After going they the process of completely redoing my entire smart home network full of automation, 1 week later the 5G band failed. Despite sending “Advanced Tech Support”, detailed information on their “ Questionnaire ” the issue has yet to be resolved!!

I bought the RT-AX88U to replace an older router. I did piles of research and what I wanted was a router that supported Wifi 6 and also had 4x4 MIMO on both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. This router has it all, plus a good track record for reliability.

Easy setup, strong signals, handled all our IoT devices. Extended range via AiMesh was easy to setup.

We upgraded from an older router where I we were using mesh routers to cover our house. I was able to remove the mesh routers and have great signal strength throughout our house. The only small issue is our tinted windows which block quite a bit of the signal on our patio when the doors are closed.

So I have seem a few people are having problems with this router, but I still chose to buy it

I dont game on this, I just wanted a very reliable and strong signal superfast router -- and I got it.

I bought this router because I already had an older model Asus router and I needed to set up a mesh network in my house to support my home security system. The install went great and my increased wifi footprint reaches my outside cameras perfectly. Patting myself on the back for this one. LOL!

Instructions inside were terrible... no detail. I had to research for a new tech support number, found it, called it. Essentially I was told the only way to get the wireless wifi router to work was to hard wire it! Uhm.... thats not why I spent that kind of money. Returned.

This router was fast and had a great range, so its sad that I had such a bad experience because of one issue. A few months after purchase it wouldnt turn on. ASUS tech support agreed to have me ship it to them as it is still under their warranty. However it has been a month now, and I havent been able to get a clear answer on the status of the fix even after numerous calls to their support center, email and online chat. I still dont know how much longer it will take before they are able to send it back.

Not for the faint of heart or those unused to setting up routers for working with a fiber optic home connection. Had to go back and forth between its support forums, my ISP and tech manuals to get it to work with my fiber data, but my word its a beast now that it is working. This has perfect coverage over a fairly large house, and is very generous for my hardline cabling ports as well.
