> 3 dayThe ground pin on the 4-wire plug broke off even though its never been used. I installed this on my Ford van without too much trouble. I was able to get an adapter to plug right into the vans OEM trailer wire harness at the back of the van and plug the other end into the back of this adapter. I have to run the brake, 12V accessory and reverse light wires separately only because my van doesnt have those wires built into the tow package harness. The real downside to this adapter is the cheap manner in which it was made. The actual wiring side is fine. The plug itself is the issue. Its just really cheap and fimsy. The 4-wire connector broke off just by me removing the plastic cap a few times to test the wiring.

> 3 dayI had an old 7 pin connector ao I decided it was time to upgrade and this was great. It comes with butt connectors for auxiliary power and trailer brakes I cut those off and directly soldered them because I plan on keeping it on for years. I also bought a connector that goes in the middle of the brake/turn lights and has the 4 pin so that was really great

17-12-2024Easy to install, setup, wire up and use. Its nice to have one connection point and be able to plug pin what ever kind of trailer you might want to tow. It works great with my camper, snow mobile trailer, ATV trailer and my old beater gravel, dirt and construction material trailer. Installation: If you have a 4 wire harness already installed (like I did) you can just plug into that for all the lights, blinkers and brake lights, then simply add a break controller for trailer breaking and connect to the wiring on the multi tow adapter. It also has pass through power connections for your attached trailer- which is great for charging your camper batteries while driving down the road. We used this feature all summer while dry camping (camping with out plug in power) all over the midwest United States.

Greater than one weekIronically, the 4-pin plug on this which is made to go into the vehicles 4-pin plug had rubber shielding around the metal terminals to create a seal. I installed this on an 03 F150 which also had said shielding. The two wont work together, only one end is to have this shielding or boot. But fear not as the fix is easy: I just took a utility knife and cut the rubber off the plug on this Hopkins unit. It then plugged into the truck fine. Otherwise, these are not of the most robust construction. Hopkins also sells a more heavy duty adapter under the Endurance line which is of better construction. Ive used both and will opt for the Endurance in the future. The Endurance is gray in color and has a raised X on the 7-pin cover.

Greater than one weekExactly what I was looking for. I can plug in either type pigtail with no adapters required. I replaced my old 7 pin with this dual unit. You need to understand how your vehicle is wired if you have a brake power module. Make sure you unhook the battery during work and map out your wiring before you start. It makes it easier. The instructions provide color codes which are probably 90% correct based on most vehicles, but do not assume so. Get a tester and map the wiring before you start..

> 3 dayLove this adapter. Amazing adapter for the price. The mount is secure as long as you mount it to a stable place. Its very nice to have a 4 pin and 7 pin adapter all in one place. Installed this on my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country. I used

14-12-2024The product is as described, easy to install and does the job. The mounting bracket it comes with is garbage and its surprising someone thought it would be acceptable to ship the product with it.

Greater than one weekThis is a solid adapter that will add a 7 round to your 4 flat plug. It takes a minimum of wiring, and the instructions are adequate, though I had to make use of some online resources. The materials are tough, and I am not afraid this will break at some point. The only reason that I subtracted stars was because the assembly of the adapter was not so great. The center screw on the front of the plug that holds the center wire in was practically falling out. It wasnt that noticeable, and so I spent a good deal of time trying to figure out why not all of my connections were being made.

> 3 dayUsed this to wire up a Tekonsha brake controller, etc to a 2008 Toyota Sienna. Nothing particularly exciting to note here, its exactly as pictured and described. After spending some heavy cash on a kit from a particular online trailer place for my last tow kit, I found it cheaper and less wasteful to order the parts separately.
