Im rating this as 5 stars based on my needs and the SSDs performance. Not saying it will be your nirvana. This is my second purchase of this item. I installed the first one in my daughters old Dell laptop. On its best days it would crawl. Cloned the OS installed this SSD and BAM! it was a new machine. I was impressed enough to get one for the Boss (read wife) who was complaining about the long boot time. Again, clone and install. Now the Boss is happy, and if the Boss is happy, everybodys happy. Good price, good performance, plug and play. If youre not looking to turn your computer into a Cray, youll probably like this.

I ordered this hard drive to replace a failed 5200 rpm drive in my netbook. My HP DM1Z is about 4 year old and is connected to my TV to assess content like you tube and amazon instant videos that my 6 year old Samsung TV does not support anymore. It was really easy to install with included spacer to accommodate this thinner drive and I was able to put on my windows 7 ISO without any problem. I would say that I do not use this computer as some of the other people, but I am completely satisfied with performance of this drive and would not hesitate to recommend or use in my other systems.

Wow I really am impressed with this, I already have used SSDs before but never though the performance boost would be so insane! So basically I bought this to upgrade an ancient computer with a Pentium 4 HT in it, it previously had a noisy and slow 240gb Seagate Drive and boy was it slow, I had already upgraded my computer to use a SSD as the primary and loved the results, I however originally planned to buy a Samsung 850 Evo, but unfortunately they where sold out at the time, I was desperate for a SSD though so I said Hey SanDisk has been making solid flash storage for a while so why not give them a shot? So I did! Out of the box you get the SSD itself, some sort of plastic assume is for Laptop compatibility, and other basic stuff (No Sata cable included folks, you will have to provide your own), so to get everything done I simply cloned the drive and I was all set... but was I? Not really before you can take full advantage of an SSD you need to do a few things: 1.Disable Superfetch (SSDs are really fast and all superfetch does is add unnecessary R/Ws) 2.Install SanDisks SSD Software ( This really should be the last step but its not) 3.Opimize your drive (On Windows 8.1+ the Defrag option is replaced with an optimize option, I recommend you do this first) *If you are on Windows 7 and bellow please DO NOT DEFRAG you SSD, this only worsens its performance and basically kills it a bit* Boot speeds increased on this old system greatly, but more impressive is how a single SSD and no other change to this old system greatly improved its overall performance. So I would definitely recommend this product, specially by its pricepoint.

SUPER FAST!!!! My laptop is like the Millennium Falcon jumping into hyperspace after smelling some cocaine, dropping a hit of LSD, popping some speed, drinking a 5 Hour Energy, smelling a little more cocaine and chasing it all with a Red Bull followed by a Monster and Mt. Dew.... Then it happens... Blue screen of death. I dont think its the hardware, I think its where the cloning software didnt do right & I had to make a fresh Win7x64Pro install. The code says conflicting drivers & fixing that is WAY beyond my abilities. When that gets repaired, this SSD will be doing the job PERFECTLY. I am running it at 75-85% capacity and theres no issues with speed or temperature. Battery life extended by about 30% longer due to the SSDs lower consumption. Performance index is now based on my lowest score which is the laptop graphics. No biggie, its a laptop that I use for home recording. Once it stops crashing, Ill see how all of that runs.

I purchased this to upgrade a circa 2011 Toshiba Satellite which was expensive at the time but had become uncomfortably slow with to the original HDD. The laptop would take a few minutes to boot and the drive was pegged during any application launch. Resource monitor showed disk latency hovering in the 1000s and queue lengths over 50. In short, after logon and you had to start up your apps and walk away until it calmed down. CPU and memory usage were fine so this was clearly an IOPS problem. For under $70 I used this 240 GB SSD to turn the laptop into what feels like a new device. I had a copy of Acronis on a desktop so I used that to clone the partitions from the laptop HDD to the new SSD. Everything worked as expected and its like a new laptop now.

Even though i purchased this product to be coupled with a 1tb Seagate drive that never came, this SSD alone has been a driving force in both its temporary home and its now permanent home. No full speed test were done on this drive on its initial installation, test will be done in its new housing soon which I will post soon. Test or no test however, over the last 5 months with this SSD has been wonderful and have give two computers new life that otherwise would feel sluggish and slow. This SSD isnt much of a match for the likes of the 850 evo pros; however, for an entry level priced SSD, this bad boy takes the cake in my eyes and will be a definite repurchase for other future builds and upgrades I will be doing.

