Greater than one weekPurchased this product when it was the Deal of the Day. I could not be happier with my purchase. My mid 2009 MacBook Pro was in bad need of an upgrade. I was faced with either spending $1000 on a new MacBook (on the low end) or spending roughly $100 on a new solid state drive. Switching the drive out was super simple. I used a USB to SATA cable that I ordered and cloned the old hard drive. After several hours of data transfer, I installed the new drive and now my 7 year old MacBook runs like new! I highly recommend this product, especially if you have an older MacBook that has gotten sluggish and needs new life!

> 3 day(*Update* 9/11/2016 I was able to get the computer back up after all. The only way to get the system to load is by bypassing driver verification. I had someone suggest that the windows backup was corrupted by the first crash. No way to know but oh well. (*Update* 9/7/2016 Well, the darn thing worked for a couple of months and now the computer wont boot again. Just before the loading screen on Windows 7 it auto reboots. I have tried restoring the computer to a previous restore point, cant access safe mode, and am finding the problem may be related to the SSD itself. Im tempted to go buy a different brand of SSD and try a restore on it to make sure its the SanDisk. Ive never had issues like this on other computers using other brands of hard drives. Until I prove it isnt the SanDisk SSD it gets a star axing down to 1 star.) Original - This was installed as a fast-boot drive for my wifes school/gaming computer. After 6 months of normal use my wife got an error on her computer stating that the hard drive had corrupted sectors and errors on it along with an error that said the version of windows was no longer verifiable. Essentially, the C dirve (SanDisk) had died. We attempted to back it up but it wouldnt backup any of it. I cant get it to work even on a separate device. Im thoroughly surprised that this would stop working like it did, in such a short time. Especially after reading all of the positive reviews and knowing SanDisks reputation. I personally am using a much cheaper SSD as a boot drive and have experienced no problems (knock on wood.) So I dont think its a surge problem or anything like that. At this time I would no longer recommend this product. *Update* Shortly after writing this review I decided to check the negative reviews to see if anyone had experienced a similar problem to mine and had any solutions to it. Turns out, a manufacturer had responded to someone elses SSD that had died like mine and left a number to contact. SanDisk has told me that they will replace the SSD because it is under warranty. As of now, Im awaiting to receive the new SSD before changing this review. *Update* 7/29/2016 So we received the replacement for the SSD yesterday and installed it. It seems to be working well. Our experience with the company was actually fairly decent. They were polite, ensured us that we would receive a replacement once they determined that the SSD was faulty, and have come through on their word. For this particular part of our SanDisk experience: The Cons -Our restored Windows 7 now has a corrupt file and claims we are not running a genuine version of windows (which is an annoying issue in itself.) -My Wife has had no access to her school-notes during the wait time it took to receive the new SSD (roughly one week.) -No data recovery offered or seemingly avail. -Have to turn in the old SSD for a new one, losing any ability to one day recover the data on the SSD Pros -SanDisk stood by their warranty and sent a replacement SSD with a fairly simple process to claim a return. -The new SanDisk SSD is installed and working. Since SanDisk sent a replacement and stayed true to their warranty Ive bumped the rating to 3 stars. Thank you SanDisk customer service for standing by your policy.

> 3 daySpeeds slightly over advertised (make sure you enable ahci in the bios before installing or it will be slower), Been working fine for almost a year with now issues now. This is a great, affordable ssd and I would recommend it to anyone who doesnt want to pay a premium for a samsung drive. My OS (windows 8.1) goes from bios to desktop in about 5-10 seconds, and is immediately responsive once hitting the desktop. No more waiting for programs to load and such before your computer is running at full speed. If you are still using an hdd as your boot drive you can really benefit from this upgrade. Update 10/13/17: removed 2 stars from review. drive is still functioning, however the write amplification factor is over 35 now and the drive is being reported as .95% wear level in software, which due to a bug in smart reporting is actually 95% wear on the NAND. after only 15tb of actual writes to the drive, there has been over 550tb of data written to the NAND which is approaching the drives expected life. I only use this as a windows boot drive and a few frequently used games, I even moved the page file to an hdd to prevent unnecessary writes so the drive hasnt been abused at all. Experiencing some system instability which I believe to be due to the ssd, and will be contacting sandisk about warranty replacement since it is unacceptable for a 2 year old drive to be 95% worn from normal use.

