> 3 dayFirst of all the drive works well. Entry level so dont expect super duper fast reads and writes. Two stars drop off because of the difficulty in transferring from the old hard drive from the laptop to the ssd drive. I know that cheap is the key word here and that no software utility or other means of cloning come with the drive. The drive that I was replacing had Windows 10 and on a fairly slow laptop which I was wanting to speed up. A free cloning utility is available, EaseUS and that part was painless except that once completed, the boot sector on the cloned drive needed repaired to be bootable. So, since I have no Windows 10 installation disk, Microsoft allows download of repair disk image which has to be installed onto a flash drive or DVD. An hour or two later after digging up the required programs, the drive was fully functional. Next since I wanted to test the drive, I downloaded the Sandisk SSD Dashboard program. What a joke that is! Never had a program refuse to run if the screen resolution didnt suit the program. Well, another visit to Sandisk site an.after several adjustments to the supported resolution, the program came alive. I went to the performance section clicked and up popped another program problem with my computer. Back to Sandisk support site, digging found there was two possible solutions, edit a registry key if it existed; it didnt. Then go to the command line and enter a string of characters and it didnt work either. So after fooling around with this dog and pony show I flat out quit wasting time and uninstalled SSD Dashboard and classified it as another piece of useless software.

> 3 dayBased on reviews and other information I had read about the SanDisk SSDs, I decided to purchase this drive for a client of mine who needed some faster, more reliable storage on their home desktop computer. Physically it doesnt differ much from any other SSD, and in terms of read/write speeds its pretty snappy. There was a noticeable difference in the start-up time of the OS (Windows 10), right off the bat. The wake up time when the computer was in sleep mode was also MUCH improved and this is exactly what both I and my customer were hoping for. At this time Im unable to comment on the longevity of the drive, but barring any hardware defects, I believe it should last a sufficient amount of time. That being said, I always choose to maintain regular backups of my important documents/pictures/etc. If you are looking for a great SSD that will positively impact your start-up times and file transfer rates, this SanDisk SSD will do the trick.

Greater than one weekEven though i purchased this product to be coupled with a 1tb Seagate drive that never came, this SSD alone has been a driving force in both its temporary home and its now permanent home. No full speed test were done on this drive on its initial installation, test will be done in its new housing soon which I will post soon. Test or no test however, over the last 5 months with this SSD has been wonderful and have give two computers new life that otherwise would feel sluggish and slow. This SSD isnt much of a match for the likes of the 850 evo pros; however, for an entry level priced SSD, this bad boy takes the cake in my eyes and will be a definite repurchase for other future builds and upgrades I will be doing.

> 3 dayI replaced the original HDD in my early 2008 iMac with this SSD, and it has made a world of difference. The mac had nearly ground to a halt with regular beach balling, very slow bootup times for the OS and very slow startup times for all apps, as well as slow app performance. The SSD has made the years drop away and the computer feels like a brand new machine. No more beach balls, screamingly fast app startups and performance - this was, all the way around, a major improvement for not much money. The installation was a bit nerve-wracking, but it was doable even for a non-tech person such as myself. Interestingly, I had no conception this was even possible until a salesperson in a local Apple store suggested it.

> 3 dayThis SSD may be the old style and have slower speeds than the newer models, but it was not intended for a production photo or video editing machine where that is critically important. This SSD replaced the factory hard drive in my sisters computer. She writes stories in her word processor, manages her email, browses the Internet, and plays some Facebook games. For the typical user such as her, this SSD is fabulous. The factory hard drive had a 3GB connection to the computer, while this SSD links up at the maximum speed of 6GB. Plus, being a solid state drive, there are no spinning disks and search lag times. My sister does not understand all the technical stuff. What she experiences are the lightning speed boot ups and program launches. Replacing the 5 year old drive in her computer with this one made it run better than it ever did. She absolutely loves her computer now.

> 3 dayIm using this as an OS drive to speed up a system at a small business. I cant overstate how much snappier the machine feels with this SSD as opposed to the traditional plate drive it replaced. This drive has spoiled me and I will soon be forced to add one of these babies to every machine I have any contact with at the office. With the drop in SSD prices you really get a much larger bang for your buck by adding one of these as opposed to spending the same or more money on adding more RAM. If your system already has 4GBs of RAM or more and you have your OS on a platter-type spinning drive, this is the upgrade that will make you feel like you have a brand new computer. Couldnt be happier with the purchase. Cant believe I didnt do this sooner.

> 3 dayThis was a great purchase for a decent price. This SSD seems to be a tad cheaper than the other ones of a similar capacity, which is great for me since I only have so much money. Anyway, I bought this to replace the old 120 gig hard drive in my 2008 Core 2 Duo (White plastic) MacBook. I wanted a speed boost and Im sure the old drive was beginning to go anyway. I received the SSD on time without any hassles. To install it in my MacBook, I put the SSD into an external USB enclosure, then used the Disk Utility in Mac OS X to clone the hard drive to the SSD. The process for me took about 2 hours, but that may vary depending on how many files and software you have, whether you have USB 2.0 or 3.0, etc etc. After the cloning was complete it was just a matter of taking the battery out of my MacBook and swapping the drives. Everything worked right away, and even though my MacBook only has SATA I speeds, there was a HUGE difference in the speed of the laptop. Programs that used to take forever to open now started almost instantly, and the computer now takes only ~30 seconds to boot up to a usable desktop. And when I shut down the computer, it turns off pretty much right away, as opposed to before when it would take a minute or so to close down everything. 3 months later and the SSD is still kicking, and I think its safe to say this brought some new life into my 8 going on 9 year old laptop. If anyone has an older desktop or laptop and they want to get some more speed out of it, and theyve already upgraded the RAM and whatnot, I definitely recommend this, or any SSD for that matter.

> 3 dayPurchase this item since it has went down in price from hundred of dollars to $64.99, now $61.95, making it an excellent deal. At least it is cheaper than waiting for my hard drive to breakdown. Went to see how much a professional would charge to install it and clone my old disk drive, since I have never clone a hard drive before, and they want $150 to install and clone the old hard drive. As such I decided to do it myself. The installation was easy. I downloaded the free cloning software from that is mentioned in the FAQ section for this product here on Amazon. I connect the

> 3 dayInstalled this on my 15 Macbook Pro (mid 2012 model). I dont use too much space on my HDD, so I opted for the 120GB SSD for blazing fast start-up speeds and application control. The speed is well worth it. Easy install, also comes with a frame for the SSD. My only complaint is that it does not come with any spacers. I now have a little extra room in the HDD bay, and can noticeably hear the SSD moving around frequently. Despite the spacing, I would recommend for anyone looking to add some life back into their machine.

> 3 dayI bought the 240 GB model for a laptop. I used the free DriveClone to copy the Windows 10 image from a new Acer Core i5 6th generation with a 512 GB HDD. Before the upgrade this new Intel Skylake-based laptop ran like a slug and had constant pauses in Windows. After the upgrade it runs like a dream. I only wish I had put the drive into an optical drive adapter so I didnt have to deal with opening the new laptop. Now I cant even properly close the bottom lid because the 3.5mm jack is blocking the lid from shutting completely. It still works but its a blemish I didnt need and I spend almost an hour opening and closing the lid. Ive included the Crystal Diskmark scores for the 240 GB model.