For a quick replacement to upgrade my grandmothers laptop speeds, it was well worth the price. It is not the fastest on the market, but a reliable SSD nonetheless. I would go with the Extreme Pro models for my own devices, but to simply gain a boot and xfer speed increase over magnetic HDDs, it is a great investment. With todays options, the boot speeds on SSDs are pretty similar unless you get to the real high end ones.. and this does not give a massive benefit if xferring files to/from a magnetic drive (due to the magnetic drives bottleneck), so if you can pick one of these up cheap, it can be another storage drive to be able to take advantage of other SSDs xfer speeds, but I mainly purchase these type of models for simple HDD to SSD upgrade jobs. I would recommend to others as long as the price is right/reasonable.

I bought it 1 year and 2 months ago to increment my old Thinkpad X201 notebook, which dates from late 2009/early 2010. I use Linux/GNU/Lubuntu with 8GB or RAM, and the machine just flies and performs better than many machines much younger than that. The SSD was the most beneficial update during all this time (yes, even counting the 4-8GB upgrade), as expected. I dont care about benchmarks, but you can find them, for this model, easily and anywhere. I always like to wait a reasonable time before reviewing fine electronics (or try to update the reviews as time goes by) in order to also evaluate its durability. Im glad to inform that it is still working just as well after more than a year. Therefore, Im satisfied.

Update 2-2018 The SSD finally stopped working. Im surprised because the only other SSDs that failed on me were questionable used SSDs. I think there has been only 1 or 2 HDDs that failed on me in my lifetime so this is rare. Sad to see it go but thank god I had things backed up. Update 1 My review wasnt on just the fact it used plastic for the SSD case. Plastic are perfectly fine material. My issue was with how weak/brittle it felt in my hands, how it wasnt machined together tightly. Just wanted to note that if you thought I was taking stars just because the use of plastic. Ive had a little time with the SSD and honestly its been what you can expect from a SSD. Its much faster than a 5400RPM drive youll find in most laptops. Thats about it though. For general use I felt no speedups and felt no slow downs compared to the previous SSD used (Micron M500 120GB) which was a slower drive in general as far as specifications go. So for general use current SATA III SSDs speeds dont really matter unless were speaking of the 4K speeds. In this case what makes an SSD a good deal then? Price vs Capacity and then the durability/longevity. Price vs Capacity = Good since I bought it for $59.99. $59.99/240 = .25 Cents/Gigabyte. For $69.99 or more? No, at that price I think its price/capacity ratio is no longer good for the speed/quality of the SSD. I cant review what came with the SSD since I bought the bare bones drive which is another reason why the drive is cheap. That leaves longevity which is probably #1 for me and electronics. I cant say much. Time hasnt passed enough yet and we cant review that on any product until something happens, or doesnt happen for several years. Ill give it to Sandisk for providing the most spacious SSDs for the money recently with their Ultra II 480GB/960GB and the Plus 240GB. If it can last through out the warranty coverage without issues this deserves 4 stars, and past the warranty a bit maybe even 5 stars. But until then 3 stars is what I would give since its nothing special. CrystalDiskMark numbers and screens coming soon, and maybe a few comparisons to the SSDs I still have with me (850 Evo, Micron M500, Intel 530, Intel 520, Intel 525, ADATA SP920) though they are various sizes. Original Review I wasnt expecting much from a cheap 240gb SSD, but man the quality of the physical SSD casing is low. Ive tried various SSDs from Intel, Samsung, OCZ, Kingston, Micron, Crucial, A data, PNY, Corsair, Toshiba etc but this Sandisk here was the lightest, flex, cheap plastic casing Ive seen. I get cheaper SSDs and their lower speeds (especially write) but sacrificing physical quality too much. Ill update the review after testing the SSD for speed benchmarks, and then again after a few months/year if any problem occurs

This is everything you want in an SSD at the right price. Its incredibly quick, boots like lightning, and (obviously) silent. The key caveat here is that it does NOT come with imaging/cloning software. Now, if you already have that software, or you know what youre doing? Youre going to have no problems. But if you dont really know what youre doing, and youre looking to transfer over a windows install, youre going to have to find some software to get the job done (and know how to use it...). Thats actually an important point (that is rather casually omitted). But there is no questioning this drives efficacy, especially at the price. Just know what you (arent) getting.
