> 3 dayI upgraded my laptopss 5200 rpm hard drive with this to increase performance mainly in response time of applications. This SSD has made my laptop so much more easier to use (it worked perfectly fine before, but waiting 15 seconds or longer for applications to open really infuriated me). Not only did the SSD increase overall performance, but I have noticed the battery life has extended by about an additional hour. Also, a free download link to cloning software is included, but I would recommend a clean install to maximize available storage on the drive as well as performance. PROS -Decrease in boot up and shutdown times. -Decrease in application start times. -Increase in battery life (may vary depending on workload). -Easy to install -Comes with a link to download cloning software (you need a USB to SATA cable) -3 year warranty CONS -Made of a lightweight plastic material (Not really a con since it will hopefully be inside your PC) If you are waiting for SSDs to get cheaper and are on the fence about getting this SSD, just take the plunge. You will be glad you finally did.

Greater than one weekBought this on sale for $65 to speed up my sluggish Toshiba L15W-B1302 laptop. Was going to do a straight clone of the 500gig 5400 rpm HDD, but opted to do a clean install of Windows 10 via the Microsoft Media Creation tool and an 8 gig thumb drive instead. Which now I have a $10 SATA USB connection cable for no reason. (Changed my mind on the cloning mid-shipment). Everything went smooth w/ Installation of Windows 10. Most of the night spent downloading updates, Steam games, 18 gigs of pictures off the cloud, 10 gigs of music and misc from a memory card transfer. The SSD is a beast compared to the original HDD. Boot up went from around 90 seconds to up and ready to use in 20-25 seconds easy. Apps and Software load up in a snap and saving files feels like I have blazing speed internet. EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. Plan on getting an enclosure for the original HDD and using it for a portable backup/storage.

> 3 dayThis SSD was very affordable and it totally revived my laptop. The installation of the drive was very easy. If you are new to replacing a hard drive then I suggest researching what you might need to transfer an image of your existing drive to your new SSD. The bootup time required to boot Windows has decreased. A side benefit if you have a computer with a little amount of ram (4gb RAM or less) is that it speeds up the processes running in the background. An example of this is if your are pushing the limits of your ram the system begins to access your hard drive to act as an expanded ram source. With a SSD drive this doesnt slow down your computer at all, but with a drive that spins it has to spin your drive constantly as it acts as a temporary source for RAM thus slowing down all of the processes. It accesses the SSD similar to RAM because there are no moving parts. I dont want to get technical on the specifics but just want to indicate that the increase in performance is more noticeable when the SSD is placed in an older computer than in a brand new computer that already has 8gb RAM or more. I plan to get several more years of use out of my laptop because of this SSD.

> 3 dayWho is going to upgrade to an SSD from a standard HDD and not be completely satisfied with the gains in performance. First SSD Ive had and so far, Im impressed. Coming from a HDD to this is like night and day; albeit, the speeds arent stellar but its leaps and bounds faster at everything than running of a standard HDD. I say this because, you dont necessarily have to get the top advertised speed SSD to experience the performance gains if you too switching from an HDD. The only down side is, while theyre great, theyre still expensive for the capacity in my opinion but with time that is going to come down fast as it already has. I just couldnt wait any longer! :)

> 3 daySUPER FAST!!!! My laptop is like the Millennium Falcon jumping into hyperspace after smelling some cocaine, dropping a hit of LSD, popping some speed, drinking a 5 Hour Energy, smelling a little more cocaine and chasing it all with a Red Bull followed by a Monster and Mt. Dew.... Then it happens... Blue screen of death. I dont think its the hardware, I think its where the cloning software didnt do right & I had to make a fresh Win7x64Pro install. The code says conflicting drivers & fixing that is WAY beyond my abilities. When that gets repaired, this SSD will be doing the job PERFECTLY. I am running it at 75-85% capacity and theres no issues with speed or temperature. Battery life extended by about 30% longer due to the SSDs lower consumption. Performance index is now based on my lowest score which is the laptop graphics. No biggie, its a laptop that I use for home recording. Once it stops crashing, Ill see how all of that runs.

