> 24 hourThis device is awesome, runs rings around everything else Ive ever used before. Only one flaw ive found...dont try to ease this thing down stairs by the handle; the handle latch is not strong so when it bumps the step coming down the handle opens, the motor unit flops, and all the tanks and such go tumbling down the stairs. theyre built tough, didnt seem to break anything and luckily the dirty water tank was empty. I know this unit has handles for picking it up, I have a bad back and lifting 50 lbs down the steps wasnt an option. Next time ill just remove the tanks a make a couple of trips. Buy this thing but just be wary of the handle latch.

> 24 hourThis review is for the Bissell Big Green. My carpets are old and very light in color. I live with three dogs. One of them is a senior and her bladder isn’t what it used to be. I’m not disciplined enough to wipe their paws before coming back inside, so my carpets take a bit of a beating in tracking in dirt and grime. This is the first “high end” carpet cleaner I’ve owned, but in my garage is a grave yard of floor cleaners that didn’t work too well. This machine exceeded my expectations. After purchasing MANY carpet cleaners (everywhere between the $130 to $250 range), the Big Green did its job quite well. THE PICTURES TELL IT ALL: 1 - See the picture with the white dresser to left. You can clearly see the difference in the carpet between the cleaned area (in front of the dresser) and the uncleaned area (toward the front of the picture). 2 - A few weeks prior to getting the Big Green, I cleaned my upstairs carpets with a Hoover Spin Scrub PressurePro Max Extract 60. In the photo with the loft rails in the background, you can see a line down the middle after cleaning half with the Big Green (left side uncleaned, right side cleaned). 3 – The four remaining photos consist of two sets of before and after pictures of old pet stains. The pet stains were several years old with multiple attempts to remove with a variety of cleaners over the years. The results were AWESOME! OTHER ODDS AND ENDS: 1. The buckets are clearly marked as to how to put them back in the machine. You can’t do it wrong (if it were possible, I would have done it) 2. The machine did well on my carved area rug. It’s a good, heavy rug – not sure I would use it on a light rug 3. No leaking!! Even when tipping it to remove debris from the brush roll (this is a problem I’ve had with almost every other cleaner I’ve owned) 4. Suctions up the water nicely for quick drying. My area rug seemed to hold moisture more than my wall to wall carpet and took longer to dry, but the pad under the rug was dry. 5. The cap on the clean water tank serves as a measuring cup for the shampoo, which is very convenient. 6. 5 year warranty 7. Easy to pull out the brush roll and clean behind it 8. Easy to empty dirty water tank and clean it (other carpet cleaners have a hole to dump the water through so it’s difficult to rinse out the tank and remove all of the sediment that accumulates) 9. The tanks are a milky color – I would prefer they be more transparent so that you can see where the water levels are and see the dirty water being suctioned up. 10. The machine is a bit clunky to maneuver to do another pass, but with practice it gets easier. Likewise, it’s awkward to get smaller areas. 11. One of the biggest points in negative reviews was water gushing out of the flow indicator and the location of authorized Bissell repair facilities. Before purchasing this machine, I located an authorized Bissell repair facility from the Bissell website and called the facility to ensure they were still in business and are still authorized to perform warranty services. I’m bringing this up because it is a large purchase and the machine is way too big and bulky to send it somewhere for repair. I’m not sure if the flow indicator is covered under the warranty, but replacing it is relatively inexpensive and I’m confident I have somewhere close to repair it. There are also UTUBE videos on how to replace it. In summary, I WAS AMAZED at what this machine picked up and am 100% satisfied with the purchase. If I encounter issues upon future uses, I will update this review. P.S. If you found this review helpful, please indicate. THANKS!

> 24 hourI was total blown away about how well this shampooer cleans. We are in our early 80s and I was a little worried if I bit off more then I could chew. But then if so Id just call one of the grand kids for help but it was easy to run and did a great job I would recommend this shampooer to anyone

> 24 hourI am amazed (and disgusted) with what came out of my carpet. I have been buying cheap ones from Walmart for years and they do not hold a candle to the amazing job this carpet shampooer did. Worth every penny.

