> 3 dayNow my 2013 MacBook Pro is much faster. It was easy to install but I would have liked a little more information on how to do the data transfer from my old drive to the new one. The case for the old drive is very nice. I use that drive as a Photoshop scratch disk. Im very happy.

> 3 daySadly, my macbook pro version has no aftermarket RAM upgrade. But the SSD can. This kits is highly recommended and works. My macbook is like a new machine.

> 3 dayI did have to file a bit of the resin off one end of the board but other than that, installation was a breeze. Required installation tools were included as well. Hopefully the drive will last a long time.

Greater than one weekI replaced the stock 256GB SSD with the 480GB Aura Pro. Install took minutes with the included tool. The included external case is well made and works fine. Overall: Worth it.

> 3 dayThe 250GB SSD in my MacBook Pro had become a seriously-limiting factor. I really needed about 1TB. This kit solved that problem. Installation of the new SSD in the MacBook Pro was straightforward with all the necessary tools and instructions supplied. No difficulty with the installation. The only problem I ran into was that the old SSD did not make good contact with the connector in the enclosure provided. Initially my MacBook Pro did not see the old SSD as an external drive (used to transfer all your old data to the Mac after the new disk is initialized). I found that pressing lightly on the SSD card in the enclosure solved the problem. A couple of strips of tape used as thin spacers between the SSD and the top of the enclosure solved the problem. Were it not for this one small glitch, I would have given this kit 5 stars. Regardless, this is an excellent value and has allowed me to put off purchasing another laptop for another year or so.

> 3 dayDrive was easy to install in a 2012 MacBook Pro. So far it has been working like a champ and gave me the extra hard drive space I needed. This should extend the use of this MacBook for a couple more years. So far Im very pleased.

> 3 dayI have a 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina Screen. The original drive wouldnt boot but I was able to get it working once erased and everything was reloaded. I didnt have confidence in the original drive so I thought I would try the OWC drive. Note: I had to hold the option key down versus command + R and then hit the power button the first time booting. While I was able to get it to work, it had problems with the macOS Updates as well as the App updates. Im not sure why but maybe the MacBook recognized it was not an apple drive. I did reach out to OWC and the tech was very helpful and helped me update to a newer version of macOS (High Sierra vs. Mountain Lion which is what automatically got loaded). The problem is that compared to the original drive, it wouldnt automatically update me to the latest possible macOS. I spent hours on it trying to figure out how to automatically take to me macOS Catalina. I will admit I could have manually loaded it myself but compared to the original drive, all you had to do was click on Software Updates and it would automatically look for all available updates. This wasnt about just the macOS updates but also there were other app updates that kept getting hung up with the old drive. I compliment OWS on their tech support but in the end, Im returning it and taking my chances on the original drive. I am 100% certain there is something different in the way that the MacBook recognizes the Original vs. OWC drive. I spent enough time on both of them, wiping them clean and then starting from scratch to know that the updates behaved differently. Maybe someone has the solution that can help the next person?
