I bought this to use in an Atomos Ninja 2 video recorder for my camera after having a discussion with Atomos support to ensure compatibility. They actually told me this model should appear on their official supported list. I already have an inexpensive larger HDD that I use for longer jobs (3+ hour concerts on a stationary camera, etc), but I wanted an SSD for jobs that I might require more shock-proofing if going off-tripod with the recorder. This is a perfect fit for that- performance is not the fastest on the market (Sandisk has other lines such as the extreme for that), but it is very respectable for an SSD in todays standards, and faster than my first-generation Intel SSD currently in my workstation. And if youre comparing to a mechanical HDD, were not even in the same ballpark either way. These are FAST and solid. And I trust Sandisk a lot more than other brands out there. In fact, Im impressed enough with the quality-to-cost ratio that I might pick up another one to replace my workstations older and smaller model. Great buy!

SUPER FAST!!!! My laptop is like the Millennium Falcon jumping into hyperspace after smelling some cocaine, dropping a hit of LSD, popping some speed, drinking a 5 Hour Energy, smelling a little more cocaine and chasing it all with a Red Bull followed by a Monster and Mt. Dew.... Then it happens... Blue screen of death. I dont think its the hardware, I think its where the cloning software didnt do right & I had to make a fresh Win7x64Pro install. The code says conflicting drivers & fixing that is WAY beyond my abilities. When that gets repaired, this SSD will be doing the job PERFECTLY. I am running it at 75-85% capacity and theres no issues with speed or temperature. Battery life extended by about 30% longer due to the SSDs lower consumption. Performance index is now based on my lowest score which is the laptop graphics. No biggie, its a laptop that I use for home recording. Once it stops crashing, Ill see how all of that runs.

I bought the 240 GB model for a laptop. I used the free DriveClone to copy the Windows 10 image from a new Acer Core i5 6th generation with a 512 GB HDD. Before the upgrade this new Intel Skylake-based laptop ran like a slug and had constant pauses in Windows. After the upgrade it runs like a dream. I only wish I had put the drive into an optical drive adapter so I didnt have to deal with opening the new laptop. Now I cant even properly close the bottom lid because the 3.5mm jack is blocking the lid from shutting completely. It still works but its a blemish I didnt need and I spend almost an hour opening and closing the lid. Ive included the Crystal Diskmark scores for the 240 GB model.

does 380mb read/write, no problems yet UPDATE: a year and a half later and its dead, tried on 3 computers, wont even show up on bios, and it kinda freezes the boot process, I kept it barely used for around half its life and then running everyday at around 30-50º C on a htpc, if it lasted at least 3-4 years it would still be fine but damn less than 2 years is just unacceptable, while my older 850 evo still as good as new UPDATE2: well the RMA went well, a couple weeks later they sent me a sealed retail unit, if it also lasts 2 years I would still consider it 5 stars thanks to their service, would definitely buy again, it was probably 1 out of 10 bad drives

I am doing everything I can to extend the use of my laptop, and replacing an old and failing HDD with a speedy new SSD is a simple yet effective way to do so. While the SSD is smaller capacity it improves load times on boot and data access is much faster. Sandisk is a brand I know and trust, as I already use their flash drives and I had another SSD, same type but different generation. The two SSDs work together flawlessly and both are recognized by their dashboard app which helps me to monitor the state of my SSDs. 256GB option is very affordable for its size and good enough for the average PC user or light gamers, or even just as a small storage or backup device.

Using this on my computer right now. I cant encourage people enough; if your computer is running slow and you know its not the RAM or CPU getting over loaded, then its probably you HDD. While a new HDD would proabably solve the problem too, an SSD will make your computer better than it was before, not the same. Ive put this SSD in 3 computers so far, 2 macs and a PC. They were all running toward the end of their lives (about 6 years old) and now with an SSD they run like new. My only advice is read up on how to change your HDD and properly back up your computer when you either clone or migrate your old HDD onto your new one. With regards to how this SSD ranks against others, I havent had a lot of interaction with others but this one is getting the job done and some so I dont see the point of spending more money on a samsung or something like it. Sandisk is reputable and relatively inexpensive. Its a happy medium if you ask me.

Got my product in the mail today, Plopped it into my old Toshiba laptop to replace the 5200 RPM slow HDD. I could not be happier with this product! The only Con to this product is the look, Its kind of ugly. But thats okay, I wont see it in the laptop anyways. As for speed? It is a very good read speed, But the write is a little low compared to some of the more expensive SSDs. BUT, With anything PC related, You get what you pay for. For the price? Amazing. 4/5 Stars

Installed this on my 15 Macbook Pro (mid 2012 model). I dont use too much space on my HDD, so I opted for the 120GB SSD for blazing fast start-up speeds and application control. The speed is well worth it. Easy install, also comes with a frame for the SSD. My only complaint is that it does not come with any spacers. I now have a little extra room in the HDD bay, and can noticeably hear the SSD moving around frequently. Despite the spacing, I would recommend for anyone looking to add some life back into their machine.

Bought this on sale for $65 to speed up my sluggish Toshiba L15W-B1302 laptop. Was going to do a straight clone of the 500gig 5400 rpm HDD, but opted to do a clean install of Windows 10 via the Microsoft Media Creation tool and an 8 gig thumb drive instead. Which now I have a $10 SATA USB connection cable for no reason. (Changed my mind on the cloning mid-shipment). Everything went smooth w/ Installation of Windows 10. Most of the night spent downloading updates, Steam games, 18 gigs of pictures off the cloud, 10 gigs of music and misc from a memory card transfer. The SSD is a beast compared to the original HDD. Boot up went from around 90 seconds to up and ready to use in 20-25 seconds easy. Apps and Software load up in a snap and saving files feels like I have blazing speed internet. EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. Plan on getting an enclosure for the original HDD and using it for a portable backup/storage.

Step up to SSD speeds and inject new life into your laptop or desktop PC with a durable solid state drive from SanDisk. You"ll experience quicker boot up and shut down, quicker application response and data transfer speeds than with a typical hard disk drive1, at just a fraction of the cost of a new computer. You"ll boost your cool factor, too, with a solid state drive that doesn"t overheat, make noise or burn through battery. SanDisk SSDs are tested and proven to be resistant to shock, vibration and temperature extremes2, so your SSD keeps working, no matter where or how hard you use your computer.
