Yep this is a good product. Go ahead and save yourself the headache and buy a brake controller right now. I should have purchased the 79.99 brake controller when I ordered this connector and in the pinch of the moment I then had to buy the exact same brake controller for 126.xx in a store to get the job done. Save yourself that 46 dollars and order a brake controller, in that regard, I would recommend a brake controller that has the custom pinch feature to truly control the trailer. The rig that I just set-up was a 2004 f250 v10 and the trailer Im preparing is a large 27 foot puma camper with bunks. This was a good 7 pin connector, plenty of wire and very easy to install in your factory spot. Sturdy aswell, NOT chinsy.

Easy install and a quality product. The Dual connection option is a useful addition to my trailer towing ability. No need to have adapters floating around to lose or search for when a flat 4 wire plug is required. The plug was easy to install with the purchase of a wiring adapter needed for your particular vehicle. You MUST make a separate ground connection for this plug to work it does not piggyback the ground from the flat plug ground. Other than the additional ground the connection is easy and straight forward. Did not use the mounting bracket it was kind of light in strength I drilled a mounting hole in my bumper near the License plate to mount the plug. Better placement and protected from road hazards in this location. It is also illuminated at night by the License Plate Lights which makes for easier vision in the dark. ******************************************************************************************************* Used it to tow my boat and trailer (5000 lbs.)with disc surge brakes and reverse lock out relay from Cape Cod MA to SW Florida (1700 miles) and did not have a single problem it worked flawlessly.

It great looks good and the plug seems to be hermetically sealed on the backside to prevent any moisture or water to get into the plug great product. the only thing that IO didnt like was the bracket that it comes with. Seamed flimsy to me and I didnt have any good place to mount it. So I just=cut a hole in my bumper and mounted the plug Looks great and mounted solid..

Works for my needs. Exactly what I needed. Exceptional value if you already have a flat four prong connector.

On my particular car, there was no easy, inconspicuous, place to mount the bracket for this adaptor so I had to get inventive and make a special bracket to attach it to the car. Again, thats a design flaw of my car, not the unit itself which otherwise is excellent and works beautifully.

Bracket is thin and flimsy. It flexes too easily once its installed. You have to hold the back of the bracket when pushing a plug into the receptacle, or it would easily be bent completely over. Otherwise happy with the purchase.

We planned to use this on our 2013 Ford Escape (Titanium) with factory towing, but ended up using it on a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT instead (not due to the item itself, but due to the towing capacity of the Escape). The wires are completely sealed with some sort of epoxy where they go into the adapter itself. My only issue here is that the bolts provided for mounting the bracket to the vehicle may not be long enough for several applications. In our case, they were barely long enough to go through the bumper we drilled through on the 97 Explorer. The adapter performed as expected however, and survived a 2500 mile trip without any issues, and we expect it to last a long time to come.

Used it to add a 7 pin connection to 2008 Ford Expedition that came w/ the 4 pin connection. Mine had electric brake pre-wired, but no power line (black). I was able to make holes on the 4 pin connector holder and attach this adapter using nut/bolt. The wires behind the 7 pin connection touch the spare tire a bit, but I was able to install everything w/o much trouble. Looks professional, and so far no issues connecting/hauling a travel trailer.