Greater than one weekThis drive had operated nearly flawlessly since 2015 when I originally purchased it. Today 5/8/20 this has changed. I was using my PC normally, browsing on chrome when Windows crashed with a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED bluescreen. Upon restart I was greeted with the dreaded NTLDR missing boot error. The next step was to throw a Windows 10 ISO in so I could try a repair. The repair utility saw the drive, and claimed it had a storage capacity of 0 bytes. Following this I attempted to read the drive using an external enclosure. The drive was not detected on multiple machines using this method. These series of events has lead me to the conclusion that the drive has died. No S.M.A.R.T. warnings provided. I checked the Sandisk SSD dashboard a week ago, and it claimed the drive was in good health. This failure has caused me to lose important data tied to my college classes, data which had not been around long enough for the backup window to kick in. This event has been a intense frustration all day, and now I am faced with trying to either find a way to restore the data, or start fresh without my files. For this reason, I cannot currently recommend this drive for long term usage. The only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one, is that while it was working, it was a well performing drive.

Greater than one weekThis is the second one that Ive purchased and installed. The first one went into a high-end ASUS Ultra Book. The hard drive that came with the laptop was starting to go bad, so I googled how much it would cost to have the hard drive replaced. I punched in the exact model number for my laptop, and a YouTube video came up showing how easy it was to install a solid-state hard drive. The YouTube video was very helpful, Im very glad that I purchased the precision screwdriver set from Amazon at the same time. The torx bits necessary to undo the very tiny screws on the back of my laptop wouldve been extremely difficult to find otherwise. After cloning the original hard drive onto the new solid-state drive, I had my computer apart and back together in about 15 minutes. As soon as I touched the power button, the computer booted up much faster than it ever had. The one thing that surprised me the most was how quickly some of my more demanding programs booted up. Originally, it took almost a minute and a half for my Dragon NaturallySpeaking to boot up and begin working. Previously, I had noted how long it took from the time I spoke the word until it printed on the page. With the new solid-state drive, the time taken to go from the spoken word before that word appeared on the screen, was at least 10 times faster. (I am dictating this review on Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11. I also purchased the software from Amazon, at a price much lower than I found anywhere else at the time.) Best of all, was video games. I know its a solid-state drive has nothing to do with the video card performance, but the video games I play the most, booted up much faster, and played much more smoothly. I have an older Dell desktop, it was starting to run very slowly. Because I was so pleased with how well my laptop was performing, I decided to do the same thing to my older desktop. Because the solid-state drive is so much smaller than the desktop hard drive was, I had to buy an adapter, six bucks, no big deal. Same as before, I called the hard drive, installed it, and was extremely pleased by the results. Even when it was new, this older Dell computer never worked as fast as it does right now. Dont get me wrong, I am not a computer technician, truthfully, they scare me to death. But installing the solid-state hard drive couldnt be any easier, remove some screws, replacing screws, plug the cables back in, put the cover back on, start it up.

> 3 daySolid SSD upgrade at a competitive price, however this is more of a middle of the road performer in that its definitely an improvement over any harddrive in the way of speed but the difference between this and a Samsung Evo is like night and day. Whats odd is that the write speed, while still greater than a harddrive, is still slower than expected. Still, a very good starting point for those on a budget, but I urge that users make the effort to get an Evo instead

Greater than one weekSo far the drive is working great. Fixed my problem perfectly. Easy swap as well. Bought a laptop from the pawnshop that was slow and lagging. Drive in it was jumping to 100% for 5-10min at a time and hanging on downloads. Put this puppy in there and problem gone. Bonus boot time as well. Boots into Windows 10 in under 10 seconds. File access is super fast once you log in and copying files is a breeze. If you dont have a cable to clone your old drive over to the new SSD all you need is a USB with at least 8GB of free space, a Windows ISO and the Windows USB tool to make a USB install disk. Make sure you have your Windows key handy, swap the drives, put in the USB stick you made, boot up the machine and the computer should boot to the Windows installer on the USB stick. Install Windows and youre good to go.