> 24 hourI have hired carpet cleaning companies and nothing cleans and gets up stains as good as the big green machine. I use to rent this machine from Lowe’s every 6 months but finally decided to buy one of my own. Best carpet cleaner for pets and high traffic area carpets. Love it

> 24 hourI wanted to get a real professional carpet cleaner. I seem to go through those cheaper $200 and $300 ones every year or 2. They do not seem to hold up. In searching I really htought I wanted a rug doctor since I have rented them several times and if hat many people use them and they still work great , that has to say something. I was reluctant to get this over the rug doctor that I know works well. I ended up getting the Bissel due to the arm folding down for storage. Works really good. I am not disappointment at all and the arm going down for storage is incredibly helpful! I would definitely recommend this carpet cleaner

> 24 hourIt really disgusts me how poorly made many of todays products are. I like to buy something for life. I prefer to spend more to get something that I wont have to replace in a few years time. Heck, I still drive a 17 year old car I bought new in 1997--it doesnt look so great anymore, but it gets me around, its cheap to own and maintain, and hasnt left me stranded! The Bissell carpet cleaners are a good example of this. In the late 90s, I had purchased one of the Bissell carpet cleaners. While I was using it maybe once per year, there was a span of a few years where I didnt use it at all. So it is not like I used it that often. Over the years, one by one, something else would break on it. Or it would leak. Or the bearings would start wailing like a banshee (which screams cheap imported bearings to me). The last straw was earlier this year when the container of detergent kept coming out steadily, and was completely drained after running the cleaner for 10 minutes. I was not alone either--I know a few friends/family personally who bought a similar machine and they, too, had it only last them a few years. Fed up with Bissell, I looked at the others. Yet here on Amazon, just about all of the cleaners (Hoover, Bissell, etc.) has similar reviews--cheap plastic, leaks, early failures, just total junk. Yet this Bissell 86T3 stood out as having a five-star rating, with hundreds of votes. The more I read, the more I realized that I needed to give this machine a try. I was going to rent one from Lowes, but a Warehouse Deal came along that made it irresistible. It showed up yesterday, courtesy of FedEx. In the evening, I tried it on a high-traffic area in the family room, which has an off-white low-pile carpeting. It still has a couple of streaks, but man, is it ever bright! I havent seen it this clean since I moved into this house four years ago. The old Bissell lightened it a bit, but this one totally took control and sucked up a lot of dirt. (One area is a run between the kitchen and back door, and the other is the area around my work desk.) I may go over a few spots again now that I am more used to the machine. Today I tackled a bedroom (including a mattress) and the living room. And again, it pulled up muck that poured out of the waste container in a dark grey color. And yes, its like the other reviews have said: the carpet does not take long at all to dry. This 86T3 has serious suction! (The other Bissell couldnt suck up a dead gnat.) Moving furniture around, I was able to use a large fan to dry off the carpet in about a half hour. The carpet isnt exactly new looking, but it looks way better now. It always amazes me how much gunk hides in our carpets! Construction--the plastic is thick and heavy, in the main body and in the tanks. Fully loaded, its a bear to lift. But like others say, cart it around or lift it without the tanks to make things easier. It is also a bit difficult to steer but you get used to moving it in longer strokes to make up for it. I tried the hand tool in the bedroom to get in some tight corners, and the hose is long and sturdy, with no worries about kinking it like the cheaper Bissell cleaners. I likely would not have paid full price for this, but even if I had to pay more than the Warehouse Deals price, at least I am more confident that this cleaner will last me a while.

> 24 hourThis machine is heavy but wow !!! It cleans carpet so so good !!! I ordered a tineco pro carpet washer and sent it back it left so much dirt in carpet . This is the best I have ever used . I own a Kirby a rainbow E2 and I also have a hoover pet pro carpet washer that is making a bearing noise that was the one I used the most it lasted 3 years . I decided on tineco because of the sensor gimmick and drying function but what a waste of time . Who wants dry carpets if there still dirty . The pictures are three days later after I cleaned with tineco pro carpet washer and the sensor said carpet was clean !! What a gimmick ! Last two pictures are the tineco hardly no dirty water removed . The Bissel is a beast !! I love it ! It doesn’t take long to dry just do more dry passes . I did to front and back et and two front and back dry . After I kept running machine over till I didn’t hardly see any water coming to tank . This machine has súper suction . You need some one to stand on other end of carpet when doing your runners in hallway .

