Amazing. And HUGE! First, let me say that this is my first Lego set. Ive built Legos before (as a kid) but never anything that came with instructions let alone nearly 200 pages of instructions! The manual was very detailed and easy to follow. I did make a couple of small errors that I caught quickly enough and was able to correct - just needed to pay extra attention when attaching the outer body panels as they do vary slightly. Some of the diagrams were a little tough to decipher due to the complexity of certain pieces but it was all easy enough to figure out. Total build time was around 7 hours at a leisurely pace. First impressions of the completed build: CONS- just a few minor details that would have thrown this set over the top for me. The main command module has no printed details like a hatch or window while the splashdown command module does. The launch escape tower is not easily detached as it would have been in real life. Would have been cool to have room inside the command and lunar modules for the minifigs to be stored - the Lunar module set up would be fine for 2 of the 3 figs to be displayed but the third cant be accurately displayed as the 3rd astronaut would have remained in the command module. I plan to display this with the individual stages separated so I will need to devise a way to make more stands - the three provided are a little disappointing. PROS - very detailed and nearly spot on to the real deal. Challenging but fun build. Amazing how stable and solid the finished set is, well thought out construction. Loved that the build was broken up into the actual stages of the rocket and that the stages are easily separated once completed. Also fun that the service, command and lunar module can be taken out and docked together. The lunar module can also be separated into its decent and ascent stages. And the most interesting detail of all that no one seems to have mentioned in any of the reviews that Ive read....could it be a coincidence that the piece count is the same as the year of the first moon landing - 1969?!? I think not. I swore this would be my first and only Lego set but I saw that there may be a similarly scaled space shuttle released soon. Hmmm...

This set is INCREDIBLE! Totally recommend to anyone who is even vaguely interested. Im 52 years old and it totally brought out the 10 year old in me. Total build time was about 8 hours, 6 beers, 2 gin & tonics, and I took my time with it over a few days. The first stage is the most time consuming. It was just fascinating how it all came together in the end. Now I want to take it apart and do it all over again. Next purchases will be the Vonado umbilical tower, and lighting kit.

I have given this rocket as a gift and receiver loved it. Now I am a 65 year old LEGO mania Grandmother that bought this one for myself! The packaging by Amazon was double boxed and not a mark on the actual Lego box. EXCELLENT JOB AMAZON.

Definitely the most satisfying Lego build Ive done . The result is gorgeous , the build was never too complicated or unwieldy. The instruction book was absolutely top notch . The level of detail including much interior detail you cannot see is amazing . It was a very great way to spend a rainy weekend and will always have a place in my house.

This thing is fantastic. Im a huge space nerd, hence the degree in astrophysics. They spared no expense in designing this thing. Super tall, heavy and worth every penny. Its a great show piece once its built. the minute details make all the difference.

The LEGO Ideas Saturn V is out of stock everywhere and for good reason. Standing at 1 meter tall, its an impressive set piece to any collection. This may be the best LEGO set made in the past decade with a possible exception of the Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS that was released a few years ago. The ability to make round objects in LEGO is not an easy feat. To do it in a way that can be repeated by instruction is even harder. To do both things while making a product you can comfortable hold with one hand knowing it wont break is feat rarely seen in most LEGO sets. Furthermore, there are no stickers that have to be aligned which means you will be able to put the LEGO together with no fear of messing it up with a slanted sticker placement. The stages easily separate when you want them to which allow you to feel in your hand the different parts of the Apollo launches. Not to be taken for granted, the moon landing diorama and the water landing of the command module are both excellently done. The micro figures are well detailed despite being so small and it should come with four so that you have spares. The Lunar lander uses two different types of gold bricks which provide and interesting contrast of an interesting little model. The worst thing about it is that it seems to be sold out everywhere and if it is sold, at a much higher price than the msrp. My advice is to use a third party service that checks websites for you and alerts your phone when in stock. That gave me the best chance to get the correct price. Despite that, I would have easily spent twice what I did for it. An excellent set with a perfect 5 out of 5 star rating.

Bought this in 2017, it sat on a shelf in the garage until I finally built it a day ago. This is the first Lego Ideas set Ive purchased. Very smooth assembly, sturdy, and its just a fantastic, aesthetically beautiful model. An amazing tribute to the handful of brave American men that went to the moon. Now I regret not buying 2 of these when they were $120 (a great price at the time).

Awsome lego set, my kids loved it, tons and tons of fun. $100 is cheap for such a big lego set. Box isnt damiged at all, only the instructrons can be a little bit confusinng for young age.
