If you want something that actually works compared to those soldering irons that you plug straight into an outlet without temperature control, this is one of your best and most bang-for-buck options (the other being a Weller). Have logged dozens of hours of soldering on this device on a single tip (chisel) on basic through-hole and some light SMD work without issue. The flush cutters are a nice bonus.

After using a $5 soldering iron from Radioshack for years, this soldering iron just brings a tear to my eye on the time it takes to heat up. it has turned the soldering process from a pain to a pleasure. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in soldering!

Awesome soldering station! I was a little concerned that it might be a counterfeit because of the low price. I disassembled the unit to verify the markings on the pcb, everything checks out.

This is my first soldering iron and it works really well. It heats up in like 15 seconds or so, and when Im done it stores away easily back into the original packaging. I think it probably would be annoying if you had to change your temperature a lot and do a ton of temperature adjustments, but I almost never change mine.

Awesome soldering iron heats up fast and is well made its top of the line and priced to sell. The only gripe I have is its controls take some getting used to, and is the reason for 4 stars.
