Amazing. Works exactly as I suspected. Buy! Take my advice: if cloning your drive, do so over sata came and forgo the USB. Much faster and less likely to fail. Not due to the drive but by losing USB connection during transfer.

Installed it on my MacBook Pro 2012. It made my computer super fast. It was easy to set up. Highly recommend.

In April 2015, I purchased 2 SSDs, one for each of my desktop PCs. One of the SSDs has recently failed, so I tried to return it to Samsung for warranty replacement. Long story short, Samsung refused to honor the warranty because the reseller I purchased it from, maxproductsales, is not an authorized Samsung dealer. I was happy with Samsungs customer service, as they were very responsive to make arrangements for the service. Once I uploaded my invoice, they saw that it was not purchased from Amazon (what I thought I did), but from a 3rd party reseller - maxproductsales. My request for warranty service was denied. This is my fault for not checking exactly where I bought the unit from and will have to eat the cost. I ordered a new replacement sold directly by Amazon.com, which is an authorized Samsung internet dealer. The 2nd SDD is still working fine.

Sooooo much faster than the traditional HD that came with ASUS G751. Honestly the only reason Im giving it a 4 star review is that I had an issue cloning the drive. MAKE A WINDOWS INSTAL USB OR DVD BEFORE INSTALLING!! When I cloned the drive using the software, after everything was cloned, I kept getting stutters every 30 seconds or so. Then, I tried to restore the drive. This was a big mistake that screwed the Windows instal. After I got a fresh Windows instal (and deleted all the extra partitions made when I cloned the drive) it has been amazing!! So fast to boot!! No more waiting for my browser to load, so fast at loading games!! I highly recommend, just save yourself some heartache and do a fresh install from the beginning.

Love the added speed of this. I installed it on day one of getting my new Alienware 17 R2 (2015). Just a heads up the 500 GB was the best value when I bought mine... it was $187 and the 1TB was well over double that instead of cheaper then double. When I first installed it and turned the Samsung Magicians RAPID Mode on the laptop would shut down in under 4 seconds and turn on in under 8 seconds! It is really a nice upgrade and the fact that it is guaranteed for 5 years and flash memory is supposed to be far more safe and reliable makes me feel like my data will be much safer. I have 2 of these and just bought a third 500gb off of warehouse deals to add more storage. BUYER BEWARE!!! I got a 500gb model in the box and when hooked up to my computer it turns out someone had swapped out the innards with a 250 gb version. The other two work flawlessly but if buying from warehouse deals you may get scammed by some douchbag like I did.

Put this in my Wifes 2012 MacBook Pro and it saved me from having to buy a new computer! Super fast, great investment. Oh, I also upgraded from 4GB of RAM to 8GB at the same time. Totally worth it. I did only buy this because they were on special at the time though, ha.

Blazingly fast --even on a SATA-2 interface! I just did a clean install of Windows 10 on this baby and couldnt be happier. It runs circles around my old Plextor PX-256M3 SSD. Between Windows 10 and this Samsung 850 EVO 500, my 4 year old Sony VAIO VPCF1390X feels like a new machine.