> 24 hourThis is our third different carpet shampooer in the last three decades.. at least thats how I remember it. One was a Hoover with the five round spinning brushes which we lost in a house fire, and I cant remember the other It heated the water but got tossed because it eventually leaked. I will add that I worked for Electrolux one summer for some spare change when I was teaching so I have been around some pretty nice equipment and know how to clean carpeting. We have a new home now with some very nice, upgraded carpeting. We needed a new shampooer because we live on ten rural, burned-over acres with a lot of dirt and dust when it is dry and a good amount of mud when it is wet. We also have a rambunctious German Shepherd. With a sort of beach-sand, tan color deep, dense carpeting I want to keep clean I needed something that could do the job. I spent a good amount of time shopping and when I finally came near the end it came down to a choice between the Bissell Big Green and the Rug Doctor. I chose the Bissell. The pre-sale factors were the numerous reviews of the Bissell stated that it got the carpet really dry, it was easy to use, it was smaller, and came with the accessory hose, and cost less. I got a chance to shampoo the entry way at our front door. There is a vinyl area just inside the door, and beyond that is a carpeted area about 12 feet long and 6 feet wide. Following the mixing directions I made about half of a tank of cleaner and followed the directions for use. Hold the spray button while walking forward and then back, then release the button and make a similar pass to pick up the cleaner. I did much the same for three small area rugs made from scraps of the same carpeting. One of those sits in the kitchen at my espresso bar and gets stained with coffee grounds, dripped coffee, and more. Also the carpet inside the utility room with a door to our attached garage. That one acts are a door mat from when I come in, sometimes with muddy shoes from working on our property, often with hand tools or when running our tractor and chipping burned brush and trees.. You can imagine what that one looked like. The results: I could not be more pleased. After just 8 months living in our new home it was astounding how much dirt Big Green pulled up. I made an extra pass or two to pull up as much of the cleaner as possible, and just after a couple of hours the carpet felt humid when I ran my hand over it, and in around four hours was dry. I vacuumed the carpet I shampooed this morning and you could close your eyes and walk on it and feel how much fluffier it is compared to the area I did not clean with Big Green. SUCTION: good suction efficiently applied to carpet is the key to an efficient shampooer. You can use a garden sprayer and a floor broom to loosen the dirt, but without a way to get that moisture and dirt up it is a waste of time. Big Green has an efficient brush roll that is easy to clean and by removing a few easy-to-access screws makes changing belts easy as well. And did I mention excellent suction! Even the hose and hand tool did a very good job on an old muddy footprint my dog left some time ago. With the other shampooers I would have to shampoo, then pick up that liquid, then put clean water to rinse the carpeting and it would still come up dirty, and then sty wet for a long time, sometimes being heavily humid still the next day. I had rented the Rug Doctor in the past and am so glad I got the Big Green. For a home owner, it surpasses the Rug Doctor in so many ways. It stores easily in a closet, the tanks are easy to fill and clean and attach simply and quickly to the base unit, the handle release can be operated by your foot, and the folding handle makes storing easy. Although it weighs around 50 pounds, it is not difficult to move and the weight keeps the business end on the carpet where it belongs. Have you really read this far? Just go buy the thing and enjoy your clean carpets!

> 24 hourOf everything Ive ever purchased on Amazon, which trust me has been a lot, I have never purchased anything Ive enjoyed using more than this carpet shampooer. The Bissell Big Green is so worth the money! Its literally a workhorse! I cleaned my big overstuffed sectional and it looks brand spanking new! After using the big green on my carpet, it looks brand new. This thing cleans like crazy!!! And I love it. Its easy to prepare for use. The shampoo that goes with it (by Bissell) is what you want to use. It cleans so well. I could not be happier!!!! If youre considering a carpet shampooer you might want to consider this. It will pay for itself eventually. I have had many carpet shampooers over the years but Ive never had one that does what this one does. Its absolutely awesome!!!
