SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM)

Excellent drive. using it right now. 2 years ago I bought my wife and eve 840 500GB and this drive cost half what I paid for the 840.

Midway through my last term of Junior year of college, my hard drive crashed. I was obviously devastated by this. I hadnt even had the chance to do my scheduled upload to the cloud that week. Anyway, with the term gone and a great friend to do the assembly, I got my laptop back. It works faster than ever and though I still use the cloud and other external media for backups, I feel safe using my new SSD without any major problems.

2nd one I have purchased for 2 different computers, its the only upgrade you will need on an older computer to make it feel new again.

Bought this to use in my Macbook Pro (Late 2011) and it works great! Computer is much faster (compared to old 7200rpm drive) I dont really want to buy a new mac because you cant easily upgrade the memory or storage anymore. So I this will be fine for now. OS X doesnt support TRIM unfortunately for 3rd party drives, well see if that is a problem in the future. Unfortunately I choose to quit using boot camp on this computer because Windows ran this drive as IDE! and it ran very slow on windows... (its a known thing on internet) So I just put windows on another computer.

I have had this beauty for over a year now and it still surprises me how fast this thing really is. I have to say that Samsung SSDs are the only solids I will get the quality is just there

I bought this SSD in July, and it worked fine for 3 months before my PC start crashing and bootlooping. Three Windows installations, hundreds of bluescreens, and countless hours of diagnostics later, I decided to send it in for a warranty repair. This is where the headache gets worse: The model sold to me by EOM Distributors was a European one. Ive spent the better half of the past two weeks talking to Samsung reps (remember, around Christmas time), and they referred me to Samsung Europe. The SSD department is in the Netherlands and they dont have live chat setup, so good luck talking to them live. Samsung Europe told me that in order to warranty repair this device, I would have to pay the shipping BOTH ways. According to UPS, thatll cost me over $200! So basically, Im left with a broken computer (and SSD) with no one to call to. I persoanlly believe that EOM Distributors LIED to me when they sold this model under the American model name (B/AM). I will try to get in contact with them shortly about all this. Bottom line, do not buy from EOM Distributors unless you want NO warranty overeager if youre not a European! ----------------------------------- Same day edit: I talked to Amazon customer service and they refunded me the full amount. Lighting fast!! My laptop now boots in less than 15 seconds when before it was several minutes. I am a bit of a power user, usually with two different web browsers, multiple tabs in each, Outlook, Excel, another email client, Crystal Reports, and usually an Explorer window or two, along with 3 monitors. The SSD drive sped up everything in my machine. With the long warranty (300TB transfer guarantee) and the Samsung name, it should last you well into needing a newer machine!

Awesome, simply awesome. For ~150 bucks, this was easily the best upgrade for my (still fast) O/Cd i7-920 since I built the machine 6 years ago. SSDs - particularly from Samsung - are EVERYTHING they say they are. Period, full stop.

I bought one a few weeks ago to replace an old laptop drive; works perfectly so far. Im taking away a couple of stars because when I went to buy another one, the price went up $30