> 3 dayWorks great. I put one in my three year old bargain ASUS laptop and it made it into a whole new machine. Boots into Windows 10 in under 10 seconds. I put a second one in my five year old desktop computer and it has made it much faster. I was thinking I was going to have replace both computers as they were so slow, but with the SSD I figure I can keep using them for another year or maybe two before I am forced to upgrade them. Installation was easy in both computers and both seem to working well.

> 3 dayI started with an OCZ ARC 100 ARC100-25SAT3-240G which worked fine except for the fact that it crashed every time youd try and sleep/resume in windows 7 64 bit. Useless like that, but I do have to say their tech support is very supportive since they shipped me a replacement before even sending mine back to them. Unfortunately it still didnt work right. Next I got a Crucial BX100 CT250BX100SSD1 which again worked fine except for the sleep/resume issue. Luckily Crucial had a firmware upgrade which fixes this issue. The crucial btw was about half the weight of the OCZ. So after dealing with issues on both previous SSD upgrades I decided to either get another Crucial since I knew it would work eventually or try out a SanDisk since their SD cards have always been flawless. Im glad the SanDisk was on sale first. It worked perfect right out of the box and is incredibly lightweight. Approx half the weight of the Crucial, 1/4 of the OCZ. Speedwise it maxes out my Sata 2 connection just fine at 280/240mbs, the others if i remember right were around 250 or so. Windows boots up in 55 seconds with this on my old laptop.

> 3 dayIm rating this as 5 stars based on my needs and the SSDs performance. Not saying it will be your nirvana. This is my second purchase of this item. I installed the first one in my daughters old Dell laptop. On its best days it would crawl. Cloned the OS installed this SSD and BAM! it was a new machine. I was impressed enough to get one for the Boss (read wife) who was complaining about the long boot time. Again, clone and install. Now the Boss is happy, and if the Boss is happy, everybodys happy. Good price, good performance, plug and play. If youre not looking to turn your computer into a Cray, youll probably like this.

> 3 dayThis SSD may be the old style and have slower speeds than the newer models, but it was not intended for a production photo or video editing machine where that is critically important. This SSD replaced the factory hard drive in my sisters computer. She writes stories in her word processor, manages her email, browses the Internet, and plays some Facebook games. For the typical user such as her, this SSD is fabulous. The factory hard drive had a 3GB connection to the computer, while this SSD links up at the maximum speed of 6GB. Plus, being a solid state drive, there are no spinning disks and search lag times. My sister does not understand all the technical stuff. What she experiences are the lightning speed boot ups and program launches. Replacing the 5 year old drive in her computer with this one made it run better than it ever did. She absolutely loves her computer now.

Greater than one weekIm using this as an OS drive to speed up a system at a small business. I cant overstate how much snappier the machine feels with this SSD as opposed to the traditional plate drive it replaced. This drive has spoiled me and I will soon be forced to add one of these babies to every machine I have any contact with at the office. With the drop in SSD prices you really get a much larger bang for your buck by adding one of these as opposed to spending the same or more money on adding more RAM. If your system already has 4GBs of RAM or more and you have your OS on a platter-type spinning drive, this is the upgrade that will make you feel like you have a brand new computer. Couldnt be happier with the purchase. Cant believe I didnt do this sooner.

> 3 dayPros: system is faster when doing a virus scan, and boot time is shorter. Con: I had planned to use an image to load the drive. found out that if the drive where the image was taken is larger than the SSD (which was my case), the image will not install. I had to load from scratch. Not the end of the world, but if you are converting to solid state from a mechanical drive, chances are your mechanical drive will be larger, even if the image of C: is not, and you will not be able to load the image. I gave the product 5 stars because you cant blame the product for ignorance. SanDisk has always been a trusted name.
