> 3 dayHad a new Keyboard and Battery for my mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina fitted at Mac Wave, Cape Town, South Africa (Great Service - shipped from Johannesburg on the Monday returned to me on the Thursday). Then fitted the OWC SSD 1TB (ordered from Amazon) through the OWC easy to follow video and instructions. Feel like I now have a new 2012 Macbook Pro Retina. Have to decide now whether to try a patch file to run Big Sur or to stick with Catalina.

> 3 dayUnlike some other machine, a seven year old Macbook Pro can still be pretty viable. I was fine with the machine, but bumping into storage limits. Mine was the last model before they went to NVM drives, but upgrading the storage was still way cheaper than replacing the system. I wish this product was more competitively priced, but its one of the few that handles power management correctly so I was OK spending a premium to keep my (formerly premium) system working well on battery. The upgrade itself is super easy. The tools are included and videos make it comfortable. Once the bottom is off, theres literally one screw to the upgrade itself. I went with the version that included the external case out of laziness. I could have made a(nother) time machine backup and wrestled with restoring that over WiFi, but putting the old drive in the external case and booting into System Recovery to copy the drive and I moved all 128GB in probably ten minutes or so. I didnt have to manually mess with partition tables or otherwise think about it too much. The upgrade was easy and the result is flawless. I now have an external SSD thats handy for moving projects to and from client machines.

Greater than one weekLike most, I purchased the 256GB SSD MacBook Pro Retina back in 2012. I bought an external HD to deal with not having enough space, but I was sick of carrying it around. I cant tell if this SSD is necessarily faster, but install was easy. I made a Time Machine backup from my old SSD and restored it in recovery mode in about 3 hours.

Greater than one weekAlready uninstalled from the laptop because it was giving so many problems. Apple software later than High Sierra wont allow certain things to work with this drive because of security. Never experienced anything like this. Customer became irate rightfully so because they lost most of their information

> 3 dayI have a Macbook Pro Retina model A1425 and bought this SSD to increase my disk space; as advertised it was a very easy DIY installation (it took me barely 8 mins or so to do it), and after it was installed my Mac is ever running faster. So to me, this was a great purchase. Additionally it was shipped pretty fast, so two thumbs up for this item and the seller.

> 3 dayI have this SSD for 2 months and it works perfectly. There was initial confusion with network recovery, but it was due to Macbook requiring good wifi. My router did not work for network recovery. So initially i was blaming SSD, however as soon as I brought computer to work, the network recovery ran just fine.

> 3 dayUpgraded a 256 to this. The case for the old drive is a hefty chunk of metal and the cable is quite (unnecessarily) beefy, but the drive itself went in and worked well. If youre at all familiar with computer disassembly, this is a trivial and worthwhile replacement. Its a pity that Apple isnt really doing anything worth buying a new Mac over!
