> 3 dayWatch a youtube video for instruction. Also I used a c-clamp to hold the chain so I had extra slack to take the chain off the gear. Overall, it worked good for my 1997 liftmaster.

19-12-2024This entire kit made it very easy to install. It comes with everything you need to properly replace the stripped gears to include plenty of lubricant. The door operation is now quieter than its ever been. I expect to never have to replace it again as if it lasts 17 years again, it will be time to update it.

> 3 dayFit my Chamberlain perfectly. There is a great video on YouTube with step by step instructions for disassembly and reassembly. One piece of advice. As mentioned in other reviews, the three holes for the gear assembly are not tapped. I used a hand tap on the plate before reassembly and that made it much easier. Also, the two set screws in the ring collar on the main motor shaft are too long. I re-used the original set screws, as they were shorter. Had I not seen the difference, the longer set screws would have hit that small circuit board next to the collar and broken it.

> 3 daySaved me a ton of money over having a professional come out or getting a new opener! I have a Chamberlain 4100 from 1996 and the nylon gear stripped down over the 21 years until the worm gear couldnt grab it any more. After a little research I found this part number, and after looking at a few websites I decided on Amazon. I paid a few bucks more to get the one sold by Plume Co. and fulfilled by Amazon, because 1) it allowed for free Prime Saturday shipping (so I could fix it over the weekend), and 2) if it was the wrong part or not genuine, it would be a lot easier to return. Definitely the right part, and the package claims its OEM. Quality seems good. Comes with parts I didnt use including the worm gear, but I only needed to replace the main assembly. The replacement itself was super easy, at least on my model - other models might be a bit trickier. The chain portion was a little bit more time consuming, but fairly easy, again at least with my model.
