The original replacement remotes were discontinued a while ago so when my last one quit working I was worried Id need a whole new opener. Nope, these work great on the old old old intellicode openers. Only the middle button will open the door. It can also be pretty tough to find the program button on your opener unit. Its just a little tiny plastic push button. Some are red, some purple. Mine was white. Therell be a little LED near it. If you push it quickly the LED will flash and you can add your new remote by pressing its middle button which will cause the LED on the opener to stop flashing. You can also clear the openers memory which will remove all programmed remotes. This is done by pressing and holding the program button on the opener for about 10 seconds.

Needed to add an extra opener. This is exactly what I wanted. Easy to set up and use!

Did exactly what I needed it to, which was to replace the very old remotes originally installed in 1999. These were very easy to program and feel sturdy. Plus Amazon’s price beat Lowe’s and Home Depot by $10 so super happy with the price as well.

This remote works fairly well. The program method for Genie remotes is kinda weird but I got it to work. My main issue is that you have to be much closer than you would be when using one of the larger remotes (like the one that comes with the garage door motor). My roommate has the larger one and can use it about a 100 feet away, even one street over. By contrast, I have to be at the edge of the driveway for mine to work.

Had to buy this to replace one of the little dinky 10 year old ones that I lost right after we moved in our new home. The weird clip/holder for the original unit was flimsy and had obviously failed for the original owner. Since the clip was unreliable and only sporadically held onto the remote, I carried the remote in my pants or coat pocket. Now it must be somewhere out on the street laying where it landed when I sat down or reached in my pocket for something and it escaped unnoticed. The programming instructions with the new remote did not agree with the original programming instructions on the old unit. First try to program it failed. Second try failed. Tried both methods again. Based on the instructions, I was worried that trying to continually re-program the new one probably erased the codes stored in the other original dinky unit so I would now have two useless remotes. Finally, just before trying to return it, I gave it one last try and it worked. Both old dinky and new little-larger-than dinky are OK. I gave it 3 stars but changed it to 4 since the programming failures were probably operator error. Looks like it goes on your keyfob but its too big for that - I wish it was bigger so it would be harder to misplace.

Works fine. I find the buttons are a bit small for my big fingers and I find that I’ve really got to put some pressure on the button for it to work.

Genie Model GIRUD-1T works well with these remote controls, learning/programming process is quite easy; remote control distance is quite decent. Good price, good product.

Bought these to replace my original door openers that were 18 years old and becoming problematic. I had a GenieH4000A purchased in 2003. These remotes were so easy to install and were both installed within 30 minutes, start to finish. Would have taken less time if our reset button was on outside of door opener case, but we had to remove the cover plates on both doors first. Love these openers. Hopefully these openers continue to work well once we start using them on a daily basis. They are on the small side, will fit great in a purse, if necessary A big plus is now I have a remote that will work on either of my two garage doors rather than my husband and I both having to carry two larger door openers in our cars to have access to each garage door.

Nice unit. This is my second controller. Some of review comments I read, while buying the first one, that you must get close and often doesnt respond quickly. I found it works very reliably and from a reasonable distance. There is a consistent lag between pressing the button and the door movement but it works every time if I wait the ~2 second delay before pressing button again. In bought the first one for motorcycle and is small enough to be convenient
