> 3 dayI was naive when buying this and expected to be able to play audio clips through my mic in game and in discord when playing with my friends. It is possible to do so I believe but there is multiple background programs you have to download in order to do so. Other than that the shortcut system is actually fairly useful but I dont think it is needed especially for the price.

> 3 dayIts been a useful addition to my desk. The level of customization is great, wished the Spotify integration was a little more plug and play but it was manageable. Ive been using it mostly for shortcuts, and control of my smart lights.

> 3 dayI am using the Streamdeck XL for controlling functions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 aircraft and other related programs. It works great for this application. The software that programs the Streamdeck is very easy to use and the paper manual that comes with the unit is well written. Very high build quality for the device, and it’s packaging.

> 3 dayI bought this because I stream at least once and wanted to have a better show when I do. The Elgato Stream Deck instantly made streaming easier and better. The one thing I love the most about the Stream Deck is that I can automate pretty much everything to a button. Before I would forget to tweet during my streams because who wants to stop playing to grab their phone to tweet. Well now I can do it by just pressing a button without stopping my play. I also like that when Im ready to stream. I press one button to start my OBS, another button to bring up my twitch channel, another button to tweet and another to start my stream. Way easier if you ask me. You can assign images, memes, sounds, video, applications, and more to a button. If you are using twitch it will even tell you how many people are viewing. It just makes your streams better by allowing you to focus on your audience and the game while adding everything you need at your fingertips. Pros: Very Sturdy product Folders Bright Keys Hotkey Assignments Cons: No support of xsplit or YouTube Gaming Short cord Buttons are sometimes too sensitive

> 3 dayThis is designed for streaming, but thats not what I use it for! I work at a computer and need a handful of applications open all the time. Ive (very easily) assigned hotkeys to the deck to open my apps, and can switch between them at the push of a button. Before, I had to move my mouse down to my dashboard and navigate the exact app. This saves me several seconds and being able to streamline my workflow makes such a difference to me! So while this is definitely beneficial to live-streamers, its also great for anyone who wants to be a little bit or efficient when at the computer. Ive also told it to play/pause/skip/ music and volume, so I can control all of that with my left hand instead of fumbling around on the keyboard. Great stuff. :)

> 3 dayYou can set this thing up to do pretty much anything. I was able to program a button for it to bring me coffee while I am mixing in the studio. Just kidding about the coffee button. But, that would be a great feature to add - (Are you listening Elgato guys?) This is an awesome edition to any system that you use where you wish you could simplify things you do all the time. Such as; I need to open the thing and have the thing go to number one then turn on number six in that order and set the level of number six to -14dB. All by pressing only one button. Yes, You can! Get ready to edit some XML code. Its easy. Really, it is. If I can do it. I know that you can, too. There is a ton of support out there on formats like YouTube and/or the Elgato site. I use it with Pro Tools and also my ATEM Mini Pro for doing zoom lessons when I teach. I have set up macros to do the things that would normally take multiple button presses. It make life easy and better. Get one. You wont hate it.

> 3 dayPossibly the worst named and marketed device yet! This visual programmable keyboard is very, very cool. The documentation is virtually non-existant, the online “Key Creator” is useless. What is this? It’s a keyboard with three rows of five keys. Each key is a mini display giving a beautiful full color image. What you need to know: Key images are 288x288 pixel PNG files Fire up your favorite drawing software and draw whatever beautiful full color key images you want. Assign a key as a “hot key” Drag your image to the spot for the key image Click on the hot key field and type the key this should generate They seem to have the expectation that you will use this with some other software of theirs. Ignore that and you have a great visual keyboard! The feel of the keys isn’t great but it works well. Keys can be assigned as shortcuts for launching programs. Multiple profiles are supported so creating a custom profile for each application is a natural idea. You can assign a key to be a “folder” which then allows you to create a sub folder of more key mappings (if you like this approach).

> 3 dayThis thing is fantastic for a power user. Dont be fooled by the market they push this device toward. You dont need to be streaming gamer to benefit from this thing. If you work all day on the computer and need to switch back and forth between multiple applications and virtual desktops, this will greatly speed up your work flow. At times I have up 7 virtual desktops in action, keeping my personal applications separated from my work applications. You can program all of your own buttons and nest buttons within folders within folders. You can assign arrays of buttons to pop up only when a specific app is focused. The possibilities are pretty much endless. Pretty much any Windows shortcut, either within an application or within Windows itself, can be programmed to a button. And you can upload your own images to each button in every layer. The buttons have a pretty good feel to them and the unit itself is a solid design. Not a cheap plastic toy. If youre a nut about control and customization, dont think twice about this product.

Greater than one weekI was on the fence about getting it... 200 something dollars for it... but.. my viewers love it now that Ive got it!! Using it as a soundboard to play sounds.. obviously you can trigger things to happen in OBS, or whatever live stream program youre using.. and you can use it to start up any program on your PC. I use google earth in my live stream broadcasts... a simple press of a button now turns it on. You can control your microphone mute .. also you can control your webcam if you use one. Can be configured to send out automatic notices to your social media, and to send messages in chat . Easy to use.. easy to install.. easy to program the buttons (literally drag and drop the function you want to perform on the button in the PC app which operates the unit Worth every cent.
