Have the 88u and 92u setup in a mesh configuration. UI is great; however, kinks still need to be worked out. Occasionally the WiFi drops out and the router needs to be reset. Personally I think WiFi 6 is not ready for prime time and just needs a bit more time to mature.

Unreliable and poor warranty politic

I have Frontier FIOS (formerly Verizon market) I own my G1100 from VZ and so its been giving me problems 3 years in. I didnt want to rent my router from Frontier so i been researching on reddit and came across this router. Essentially i had difficulty getting the lease to release from the G1100 and ended up calling Frontier who released both the ONT and Router. after that the set-up was easiest via the ASUS app. And i already own an RT68U thats set-up for AP. After set-up the speeds were big especially for Wifi. Plus range was so much better. I am overall happy with the router. Its a bit bulky but seems like a reliable router so far.

I really don’t even want to give it a star! My problem isn’t so much with the product as it is with the tech support. It worked for about 3 weeks. I called Amazon who put with the tech support with ASUS. They had me hard rest which didn’t work! They said they would email me on what to do. Then it started working and worked for about 4 days then stopped. I call Amazon for a replacement and get sent back to ASUS tech again we hard reset. I have hard rest 4 times in 2 months! Instead of saying hey let’s send you a replacement then you can send the defective one back so that you will have Internet they want me to hard reset again. I have now been dealing with this since May2021…two months with out internet. I live in a campground with no Wifi so this was what I had to do. Now Amazon wants refund my money cause they don’t have anymore of this model but because it is past the 30 days they are charging me a restocking fee of $53 dollars!!!! So $53 dollars less than what I paid for it! So be ware when buying this product from Amazon!

Great coverage and speed

I purchased my ASUS router to replace a 15 year old router. What a difference! Wifi speeds increased from 30 megabits to 367 megabits and the range expanded dramatically. I was able to take my two wifi boosters offline and still have a great signal throughout my house. The ASUS router has a MESH option but the signal is so strong I dont need it. Wired and wireless speeds are the same almost everywhere in my home. Set up was pretty much plug and play. The ASUS router ap allows me to monitor and control the router direct from my phone or via laptop. Im very pleased with my purchase.

I purchased this primarily after scouring several reviews on which would be a good router to cover a single story house with 3500Sq ft. This one foots the bill perfectly. From one end of the single story house to the extreme other end, I still get a signal. I have a gigabit internet, but was not using the whole bandwidth due to me having an old TMobile Cellspot1900 router (which internally is RT 68U). Its range was very limited. This 88U is having a lot of advanced features and also I can immediately see the results. I am getting almost 250-300Mbps at several locations throughout my house. It also looks stylish with the antennas. If you need a router with great range, this is it. You could wait till you get 6E Router, and later Wi-Fi 7 router and so on, and you shall keep waiting. Oh, one last thing, I plan to setup my existing one as a AiMesh as well to increase the range, which I could do with this one.

The router is fast. But at this price it better be. The interface is complicated. It took a lot of effort and detective work to set up a guest network. And at this price you’d expect the gold standard of parental controls. One that would allow you to customize restrictions based on the individual needs of your family. Instead, you get cookie cutter choices that groups all children into certain categories. You’d like to allow them to stream educational programming but not R-rated movies? Sorry, you’re out of luck. So this was actually a disappointment. If you just want speed you can find cheaper options.
