Everything worked fine connected to my cable modem with one cable.

Purchased this 10/2021 and after setting it up the wi-fi speeds were insane. The first 5 days I was extremely pleased. Then, as others have stated, the wi-fi started randomly dropping. Working from home, this has become a serious issue but par for the course for Asus. As others have recommended, I have disabled the ax mode and I will hope for the best. I wont even mess with the AI mesh as there are major issues there. Firmware has been upgraded when initially set-up and I will continue to update if anything changes. When the router works, its beyond excellent, but seriously aggravating with the wi-fi and AI mesh issues.

Great signal strength throughout 2500+ square feet.

Ive been using Asus as my main go-to router for almost 8 years now. I had a 68U before but I needed a bigger coverage so I went with this one and Im not regretful.

Not for the faint of heart or those unused to setting up routers for working with a fiber optic home connection. Had to go back and forth between its support forums, my ISP and tech manuals to get it to work with my fiber data, but my word its a beast now that it is working. This has perfect coverage over a fairly large house, and is very generous for my hardline cabling ports as well.

Everything as advertised.

I love Asus routers. This is the 3rd I have owned in 12 years. My old one was still working well. But I wanted to get the latest in security and speed. I get Spectrum broadband. On my old router the throughput speed was 30 to 45 mps. As soon as I installed this router the speed jumped to 70 mps consistently.

IT WA STATED AS HUMAN FRIENDLY BUT FOUND IT NOT TO BE FOR SET UP IN FACT WAS THE OPPOSIT NOT EASY TO CONFIGURE SO RETURNED ITEM

This is the fastest router Ive ever used. Range is excellent: it covers my entire medium-sized house without needing a mesh network. I even get good speeds now at my computer in the farthest room, an area where my previous dual-band router was pretty spotty.

I love ASUS products but I think its too early to go after AX for the price. If I plug directly into my modem I get over 200Mbps download... but when I connect to this router it was capping me at 99Mbps, it cut my speeds in half! I just went back to my RT-N66U which gives me the exact same speeds and range as this AX-88U.
