :)) - VERY flexible configuration. You can add any image you want as an icon. Per-application profiles that automatically switch when that application is active give you almost unlimited utility. - Can use with the stand or without. Cons: The reason for 4 stars are a few minor things. - as others have mentioned, the cable could be a little longer. - The built-in icon set is rather underwhelming, this is offset by how easy it is to add your own images, but thats still a lot of work if you have dozens and dozens of buttons. - The drivers and firmware need a little work on how they handle staying connected to Windows 10 PC that hibernates. If you connect it to your computer via a powered hub, then when the PC hibernates, then the device stays on. If you connect it directly to a USB port on the PC, then it also powers off the device, but when the PC resumes from hibernate, the driver does not reestablish the connection to the Stream Deck, and it sits there with the generic boot up screen. Id probably change my review to 5 stars if this one thing was fixed. Without it, I must constantly unplug and then plug back in the Stream Deck.

> 3 dayFirst, if youre still using Windows 7 and not looking to upgrade - dont buy it! There are no drivers for Windows 7 and this was the first thing problem I encountered with, and I couldnt test it until I upgraded to Windows 10. So take this in mind in advanced. I purchased this item for customizing keys for varies software, either recording software or video and photo editing. While its a nice gadget that lets you customize each keyboard key or key-combination along with putting an icon for each key, it has a learning curve. For me I found that Im faster and efficient when working with the traditional keyboard shortcuts. So this device just sat there on the table as a nice looking plant. A short time after I decided to put it back in its box as it began dusting up, and Im allergic. = Bottom line: If you think that youre going to use it, either for software work or for gaming, I say go for it. Otherwise its a waste of money because youre going to pay quite a lot for a great gadget while not utilizing its potential.

> 3 dayI purchased this product because it offers a great deal of flexibility. I cant use this at work because my employer doesnt want to proactively review products that might provide an engineer efficiencies that assist in bringing shareholder value to investors. So here I am with a device that could provide huge levels of efficiencies, but nope. Ill just use this for whatever shenanigans I can get up to with my home network.

> 3 dayI love my Elgato StreamDeck. I use it for playing video games and streaming on Twitch (Captain_Kirk22). It makes for EASY scene transitions along with TONS of other features. It is a little confusing to get the hang of at first. However, after a youtube video or two, you get the hang of it very fast.

> 3 dayMy 15 year old Mad Catz Cyborg Keyboard has more hot keys then this brand new hot device. Majority of the hot keys on this are for a capture card that Elgato makes, if you dont have this device then the majority of the keys/commands are useless. It has some OBS support, but very limited. It can only switch scenes or turn sources on or off, which is great but you cant start or stop stream or recordings or switch profiles without assigning them custom made hot keys. I cant switch any song tracks in Spotify using the multimedia keys while in a game, for example League of Legends. This makes the device completely unusable for me. Given that this is targeted at streamers I would have expected this functionality to work perfectly out of the box. (see edit below) USB Cable is also permanently attached so you cant adjust the length of the cable you need which is frustrating. I also wish there was an on/off or brightness slider physically on the device. I dont need the device to be on 24/7. I wouldnt mind seeing a much more smaller compact strip version of this device that has only 6 Keys for around $50. I would get one for each side of my keyboard. Edit: After contacting Elgato support several times over the last 4 months and not getting any helpful feedback I was finally able to resolve my issues on my own. I needed to take ownership of the C:Program FilesElgatoStreamDeck folder and once I did this the StreamDeck worked in all applications where previously it would only work in some specific applications.

Greater than one weekThis product does everything it says it is going to do. It is a great gaming addition to anyone who does gaming. It is also good for streaming. I would recommend this product to anyone.
